  1. Uh oh! If Hogan reads this you know what Hogan will start saying? That he was the precursor to Steve Austin in the 90's Hell, didn't Russo turn Hogan into Steve Austin for a few weeks in wcw Really dumb idea Russo!
  2. Seriously, I see the booking theory with Taker winning. He becomes focused after not getting his title shot at the Rumble by winning the Rumble for the first time ever. Crowd erupts and they pimp Taker's winning streak a la Andre at WM 23 and also pimp the high percentage of RR winners winning the title at Mania and THE ANVIL drops and Taker loses just like Andre. Great idea, BUT BATISTA SUCKS NOW and doesn't deserve this storyline. Maybe if he kept his heat from the HHH feud it would be a different story. Well, I'm surprised they didn't do this with Superman from RAW, but they know EVERYONE will BOO the hell out of their merchandise golden goose. With HHH it would be a different story. I won't be surprised if HBK wins since they are downplaying it so much in the sheets. Sounds like they put that out there on purpose. Did anyone see the super Rumble at the wwe website where they put all the greatest RR contenders in one match and fans decide who gets eliminated. Vince and Bushwhacker were first two to go.
  3. That's what I was saying. Hogan always acted a bit heelish. Just listen to Ventura's commentary. I guess Hogan learned from SuperStar's mistake. He kept some of his heel antics as a super babyface because the fans liked that. This is what I'm talking about. Look at Hogan after the Mega-Powers exploded on NBC. Does anyone remember Hogan walking backstage looking for Macho and draping up babyfaces onto the wall like The Anvil and Shawn Michaels? I bet Hogan would have revisionist history and say he did that to upstage Macho turning heel that night or some other crap. The fact was Hogan just loved the damn camera as Jesse would say. He was just being Hogan. If Hogan really wanted to sabotage Warrior's reign he could have turned heel right at the moment he handed him the belt, but that idea was years before its time and would not happen in 1990. EVERYBODY would be talking about what Hogan did and it might have got Warrior more over too(doubt it as Hogan would have all the heat) as a face back then(actually I think Hogan was getting stale and "Hollywood" Hogan vs. Warrior might have had a chance to sell out the LA Coliseum). Even as a heel Hogan would act face with those winks and grins as if he was telling his fans you know what's up.
  4. DING DING DING!!! Just like that crap about Hogan saying he knew Warrior was going to fail and upshowed him at the end of the match. SURE!! Hogan always did that kind of stuff back then, plus it was face vs. face and it was before the days of shock value and Hollywood Hogan. I wonder if the wwe thought of doing Batista/Orton for the title. There is a backstory there, but using Taker's streak as a draw agains the champ is much more appealing to the mainstream I suppose.
  5. You know there was rumours of Austin coming back for a breif run. AUSTIN in the RUMBLE IN TEXAS. HEAT GALORE!!!!!!!! UT/HBK/AUSTIN in the finals in Texas would go over gangbusters.I know it doesn't help the younger guys, but I wouldn't pass up what could be the hottest finish in Rumble history. So, I guess X-Pac in DX makes sense. Hossan against Hogan in his last match would be a good story since they like to pretend Hulkamania started with Hogan vs. Shieky at MSG. Jericho I have to see to believe, but the countdown clock would be awesome and shocking.
  6. Man, they should just put Hogan and Austin in a tag team against Umaga/Khali and call it day. Too bad Hogan and Austin can't agree on anything for this historic show.
  7. I think Hunter the poster is right. HBK/Cena will mean more now and seem more real. I think the problem may actually be Cena going over HBK. They are not going to job Cena to HBK with how they see Cena as superman for the new era. I think UT is winning the Rumble anyways. He was screwed out of the title shot and if he wins the Rumble I think he's going to lose at Mania due to how they are hyping the Rumble winner's chance of getting the win at Mania is a high percentage. Good booking, but Batista shouldn't get the rub. It should be Edge and I'm not that big a fan of the guy, but he would use that rub a million times better than Batista and he isn't injury prone and old as Batista. As for the HOF, I still think that Hogan thing was a work. They are probably looking at forums and seeing what the hardcore fans think of these choices and go from there. Mr. Fuji should be in the HOF for taking the second best DDT by Jake(nothing touches Steamboat on SME). Anyone remember that comedy show that was Jake DDTing Fuji and the man was shaking like a BUTT in a hip hop video and his HAT stayed on his head? That was hilarious. It was after a Sika match on SNME.
