Doing this gave me an extra 150 points for my 5 deaths (4x25 + 25x2 for my best bet death). Also, the remaining 14 people alive on my list are a lot more famous.

So does this mean that you are advocating complete federal control of the oil companies (i.e. nationalization)? The whole argument I am making is in terms of supply and demand. Currently our supply isn't high enough and as India/China grow those supplies become harder to get. With more supply on the market, the price is bound to fall because people will know they don't have to pay "x" amount for the oil they are getting. The oil companies don't have to lower prices on their own, the market would work and force them to do so. Now, I'm not saying its a simply solution in the price game because if you want gas prices to fall BUILD SOME NEW REFINERIES! We haven't build a new refinery in the U.S. since 1974, which is absolutley ridiculous based on the growth rate in population and economically we've experienced since that time. We have a bottleneck on the supply front for gas and THAT is really where anyone who wants to solve the high prices dilemma needs to start looking. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised to hear some blowhard come out next year in Congress arguing for a "right to gas" and trying to push through a price cap on the gasoline...which will inevitable lead to shortages and it'll be the gas lines all over again. That'll show the oil companies! We dont have a right to gas anymore. That would be like saying we have a right to pollute the atmosphere and cause global warming, killing poor kids in Africa and polar bears in the Arctic region with every mile we drive our dirty pollutmobiles. If anything, come next year they will whine and complain that they dont have enough money to pay off all the crap that Obama is gonna push through even with the massive tax hikes, so as a favor for to the environmental movement they'll probably raise gas taxes to like $.50 a gallon to pay for them and stiffle gas usage even more. This will make the enviromentalists happy since it will artificially keep the price of gas higher. It'll be just like a tax on cigarettes..Gas is bad for the Environment (just like cigarettes are bad for everyone) so they have to tax it to make you stop using it since they cant get you to stop using it on your own..just watch. Its precisely the reason why gas prices are much higher in Europe and our government all of a sudden seems to have a hardon for the European way of doing things.. The only reason anyone is paying over $4 for gas now is because their state and local taxes are high. If the taxes were removed, some people would be paying less than $3 for gas.

I got bit by the injury bug losing McCann to a concussion (possibly out a couple weeks since the Braves are out of contention) and Young for a week (Im not gonna bother picking a SS up for one week since there aren't any good SS available)

Did they really think that Tex was going to take about a $30+ million hometown discount? The Yankees are going to break the bank to get him. Peter Angelos supposedly REALLY wants him which means he might be willing to outspend even the Yankees to get him. Which basically means if they get him, he'll end up being the next Albert Belle since Belle was the last guy Angelos wanted badly enough to overspend to get. the Os will probably have a lot of salary coming off the books anyway here if they can trade guys like Payton and Huff, though Aubrey is making a case for them to think twice about dealing him.

Os fans are pissed because it looks like they'll miss out on signing Tex whos from around the area and they were hoping to sign him as a FA.

Adam Jones needs a 2B for the cycle but I dont think they'll get back to him in the 9th (Due up 6th). Still 3-5, Grand Slam 3B and 5 RBI is a career night for him.

Directv is going to offer 1080P movies by the end of the year, but it doesn't look like current hardware is capable of getting it. They are also adding 30 more HD Channels on August 14th to bring the total to 130.

Adam Jones nearly missed 2 grand slams earlier in the season but he just jacked one out to make it 11-0 Orioles. Awesome.

When I went to Hershey Park for the first time back in 1996, my dad tricked me into getting on the Superdooperlooper after I had said repeatedly I didnt want to ride roller coasters. Ended up riding every one they had back then (which wasnt many compared to now) and almost lost my glasses that I wore back before I went to High School and got contact lenses. Oh, and I got the last two cases of Pomegranate Rockstar drinks for $10 each that my Big Lots had, even though I still had a case left from the last time I bought them. Im gonna miss not having any when I finally run through them since I wont pay $2 a can for them no matter how good they are.

I have Vantage Point and the Ruins on hand and in my queue I have Bankjob, Bucket List, Shutter and the 3 Disc John Adams Mini Series. Ive rented probably 350 movies since October of 2004 between in the mail and free in store rentals through blockbuster, and Im still on the $19.99 plan free in store returns and unlimited 3 out in the mail which now runs $35.

I saw the X Files today, and aside from some questionable casting (Xibit as a FBI agent! Billy Connolly as a Catholic Priest that molested 37 altar boys and then suddenly found "psychic" abilities and decides to help out the FBI ..hmm..actually on second thought he did better than anyone else I could think of that they could get for the role) and a piss poor storyline (FBI needs Mulder back to help them solve the case of a missing rookie FBI Agent by refuting/debunking Father Joe's Psychic abilities..what the hell did they think he would conclude?) it still wasnt a bad movie but its got nothing really for anyone outside of the X files fanbase which essentially doomed the movie to not make much money since even the X Files fanboys will probably only go see it once. The reason for the disapearance of the Agent was actually very X Filesish and creepy but it was disapointing that it wasn't aliens or anything of that nature.

I also never knew the Os got Roberts and Bedard as supplemental picks for Palmeiro going back to Texas.

You don't get the Eskay Hot Dog race or Old Bay Crab Hide at home though. Also, Im really disapointed that the majority of the Os like Will Farrell over Jim Carrey. No one let him no baseball players like him or else we'll end up with Will Farrell in a wacky baseball comedy set in the 80's or something.

The Os finally won a Sunday game, vs the Angels of all the teams they could do it against. I really hope it wasn't because Millar had the whole team wearing thongs, I haven't heard if they did or not.

Im getting a ticket to the Ravens/Falcons last preseason game late in August. End Zone Seat about halfway up for $20 on Stubhub. The last preseason game is pretty much the regulars playing most of the game and will be much better than spending $150 to sit a mile up for a regular season game. Im looking forward to the season actually..I think the AFC North is wide open and if the QB situation pans out better than should be expected than maybe they could contend for the playoffs.

I remembered hearing about the dying professor who gave a really inspirational "Last Lecture" last year on the news and I remembered watching it on youtube and seeing other news stories about him.

JJ Abrams gave him a cameo in the new Star Trek Movie. there are more. Just because YOU never heard of someone does't mean that they aren't famous. He inspired millions of people in the last 2 years.
