My check today was cashed for membership in a wireless broadband Co-Op. Supposedly, by the end of next month I will be getting 1.5 Mbps download speed (no idea of the upload speed) via a brand new wireless broadband network being set up on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland (specifically Worcester County for now) for $29.95 a month. I live too far out for Cable or DSL, so this was a blessing (as I was considering breaking down and going for Satellite which is like $60 a month and slower). Great part is that its a Co-op and the Co-op exists only to serve people who can't get broadband otherwise, so when it starts making money, they'll redistribute the profit (anything over what it costs for them to run the network) back to the members. I can hardly wait to dump my 24kbps slow ass dialup.

Well..Grenier's new gimmick is seemingly less stupid than Rob Conway's..if for the music and attire alone.

CBS has Category 7: The End of the World (sequel to last years Category 6: Day of Destruction) scheduled to air this November. My guess is, to save money they'll rebuild the city right where it is, but they'll upgrade the levees and stuff so that they don't fail the next time. I dont think theres any feasbile way they could raise the level of the city like some people are saying they should do..and not rebuilding New Orleans would seem highly unAmerican (just like they are rebuilding at the site where the WTC stood). Oh, and just every person from NOLA I've heard asked the Question "Are you planning on rebuilding or are you going to move?" has been answering "rebuild".

Now that gas is tetering on going to $4 a gallon, I think that "hybrids won't save most people any money" is going to be wrong. Of course, demand for Hybrids will be greater now, so the car companies can jack the prices up and that will probably offset the difference in the increased price of gas.

$2.69 today, and my mother called and said gas up in Delaware was $3.19.

You might not think so, but there is a difference in the consistency of Spaghetti sauce vs actual Pizza sauce. I know that both of them make Pizza sauce, but most people I know use the spaghetti sauce instead cause it comes in a bigger jar and is cheaper.