  8. It becomes more painfully obvious as time passes too. It would be nice to see him again, but I don't blame him for avoiding this "new and improved" soap opera/bad celebrity filled wwe we have today. The same with Austin and Jericho. Hogan gets away with it somewhat because Hogan was before the time of the attitude era and fans are harping on how things were before, so Hogan is an escape to earlier times(although just PLEASE stop at WM 23). The only problem I had with The Rock on the mic at times was that he sometimes was TOO GOOD at trash talking and made you not take his challenger or contender seriously. I mean people talk about HBK doing one on Hogan before SummerSlam, but Rock ate Hogan alive during weeks before NWO on time on tv and Hogan knew it so much that he talked to Vince about it. When Rock use to do it at first it didn't hurt the other guy, but as time went on it did. I mean, Billy Gunn, Kane, or Big Show anyone. Some of the funniest insults ever and it stuck with them. I will say that one time Rock came walking down the aisle and had the whole arena following his words sometime in 1999 was the greatest thing I ever seen in terms of a wrestler holding the audience captive with a mic. Seriously....
  9. Totally agree
  10. This made me laugh the most. If Vince signs him, There is no reason in the world to not get Randy Savage under a legends contract. Did'nt ya hear? MACHO going to the Hall
  11. That's what I thinking. Bushwhackers before RICKY STEAMBOAT???
  12. Hmmm...interesting viewpoints here. The wwe people would be saying you guys are the ones out of touch, but the CM Punk comments, Rosie/Trump nonsense and HHH's injury and how they are running around like chickens does shed light on how they operate. I don't hate HHH as others, but it is true. He has not been that great over his career in comparison to how they protect and book him. I bet his argument is 2000 in terms of ratings, buy-rates, and house show attendance as prove as him being a draw, but we all know that was really Rock's drawing power at the time. The wwe did not even have confidence to book the guy in a solo match at Mania that year and that says a lot with how hot the company was then. The love triangle storyline also helped him that year too. However, 2001 belonged to heel Austin and all that invasion crap. Is it a coincidence the brand split and HHH's title reign era that took over in 2002 until perhaps the dropping of the title to Batista haven't been that hot? Of course, the wwe will find some excuse to explain this.
  13. You know I'm fully behind the HBK/Cena supporters all over the net, but there was one person who made some interesting comments on why Vince may balk on doing this match. 1. HBK outshining Cena in the match causing the boos to come back fill circle. You know how Angle outshined him at Survivor Series in '05? 2. Which HBK is Vince going to have to deal with? If he's asked to job is he going to Diesel/Hogan the match to make Cena look stupid? 3. What the hell are they going to do turning HBK full heel and he ends up jobbing and then leaves for time off? 4. Cena is going to get booed worse than last year with 70,000 fans against him which JR and King can't twist around 5. Which HBK is Vince going to have to deal with? Some good observation here, but damn it book HBK/Cena and let HBK tear down the house. Cena survived that ecw arena match with RVD. I don't think he'll get a more hostile situation than that. Plus, if HBK is for real and believes it should be all about the new guys he'll be about making Cena look good. Of course...it is Shawn Michaels we are talking about here. We saw what he did in the Hogan match.
  14. You guys are mean. Making fun of a grandfather and freak like that
  15. Actually, they could get creative with HBK and have him go for the title and say he will do what HHH couldn't do last year and defeat Cena turning HBK a tweener. We know how much they want Cena to be this generation's Hogan or Rock or Austin, so have HHH comeback at the side of John Cena and you got a whole new dynamic to the match. Cena won't get booed if HHH backs him on crutches against HBK who took advantage of HHH's injury to position himself as a contender. Of course, this is too pro wrestling like and they want to do stuff Donald Trump vs. Vince Mcmahon.
