I try to listen to O&A when I can. I dont listen to sports talk radio much anymore since getting XM even though FOX Sports, ESPN and Sporting News are on there.

This Os/Royals game is about the most boringest 6-4 game I've ever seen in my life and its just dragging on and on..its in the 9th finally though.

To be honest I don't even think national minimum wage actually represents minimum wage anymore. A lot of states have set up their own minimum wage laws and quite a few are going to be voted on in state elections this November. I'm in total favor of letting states decide minimum wage over the federal government since a sweeping increase in minimum wage can't account for the cost of living differences between somewhere like California and Mississippi for example. Also, the majority of big proponents I see sticking their neck on the line for the minimum wage increases are unions since they like to index contracts on the minimum wage. The argument is like "well someone at Wal-Mart is getting $10 an hour for pushing carts around so since I have to work in this car factory I should be making 3-4 times that much an hour." MD upped its Min Wage to $6.15 but even that I think isnt enough, even locally where the cost of living is much less than on the other side of the Bay. It probably should be up to the states, but then I think that makes it more complicated than it should be.

Benson is going to miss his next start on Sunday due to his elbow. Possibile Candidates to fill in include Radhames Liz (AA), Hayden Penn (AAA) and Daniel Cabrera (AAA) or Bruce Chen (BOO!). I hadn't seen any stats on Cabreras work in Ottawa but he doesn't look like hes improving at all (1-1, 4.15 ERA 13 IP 6 B 10 K). Radhames Liz (odd name) in 3 starts at AA Bowie is 2-1, 2.00 ERA 18 IP 18 Ks. Penn is 3-2 1.99 ERA in 8 Starts. I say go for the Liz guy.. 18 Ks in 18 IP is pretty good. I figure Chen gets the start since it wouldnt require a roster move.

Eventually, I think the min. wage will go up because I dont know what else that can be done with the prices of everything going up and wages for most people being stagnant. Leaving things as they are is only creating bigger problems down the road.

Im not a religious person at all..but Im sure the religious nuts are probably using this as proof that the End is Near, along with all the crap thats happening in the middle east.

I just found out that Im losing my UPN station here on August 21, which means I will miss 4 weeks worth of Smackdown before CW launches September 18th. I've read that its the same scenario in some other big cities where the UPN affiliate wont become the CW affiliate and they are dropping UPN earlier than the CW launches. Smackdown is going to get hit hard in the ratings in late August and most of September. It would almost make sense to put Smackdown on hiatus for a couple of weeks given the roster issues and everything but I doubt it.

Ultimately I dont think Tejada will be traded this year, but its an inevitability he will be moved before his contract runs out, probably in an offseason deal instead of a deadline deal. Benson definitely wont be dealt now (I doubt there was much of a chance anyway) since he has elbow problems. Conine needs to be traded before he gets 107 more ABs and the guaranteed option year for 2007. Javy Lopez should be traded. I doubt anyone is desperate enough for SP that they'd go after Rodrigo Lopez but I could be surprised.

Somehow, I dont think we'll see Coke Rock anytime soon..

HD Colorstream = Toshiba's name for Component Inputs (Red/Blue/Green) If the HD-DVD player doesn't downrez the picture to DVD quality over the component inputs like I heard, then use that..it might all depend on if you have an HD Capable STB and what that needs to output over for HD.
