  1. One of my friends is a big fan of Carlin's and has tried to get me into his stand-up on numerous occasions, but I don't really find him to be terribly funny. This is sad news regardless.
  2. Moderation is the treick people. I myself am drunk again now, but due to experience I am more able to type properly than I wos when i first started this thread.
  3. Why would anyone do cocaine at a Radiohead concert? I don't plan to take cocaine at the concert itself Czech. I mean, I want to remember the experience entirely.
  4. Anti-Polish sentiment probably would be one of the things that angers me, but it's all so ridiculous that I just cannot picture myself getting worked up over it anyway. The most prevalent joke about them in England is that they're all bus drivers.
  5. Narcoleptic Jumper and MillenniumMan831 are both posters to watch in 2008!
  6. You're not taking the right melatonin then Matt, because whether I consume it or not is definitely the deciding factor w/r/t whether I actually get to sleep on any given night.
  7. You're off your rocker, Yankee. If you can get past the gibberish lyrics to this song, and really, given that the quality of a song is rarely determined by the quality of the words behind it you should be able to, then it becomes quite obvious that "Hello Goodbye" boasts a better melody and is just generally more catchy than virtually any other Beatles song. Infact, had I posted in this thread on a different day then I might have declared it to be my favourite.
  8. "Magical Mystery Tour", "Flying" and "Blue Jay Way" are all far worse in terms of songs from the same album. Having said that, Magical Mystery Tour is probably my favourite Beatles record outside of the golden five.
  9. That's juat an hour-glass figure boy, she looks womanly.
  10. I'm 17 now, didn't you get the memo? I've mostly replaced my drinking habit with a steady supply of marijuana, 'shrooms and the occasional bit of LSD. I should be getting hold of some cocaine and salvia when I go to see Radiohead next week as well.
  11. Oh, you're absolutely correct on that one. Even "Jones", a surname which is adorned by one in ten Welsh families, is of English origin.
  12. They have the most interesting history of any religion though, aside from reformation-era Christianity.
  13. Yeah, it said that my entirely Welsh mother's surname (Reed) was English. Maybe the website is just biased against Wales itself.
  14. I think it is Carnival himself who now has just reason to be scared.
  15. Use this URL: http://www.surnamedb.com/surname.aspx?name= followed by your surname to find out. Surname: Gilbert Recorded as Gilbert and the patronymic Gilbertson, this is an English surname, but one recorded throughout the British Isles. It is of Norman-French and even earlier pre 7th century Germanic origins. It derives from the personal name variously spelt as Gislebert, Guilbert or Gilebert. However spelt it is a compound with the elements "gisil", meaning a noble youth, and "berht", bright or famous. It is first recorded in England in the famous Domesday Book of 1086 and in the Latinized form of Gislebertus, and appears as a surname in the early 13th century (see below). The given name as Gilbert was very popular in medieval England, partly owing to the fame of St. Gilbert of Sempringham, (1086 - 1189), and the founder of the only native English monastic order. Early examples of the surname recording taken from surviving church registers of the diocese of Greater London include Anna Gylberte, who was christened on June 20th 1548, at St. Michael's Cornhill, and Anne, the daughter of Harry Gilbert, who was christened on December 21st 1558, at St. Matthew's, Friday Street, also in the city of London. Henry Gilbert, aged 38, was a "famine" emigrant who sailed from London aboard the ship "Northumberland", bound for New York on April 9th 1846. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Willelmus Gilberti. This was dated 1202, in the Curia Regis rolls of the county of Wiltshire, during the reign of King John of England, 1199 - 1216. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.
  16. Yes - Fragile (1972)
  17. There's just a certain level of sneaky satisfaction to taking a shit in a girl's draw that's absolutely perfect.
  18. Not too far off, "Fixing a Hole" is my favourite. I would have predicted "I am the Walrus" as being Milky's favourite Beatles song.
  19. Orchestral flourishes appeal to The Czech Republic, as he is well versed in classical music itself. He also has a strong pro-McCartney bias. His favourite song by The Beatles is "Eleanor Rigby".
  20. That was written by John Lennon though.
  21. I demand an elaboration.
  22. I'm going to present that as an advisable course of dieting to all of my overweight friends.

    Andrew WK

Czech's head is really going to explode after I click the "add reply" button and the point is driven home one more time. Andrew WK is perfectly acceptable, but I shall probably never truly be a fan for similar reasons to Czech.
  24. Now that I come to consider it, my only vomit-inducing alcohol related experience was also suffered at the hands of red wine.
  25. The phrase "cheer up, it may never happen" and all of its purporters. This is, on average, said to me around twice a week, which is a far greater ratio than any of my aquiantances are forced to endure. It also has a terrible psychiological effect on me, since I become convinced that I have a miserable exterior everytime that I encounter it. It almost makes me crave the South-East of England, where nobody ever so much as makes small talk with those that they do not know personally.
