I dont get how people can just cast aside the flip flop on public financing. He's also flip flopping on the telecom immunity issue. Its been about a month since he got the nomination and he's flip flopped on two issues already. He's at least getting flack over the telecom issue which to me at least shows he's not got the party wrapped around his finger but the telecom immunity issue isn't a big enough issue to make that much of a difference in the end..but it is a start. In fact, the article I linked to is pretty good.. in other words, he's like every other politician known to man. Also, the article states that Obama was for the death penalty if applied to child rapists but against it if applied to "gang offenses". Gee...

Matt Wieters not being in the Futures game is a joke. Anderson and Teagarden, 2 of the 3 US Catchers were Future Teamers last year (how is that possible, if they were the future last year doesn't that make them the present by now..they're still the future?). But, I found out that the US team is primarily probably going to be the team that goes to China for the Olympics and Wieters might get called up in August if they trade Ramon Hernandez...so...my anger is lessened but Im still kinda ticked off.

Holy shit, you can sue a city for being a bureaucracy? The NRA keeps on insisting that the fact that there are only 38,000 people with handgun permits in NYC (2006 figure) out of 8,000,000 suggests that the NYPD, which oversees the permit process, acts in a very biased way towards anyone who isn't rich when approving the permits. Everyone else gets the run around and by dragging it out it increases the cost of the permit to the point that its not worth a permit. I found this slightly out of date (by 8 years) article on the forms needed to obtain a permit: It shouldnt take almost a year to get a permit for anything, even in a city of 8 million people when they only get at most 2,000 applications a year. Its not being done to be bureaucratic, its being done on purpose to keep regular people from owning guns in NYC. Someone who fights this will no doubt win given the Supreme Courts decision. Also, for reference..I dont own a gun, dont want to own one and wouldnt even probably be able to pull a trigger and shoot at anything if I had to. BUT, I do recognize the necessity for people to have the right to own a gun to protect themselves and their property. It was put in the Constitution specifically to give Americans protection from our own government, not from wild animals, Indians and the Brittish or for hunting purposes.

I can set up the money league if theres enough interest. I did run a football league for TSM like..6 years ago (anybody remember that?) on a different free service that didnt turn out so well but I think Yahoo should be easier. For it to be worth anything we would need at least like 12 teams, but the more the merrier. Just go ahead and PM me if your interested in the idea and if I get enough people that say they are interested by say Sunday or so, I'll set up the league. The good news is if you sign up for this league and did the RME deal, the stat tracker/draft kit carries over to up to 4 teams as long as its the same Yahoo ID. I'd still reccomend doing the offer for the free Stat Tracker/Draft Kit/$10 though even if you dont want to do a money league.

Lets see how good the Cubs bullpen is if they have to come in and pitch 8 2/3 innings today because Marquis gets knocked out in with 1 out in the 1st. The Bullpen had the 4th best ERA in the AL, and given the situation of having to come in and pitch 7 2/3 innings I think they did well only giving up 3 runs to the Cubs, too bad the damage was done off Albers. I dont have very high hopes for today with Liz in there. He only made it through 2 innings his last start vs Milwaukee and I dont see how he can be expected to get at least 6 which is what they need after yesterday.
