My check today was cashed for membership in a wireless broadband Co-Op. Supposedly, by the end of next month I will be getting 1.5 Mbps download speed (no idea of the upload speed) via a brand new wireless broadband network being set up on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland (specifically Worcester County for now) for $29.95 a month. I live too far out for Cable or DSL, so this was a blessing (as I was considering breaking down and going for Satellite which is like $60 a month and slower).
Great part is that its a Co-op and the Co-op exists only to serve people who can't get broadband otherwise, so when it starts making money, they'll redistribute the profit (anything over what it costs for them to run the network) back to the members.
I can hardly wait to dump my 24kbps slow ass dialup.
