And yes, I think that with the exception of Trash-chel they should all improve over last year based on the #1 factor being they've had a full spring training to work with Leo Mazzone (vs last year when Leo didnt see em at all in Spring Training due to the WBC). I Think even Jaret Wright should be able to improve, as he was familiar with Mazzone for a time and had a really good season with ATL in 2004. Erik Bedard has improved in each of his 3 seasons w/ the Os so far and this has to be the year he steps up to be elite pitcher (with some calling him a sleeper pick to win the Cy Young Award but I doubt that seriously). Last year: 15-11, 3.76 ERA 176 Ks 1.35 WHIP 198 IP Daniel Cabrera has been average at best the last two season after his outstanding rookie season, but he showed MAJOR improvements over the last half of the season after being sent to the minors and getting his vision corrected, primarily in his control Last year: 9-10 4.74 ERA 157 Ks 104 BB 1.58 WHIP 148 IP Adam Loewen pitched the 2nd half of last year for his first major league experience, struggling at times but looking brilliant at others. Last year: 6-6 5.37 ERA 98 Ks 1.58 WHIP 112 IP Those are the 3 guys from the rotation last year..again, I think the extra time for these 3 working with Mazzone will mean definite improvements for all of them. Trash-chel isn't going to improve over last year and Im not even going to suggest as much, but he'll do..the Os needed a veteran pitcher on the staff with it being so loaded in the front with younger guys.

Well, its a broke country with broke citizens and they are raising the price of cheap affordable food. It makes sense. I think it only sounds silly because we are in America. You can make tortillas out of flour, as it is commonly eaten, and hell burritos and all that as well. It'd be like us flipping out over having to switch to flour bread because wheat was getting too expensive for whatever reason. Anyways, to reply to Marv up there, the whole point of the article is that the Department of Energy is not going to use corn for Ethanol. In fact, I'm fairly sure I put that in the topic title for this very thread. Corn IS used for ethanol right NOW though and for the near future, so thats why people are complaining about the cost of eggs and milk going up. Eggs have doubled in price ive noticed, and milk, heavily subsidized as it is anyway, has gone up like 40 cents a gallon here. and to Invader up there..go watch the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car?". It will open your eyes up to a lot of things about electric cars, including the fact that GM was producing an electric car called the EV1 back in the early 1990's that got canned after a few years for various reasons and no other car maker would touch the electric car market because of it until recently. Even today you probably wont see a viable all electric car due to limitations on the technology (milage, batteries, really high cost) but some of the technology GM and other companies used in the electric cars is making it to the Hybrid models today. They also made it clear that Hydrogen for fuel isn't the answer anytime in the next 20-30 years despite all the money being thrown at it now by the government.

The biggest one I can think of (I guess) is the 5 second rule. 1/2 a nano second or 5 seconds, the food is contaminated unless it lands on a completely sanitary floor.

I think you all are mistaking computer monitors for TVs, and granted you can probably display HD Res on the computer monitor so I guess its no different but still. 99% of HDTVs haven't had VGA ports in them ever since DVI was introduced.

I was reading in one of my trade magazines at work. The problems with corn for ethanol are: 1) More energy invested into growing the corn and processing it than you get from the ethanol thats derived from it. 2) Corn grown in this country is more grown for feed for livestock than human consumption. So if you switch of the corn from being grown for livestock feed to ethanol, than the livestock has to be fed something else or else the really expensive corn. So theres where your meat and dairy prices going up come from. So people pretty much have to decide whether they want to pay $3 or $4 a gallon for gas and still have cheap milk, eggs and meat/poultry or not.. It seems to me as if food costs would hit people harder than gas if you really think about it because everyone has to eat and the increased food costs of dairy and meat products would hit just about every non-vegan person in America.

