Thos shows arent stretched. A lot of tv shows pre late 80's were shot on 35 mm film which has a wider picture that was then cut down for 4:3. Universal HD takes that wider than 4:3 shot, trims off the top and bottom a bit and it provides a 16:9 picture with more picture on the sides than the 4:3 version but less on the top and bottom. Thread on Knight Rider in HD over at AVS I doubt it, at least initially. The MPEG 4 is only being used for HD Local channels right now and probably for some time. With regards to Seinfeld, the new HD transfers were the basis for all of the DVD sets released so far from what I heard. Im pretty sure it will be presented 4:3 though.

Are you absolutely serious? The BEST Defense in the NFL isn't good enough to win the Super Bowl? The Colts will see a consistant dose of the Ravens running game, even if they get down early. Billick will have a comittment to the running game regardless. And if the Colts put too much emphasis on stopping the Ravens rushing, McNair will find Todd Heap, Derrick Mason or Mark Clayton deep all day long. at least McNair's played in a Super Bowl. Peyton's destined to be the next Dan Marino.. If the Colts score 31 points on the Ravens defense (all points on the defense, not counting Colts possible defensive scores, win or lose) then I'll quit TSM for good and you'll never see me again. No, that's horseshit anywhere. The only way the defense succeeds is if the offense fails, and vice versa. It's a self-fulfilling prophesy. Except in golf, where defense has never won a championship. The ONLY reason the Ravens won the Super Bowl was because of their defense. Without that defense and their crappy inept offense, they wouldnt have even won 3 games that year. The offense didn't score a TD for 5 straight games and they still managed to win 2 of the 5 because the defense only allowed 44 points including a shutout. for cliches I was thinking "I need to step my game up" (before a game) "I stepped my game up" (after a win) and "Give it 110%"..

Im salivating now as we speak..A few of these I really dont understand (Weather Channel, Cartoon Network?). I think the part about the 70 networks is them being intentionally misleading. I don't think its saying all of those networks will be in HD, just that DirecTV has "currently has signed agreements, or agreements in principle" with them. There was no mention of HD in that sentence. I'm glad they're finally living up to their promise of more HD channels, but I'm not looking forward to the rate hike I'm sure they'll subject us to. Off that list, A&E, Nat. Geo., NFL Network (which is up part time on Directv already), Food Network, HGTV and MTV are already in HD and carried by some other providers. CNN-HD has been shooting some things in HD and did an upgrade a while ago to set up their studios for HD, and it will launch in September. TBS-HD launches in time for the MLB playoffs which they got the rights to starting this year. So that leaves the others which aren't in HD but now with an agreement to carry the HD version they can start working on them and they should be up by the 3rd quarter as stated. Those channels will probably be like A&E-HD where its "TNT Stretch-O-Vision" with only a couple real HD shows (in A&E's case, that show is CSI Miami). Also, with USA Network going to HD, that will definitely put some pressure on Vince to get RAW done in HD finally. Some of USA's shows are aired in HD on Universal HD (Monk, Law and Order SVU) so they'll have some shows in HD.

totally. even though i ragged on chave, his indictment of porn a few years ago certainly has a place here. a few people in this thread seem to be living in a fantasy land. a fantasy land which may seem alright now, but certainly seems that it can get out of hand. it does create unrealistic viewpoints of a healthy sexual relationship. wankery to is fine, but analyzation & adaptation to real sexual relationship is begging for trouble. Luckily I dont have to worry about that.

Dont get me wrong, love the Wii and all but I feel like Im only using about half of it without the broadband connection. That's because you spend time on here talking to geeks and listening to loads of indirect marketing. Online play means virtually nothing to me except racing games since it's hard as balls to find other people around who are worth a damn at them. I dont care about online play. I care about: Virtual Console Games Keeping the Wii updated. I already have to wait for them to send me the damn cd so I can save to SD cards, and each time they do some sort of major upgrade to the Wii I'll have to go through the same freakin process over again.

I was sorta hoping for an Oklahoma-esque comeback from Ohio State late but its not happening. At least make the 4th quarter worth watching.
