I cant see USA going for 2 wrestling shows. I know they wont put it on Friday if they do given their strong original shows on Friday Night. I doubt Vince would be able to convince anyone to pick up Smackdown, cable or network. If Smackdown isn't on tv, it almost has to be the end of the brand extension UNLESS ...Vince is desperate enough to keep the brand split idea alive that he puts Smackdown on WWE 24/7, but that would be even more of a death sentence than UPN moving it to Friday because I doubt even 1/1,000th of the people that can get UPN get WWE 24/7, even a year from now. And I would reiterate as was said in the UPN thread that the WWE probably has no say in the ultimate fate of Smackdown , given that the friday night time slot will almost surely mean lower ratings and give UPN a good excuse to just cut it regardless. Vince would almost have to convince someone to pick up the show now while the ratings are still good on a difficult night, but I dont think its going to matter. The writing is on the wall, and to me it seems that Smackdown will just become a lame duck show towards the start of next year, as I would assume UPN and USA would have to make it clear what they intend to do by then, and with the exception of a few people (Cena/Eddy/JBL/Mysterio/Big Show/Booker T?/Taker?/Angle?) most of the Smackdown talent will probably be the ones gettin the axe. Chances are , next years "draft" will be more like a contraction draft where wrestlers a picked from both shows to stay on RAW and the rest are left out in the cold...

I dont like that its only for the PS2, but what did I expect?

I should rephrase that: I could watch both, but I could only watch CSI in HD live.

Goodbye Brand Extension! On a plus side, I wont have to choose between CSI and Smackdown from now on.

Well, the bullpen did go 7 1/3 innings only giving up 1 run. Ponson had had 5 straight good starts (5-0) so he was due to blow up.

Orioles won again. 10 unanswered runs after Ponson got roughed up and they were down 8-2, they went on to win 12-8. Roberts, Palmeiro, Gibbons and Fassano hit HRs Bullpen worked all but the first 1 2/3 innings.

I wonder why so much emphasis on Super Smash Brothers as a launch title for the Revolution?

Im glad Im not the only one who had a problem with Velocitygurl. I was watching that whole presentation and thinking "If velocitygurl doesn't even play Tony Hawk, then.. A)Why would she have the game to start with unless she bought it and hated it. B)Why would she want to spend time making stuff for a game she doesn't play? C)Who would want the stuff she creates? and they came out and asked my same questions..

I cant see HD Capable games selling HD TV Sets. Interesting idea though. I would never have equated compelling HD content with HD video games, but I guess its possible.

I bet if this was a different sport, like hockey..the guy might have a shot at getting picked.

Yous igunant. Im just reacting to the fact that I turned on Sportscenter and the first thing I hear is "What the Yankees need to do to win the World Series" How about A) Get out of 4th place and B)Actually play the teams within your own division better? And yes I know that its May 17th..but it just pissed me off that everyone is writing the O's off and yet they have (tied for) the 2nd best record in baseball through just about 25% of the season, which is supposedly the litmus test for how well a team will do through the rest of the season, and I have to listen to everyone in the media trample all over each other to be the first to say that the Yankees are back and making their move back to first place based on nothing but a 9 game winning streak vs 2 teams with a combined 30-46 record that only got them from 5th place to 4th place. Its absolutely rediculous!

as an HD TV owner, I at least hope that Nintendo's stance on that is that they will support HD resolutions like Sony and Microsoft. I can see "IT DOESN'T DO HD!!" being the Revolutions "IT DOESN'T PLAY DVDS!" of the Gamecube, and I would legit be pissed if it doesn't though (unlike where I couldn't care if the GC played DVDs because I already have a DVD player). I dont care if the thing doesn't have a hard drive, I dont care if it doesn't have a HD-spec DVD format like Sony and their Blu-Ray (because neither format will be around long enough to invest in for a video library, although the Blu-Ray format might be a perfect fit for the video games, its still going to be a disc full of space mostly wasted or not utilized efficiently). "Hey, we have 50 GBs of space on this disc, lets not compress anything!"

As far as prices, I dont believe it, but someone in the Endgadget discussion said that EBgames was taking preorders for the XBox 360...for $780. Im guessing thats probably about $300 more than it will cost, but I could see the 360 seeling for $499 with a price cut to $399 (or $360?) when the PS3 comes out a year later. The PS3 will probably run $399 too. IF this is the case, I could see the Revolution running $249-$299. And please kill me, Im watching G4's E3 coverage. PLEASE KILL ME.

I think that this is more along the lines of Nintendo wanted the machine to be small, and they were able to make it as powerful as possible given the form factor they were shooting for, sorta like the Gamecube. The only reason why the XBox360 and PS3 are so much more powerful is because they are bigger and have more room for different types of cooling. Microsoft is going overboard on the 360 by using a liquid cooling system, but I bet thats the only way they could keep the thing from overheating.

A current Gamecube pad has analog support, a d-pad, 4 face buttons, L, R, and a Z button, plus the C-stick (which replaces the c-buttons in the GC ports of OOT/MM). A GC controller is good enough to play NES, SNES, and N64 games. If they managed to build onto that design without compromising the functionality of the a GC controller, then there's no real problem. Technically, you don't even need digital support anymore in most games, because an analog stick can simply take over digital functions, but Sony and MS are keeping it, because if nothing else, it allows for 4 possible extra buttons if a game requires it. All I could think of when I was reading that they would be offering the old games: Retro Wireless (NES/SNES/N64) controllers..and an adapter for the Wavebird reciever to plug into the USB ports or something.

I dont know about anyone else, but I dont need a box the size of a first generation DVD player just to play games. The X Box 360 and PS3 are only as big as they are because they want to do more than just freaking play games on them. In the case of the X Box 360...just get a freaking computer, its basically the same at this point. As far as "The Revolution will be woefully underpowered" I dont think thats a problem. It will take 2 or 3 years for developers to pull out the "power potential" of either the XBox 360 or PS3, and by that time, they'll be out hyping the XBox 720 and the PS4. There might be a few games for each console that will pull off the full potential for those consoles, but it wont be for 3 years at least. Plus they unvieled the Game Boy Micro. That thing is pretty awesome.

1 Pad for each hand Please dont let that be the controller. I could handle the other picture render of the console here making it out to look like a Mac Mini clone, but those controllers wont cut it. True 2 seperate control pads with gyroscopic control and whatever the "Advanced Analogic Button" is sounds "Revolutionary, it would probably take too much getting used to, to be able to be used.. I just realized that Nintendo's conference is 9 am tomorrow and in all likelyhood they will show off the Revolution, so its only 8 hours more to go..

Its pretty cool that they thought enough to actually work Mandy into this season's storyline.. Next season Jack will be breaking out of a chinese prison.
