Cena vs Kahli tonight!
-
If they have Cena beat Umaga twice in 2 nights they might as well claim they traded him to ECW for Kahli.
-
I always thought it would be hillarious if he was a RB and every time he carried the ball somebody would go "Oh what a rush!"
-
Florida looks like they can come right back with a quick answer.

What exactly is CTUrookie.com? Something else I'll never get to see due to slow internet..

Itd actually come out of the "need a new car fund". No plans to buy a new TV or a blu-ray player anytime soon. It kinda sucks that you have to have a broadband connection to enjoy a console game system anymore. Dont get me wrong, love the Wii and all but I feel like Im only using about half of it without the broadband connection. And Nintendo still has never sent me the update disc they have for saves to the SD card.

Tonight has disaster of epic proportions written all over it.

I Dont know how people can eat the things dry.

Florida's going to win by 2 TDs..uh..24-10

I would think that the fact that you're on dialup is a bigger issue. I could download the games and save the downloads over sessions and resume them. It would suck because it would take forever but it would be better than nothing at all which is what I have now. And where I live, outside of satellite broadband (which I could use to download the games but would be a no go for playing actual games, not to mention the fact that its $100 a month for really low speeds) there isnt any other option and there wont be because Comcast has no intentions of serving my area and I live too far out for DSL. Where the hell in Maryland do you live, Marv? In a crackhouse in the darkest corners of PG County or something? On the Eastern Shore, somewhere between Salisbury and OC but closer to Salisbury. Its mostly farms and chicken houses out here. If I lived closer to OC I could have wireless broadband that was set up in that county, but since I dont, the county I live in must have been paid off by comcast to not allow it here even though they dont offer cable where I live.

I dont know if were talking HOF or not in here, but I wasnt expecting Ripken or Gwynn to get in unanimously, but the guy who had a ballot and returned it blank because he cant vote for anyone that played durring the steroid era needs to have his vote taken away because hes just going to waste it for the next 15 years or so. I think you could say with 99.9999999% certainty that neither Gwynn nor Ripken took steroids..

They didn't get stuck with him, they cut (or chose not to re-sign, I forget which) Trent Dilfer. They got stuck with him. Yeah, they should have kept Dilfer but they didnt. After a couple weeks it was obvious that Grbac was done as a QB in the NFL. When he got hurt and Cunningham came in and started 2 games that the Ravens won, they still went back to Grbac which pissed everyone off. I have no clue how they managed to make the playoffs that year AND win a road game in Miami but they did. Funny that Grbac retired after that year. Oddly enough, despite how much he sucked, He was the last Raven to pass for 3000 yards prior to McNair passing for 3050 yards this year. And the NFL Films music on Madden 2007..I forget the names but they're pretty cool.

Im kicking myself on Hamilton cause I knew he had cancer and I knew he wasnt in good shape the last I had heard of him. BP will pull through, at least for the short term.

Id hate to ask what happens if they win the Super Bowl.
-
I wish there was some way to download VC games on a computer instead of using the Wii since I cant hook my Wii up to internet because Im stuck on crummy dialup.

Super Bowl XXXV was the second Super Bowl to be aired in HD. Super Bowl XXXIV was the first I think, although CBS reportedly put a hell of a lot more money into their presentation than ABC did. You know who played in the first ever Super Bowl in HD..Steve McNair..you know who else..Derrick Mason! You know who else..Samari Rolle! WHOO!

the LG DVD/HD-DVD/Blu Ray Player is going to come out next month for $1200, but its not going to support all of features of either format, specifically the intereactive features of HD-DVD and the ethernet port on BluRay players. I'll pass though. Essentially its being called a Blu Ray player with limited HD-DVD playback capabilities tacked on as an afterthought. Sure, it'll play your HD-DVD movie but you're screwed if you want to use any of the special features on the discs. You can get a HD-DVD player for $400 now and either a PS3 for $600 or the potential for a $799 Blu Ray player from Samsung in the near future, which would be cheaper than the LG player, although youd need an HDMI Switch. Theres a nice thread over at AVS for the interested.

Whoever matches up vs Samari Rolle will have a good day, he gets beat at least twice a game for big gains. I figure McCallister will be paired up against Harrison which should keep him from going bonkers. And I'll go on the record and out on a limb in saying that the Ravens wont need to score 20 points total (offense/defense) to win. And I find it funny that NFL Network is hyping the hell out of "The Complete History of the Colts" DVD now.

Brian Billick History Lesson! In his first year, the Ravens went 8-8 and the very next year they went 12-4 and won the Super Bowl. In 2001, despite losing Jamal Lewis and getting stuck with the greatness that is/was Elvis Grbac, the Ravens went back to the playoffs with a 10-6 record. The Ravens stunk in 2002 because of the mass exodus due to the Salary Cap (Sam Adams, Rod Woodson, Shannon Sharpe, Jamie Sharper, Jermaine Lewis, Qadry Ismail, Sam Gash and Duane Starks as well losing Tony Siragusa to retirement). They also had the youngest roster in NFL HISTORY, starting 19 first year players and still managed to finish 7-9 that year. If that doesn't say something about how good of a coach Billick is, that he can take the youngest roster in NFL HISTORY and pull a 7-9 record out of them with a legit shot at a playoff spot (lost last 2 games), then I have no idea what more proof you would need...maybe the fact that the next year the Ravens won the AFC North with a 10-6 record? In 2004 the Ravens were again 1 game short of the playoffs with a 9-7 record despite some key injuries. Last year the team got hit by a ton of injuries on the defense, and it stuck Billick with only his 2nd (and worst) losing season as the Ravens head coach at 6-10. Of course, it was followed it up by going 13-3 which would be his best season as a head coach and another playoff spot.. I dont know how much input Billick has in the drafting that GM Ozzie Newsome does, but Newsome has almost always drafted great players (exception to Kyle Boller, but they did get Suggs that year) which was the key in not having the salary cap purge hurt the franchise as much as it could have. Still, Billick is 80-55 (.600) as the Ravens Head Coach including a 5-2 Record in the playoffs and 1 Super Bowl win. Compare that to Andy Reid (88-53, no Super Bowl Title). Id bet more people would say Reid was the better coach of the two..and yet they are comparable record wise and Billick's won a Super Bowl.
-
I learned from ESPN (OH NO!) that the last time and only time all 4 home teams won in the Wild Card round was the 2000 season playoffs when, of course..the RAVENS WON THE SUPER BOWL! Of course, the Ravens played a WC game that year (as did the Eagles)..but the Ravens didnt play one this year..so um..I dont think it matters any.

HBK might actually have to wrestle in some singles matches now..
-
I was thinking about it, and with Cowher leaving, Brian Billick is now the 3rd/4th longest tenured coach (along with Andy Reid, both started in 1999) behind Shanahan and Fisher (both started in 1996). Also, in talking about the head coaches that were assistants under Billick (Marvin Lewis and Mike Nolan), I was reminded that Jack Del Rio was the Ravens Linebackers Coach from 1999-2001 and is now of course the Jaguars head coach.

Dont forget "its the Colt's first playoff game in Baltimore in almost 30 years!" Im not really worried about the game. If the Colts play like they did vs the Chiefs for the first 3 quarters, the Ravens will win easily. And I want the Chargers to win since the Ravens already beat them once and can do it again, although if the Pats win, the AFC Championship game would be in Baltimore..but Im still more leery of the Ravens facing the Pats than either the Colts or Chargers.
