  1. Do you think that my new TSM handle might pass mere misogyny and go straight into dullness? I somewhat regret conceptualising it already.
  2. You're insinuating that Morrissey's a homosexual, aren't you?
  3. I think I was banned due to inactivity, having only ever made one post. It was regarding my desire to read In Cold Blood, something that I never quite got around to doing.
  4. I don't drink cider, but that's more due to my adversity w/r/t people stereotyping themselves than anything else.
  5. Unspecified.
  6. I use athletic as my body type on Myspace, and I have no visible muscle outside of my legs. I set it because I'm a runner, and being lanky does help me with that.
  7. A lot of Zappa's records are companion pieces to each other. That doesn't mean that they were released as part of the same package, just that they share many musical elements. He was so prolific that this was bound to happen from time to time. I was refering to the semantic field of instruments that appear on Waka/Jawaka.
  8. My compulsive need to sign myself up for everything like this would only have done me harm in the long run, so it's a good job that I missed the registration period.
  9. Frank Zappa - Waka/Jawaka (1972) Sure, "Your Mouth" and "It Might Just Be a One Shot Deal" are both perfectly good songs, but the title track and "Big Swifty" - the album's two expansive instrumentals - are where its real meat and potatos are to be found. I'm a complete and total novice when it comes to jazz, but the common theme amongst that which I have enjoyed, is that guitars play a prominent role throughout. That's especially true here, with Zappa's electric taking main stage alongside a wonderfully complimentary supporting cast of electric piano, baritone horn, tenor sax, trumpet, bass clarinet, flugelhorn and chimes. Not wanting to allow one of my write ups to descend into a mere semantic field, I shall also note that The Grand Wazoo, which Agent selected earlier, is a companion piece to this record.
  10. Brody is both everything I would want to be, and everything I'd never want to be at the same time. It makes for quite the contrast. He's not going to get banned on the previously banned poster rule (which the new regime has admitedly eased up on a lot) is he? I'd hate to have to say "fare thee well" to such a luminary!
  11. No, it was definitely the dude in the picture.
  12. Wait, that dude eventually joined their church? Granted, I only saw the beggining of his documentry, but he appeared to reserve nothing but criticism for them.
  13. More like 12 million actually, only half of the Nazi party's (homeland) victims were Jewish.
  14. Also, when will skinny jeans die out? The only purpose they really serve is as a pointer not to talk to whoever's wearing them.
  15. "Against" would be a better word than "for" in that sentence.
  16. Click was fine in parts, a lot of it filled me with pure unadulterated warm embarrassment though.
  17. Finally, a non self referential post from TaigaStar!

  19. Belated bullet points on Station to Station: The title track is just about the most wonderfully wierd epic song I've ever heard. Yeah, the disco breakdown and onwards is the best part of the song, but even so, what else sounds like the six minutes leading up to it? I love the keyboards in the song, and - by Bowie's standards - the lyrics are pretty fucking abstract. I know that "Word on a Wing" has somewhat Christian lyrics, and thus a lot of people dislike it, but I still think it's a good track. The keyboard part is catchy, and the vocals have a certain gut wrenching quality to them. "Golden Years" is insanely danceable. Those guitars are as delicious as sin. "TVC15" is a glorious piano romp, and definitive proof of the existence of the upside of cocaine abuse. Its melody's gorgeous. So yeah, great album. Probably my favourite of Bowie's: the only real competition is Hunky Dory.
  20. I have Deltron 3030 and I Wish My Brother George Was Here to See This.
  21. Great choice! He'd probably make my top 20, and - were I to sample more of his work - might even overtake Big Boi as my favourite rapper.
  22. Milkmen aren't common in the States anymore? Fuck, I don't think that I've ever not had a milkman, regardless of which side of England I've been living on. I will pretty much just drink anything that's put in front of me. I'm not exactly drinking for the love of the taste anyway. However, I have developed somewhat of a fondness for White Kronenbourg. Fosters is pure putrid piss marketed as alcohol, and doesn't take effect quickly enough to boot, you might as well just be drinking flavoured water.
  23. If that's a board policy, then it would atleast explain one thing: Group: Members Posts: 4,494 Joined: 1-July 04 From: Canada Member No.: 5,285
  24. Somebody should give Milky the "KOAB modship award".
  25. I've done that as well, but if booze is present at home and you're bored, then why the fuck not? Also: I've been kicked out of two of my friends' houses and walked out on at Pizza Hut on account of my drunkeness (I ordered five separate pizzas and refused to share them. I later had to run because I had no money). That's not very fun.