Last thing the Os need to be doing is helping out the Yankees with their problems..plus Angelos would never pay the money so I dont even have to worry about it happening ever anyway. Personally I will always remember the AS Game where he moved over to 3rd to Allow Cal to play SS in his final AS Game..but Ive always been struck by him as being selfish just because of the huge contract he took to play with Texas..which pretty much kept them from being competitive because they couldnt dish out money for other players.

erubiel durazo 1B OAK Hes at least gonna start the season at 1B because Dan Johnson is going on the dL with a hip injury possibly til late June..so..I'll take him..I guess.

Component is fine for HD..but there just arent that many HD TVs made anymore with VGA, and the ones that were made are like 5 years old or better.. HDMI to Component adapter would be ok for people who have no HDMI ports at all or like me have theirs filled..of course with that last you can always go with a switcher..

I Dont keep up with the X Box at all..I just saw that article about the adapter cable. As far as the Adapter being possible: There is no such thing as a Component to HDMI cable..its not possible..what you posted only goes one way..Component to HDMI which is possible because component doesn't have the HDCP encryption. That would work if you want to take a DVD player and hook it up to a HDTV without component inputs (??) but is rediculous because it costs $200. It is almost impossible to have HDMI to Component cable because HDMI wont pass to the component because the other end needs the HDCP verifcation, and thats the type of Cable Microsoft would need to be sending XBox owners or whatever the guy was trying to say they were doing.. Anyway..as far as the other things..Microsoft is one of the largest backers of HD-DVD and it wouldnt surprise me if they eventually did put a HD-DVD drive in the XBox instead of offering it as an add on. The point I dont see in making a 3rd model isn't anything to do with the hard drive..its the fact that the only other major upgrade to the system is the HDMI port which SHOULD have been in the original XBox 360 when it launched, the absurdity of the 360 claiming to be an HD Console and yet the connection options were VGA and component..stupid.

Let's see, who's better at making predictions, an unbiased computer algorithm or a herd of biased observers? I was quite unbiased with my predictions for the Os. Its actually pretty easy to be just on using OPS and ERA for the stats. Bedard is the only guy in the rotation that will likely turn a sub 4.00 ERA (3.25 was my estimate) although everyone with the exception of Trash-chel should be near 4 and not closer to 5. ERA for the bullpen guys are hard to predict but hopefully they'll all be lower than what they turned last year (it seems funny looking at it now that they traded for a bunch of guys who had ERAs in the 5s last year to improve a bullpen that had an ERA of 5+ last year..). Offensively, Mora will continue to slide off the face of the earth, Markakis will put up even better numbers in his 2nd season (everyone is predicting him to be the next breakout offensive star..so watch him be a huge bust), Hernandez will see a slight drop off since last year was a career year for him, Aubrey Huff should improve much playing at Camden Yards and Tejada should have an average year for himself.. oh, and to add some ST news to my posts..Jay Payton will likely start the Season on the DL With a hamstring injury of some sorts and the Os were interested in Reggie Sanders but it looks like they decided not to given they likely would have no place for him to play regularly. /would have rather had Reggie Sanders than Jay Payton..but anyway..

I read on Engadget MS is going to be making a component to HDMI adapater..which I will believe when I see it..I dont see how its possible. Anyway.. I dont see the point of a 3rd Xbox 360 model either..they almost have to be dcing the one with no hard drive. There will eventually probably be a 4th model with an even larger HD, DVR functions and HD-DVD support..maybe they can make it purple or something.

Im going to say that with only 8 matches, it leaves plenty of time for all the matches, but Im willing to bet on Taker beating Batista and then whoever wins MITB challenges him right there and beats him for the Title and ends his streak. I cannot see them letting Batista be the one to end it, even if that was the original plan. I think theres only 2 guys it could be too..Edge (to play up on his undefeated streak at WM) or Mr. Kennedy (it would certainly establish him as a big name).

to me, hes the anti-epitome of everything that is Yankee baseball and what a Yankee fan would want to root for considering he chokes every postseason and is more of a ME ME ME player than a team player..especially as long as Jeter's on the team. oh..I like this: Its hardly his choice.