  16. I agree they need a match of Hogan/Andre or Hogan/Warrior levels. A match to make a change that lasts an age. That is why they are using Taker's winning streak. It's like Andre's winning streak heading into WM 3. I just don't think it should be Batista up against him. I agree it should be Edge because he will definitely run with it. Batista is injury prone and truth be told he hasn't been as over as he was at the time HHH put him over. So what you will about Cena, but the guy does have a strong reaction either way. UT/Batista should happen at the Rumble and have UT take the strap. Let Edge win the Rumble. Now it would be nice to play on WM history with Orton and he could win as well which would lead to Legend Killer against Legend at Mania. Too bad he lost to Hogan already and jobbed to Taker 2 years ago(doesn't even seem that long). However, if we must keep in the realm of what wwe will and can do Batista/Taker is still better than Batista/Cena at the moment. Cena going over Batista will kill his heat imo. If Batista wins over Cena then what? He goes back to smackdown with no title or heat to play off a smackdown guy? I have my doubts about HBK/Cena even happening, so let's assume Cena/Orton is the match because that was rumoured to happen before HHH got injured anyways. They better have RKO kill off DX next week and just let HBK go home and rest/surgery or whatever and return when HHH does. Vince won't do that though thinking of the loss of a guy like HBK. He'll keep him around to hype Mania, but that is what they could do. Then have RKO stick together and taunt Cena leaving Cena to fend off against them leading to Orton/Cena/Edge at Mania. I would do this if I had a position at Titan Towers taking in what investors would want financially..... WWE Title Match DX HBK against Cena Just play the sympathy card with HBK in his last title match doing it for his best buddy yadda yadda World Title Match UT/Edge ECW Title RVD vs Lashley UT against Edge MITB Orton/CM Punk in the finish Hulk Hogan vs. Khali(but I would push for Hogan/Austin vs. Big Show/Khali(I know that aint happening though) WWE Tag vs. World Tag (non title) Battle of the brands Interpromotional Batisa vs. Umaga Women's title match King's Court vs. ??? Flair vs. Kenny (some crap where they say Kenny's new Flair because that's what they are doing now) ECW match The 12 matches is a salute to the 12 matches that happened at Mania 3 I don't know....
  17. That probably would be the card. However, I always love these threads at this time of year seeing what everyone would do if they were Vince Mcmahon. Would it actually be better or likely to make more money than what Vince would do is always a riot. You know, seeing stuff like Kendrick in the title match against Benoit or something(not slighting the guys or anything, but we all know that aint happening in the real world for various reasons).
  18. Does he still have a hard on to break Flair's record? Got to admit people could not have seen 2 years without HHH holding the big title.
  19. That's what I'm saying Orton/Cena could work, but I actually think they shouldn't do it for the sake of Orton. He will just JOB again and they are trying to make him an established main eventer for years ahead, plus the build up will suck unless they play it off that he "legend killed" DX. Last year he "choked" ending the streak, while Batista will maybe end it this year. Then seeing him JOB in the title match will only make things worse. Better to give Orton the big push when they REALLY have trust in the guy or have it as a solid plan. Look at that crap last year with Rey Mysterio and Angle with the pathetic attempt to try to get him heat with the Eddie insults. It will be just the same again this year if they just plop him into the main event with Cena.
  20. The ghost of Owen Hart still haunts Kemper Arena. And it has a sense of humor! Enough was Enough and It was Time for a change You guys are jokes!!!! 2 much! It's kind of true though. Enough was enough with the same man in the main event. Although as said, this is wrestling and truth be told HHH is a tough guy and will just fight it out and probably do the Mania match. You know to prove some silly tough guy thing to himself and perhaps try to one up Kurt Angle's Mania 19 appearance. U know how the inside back and forth going on there.
  21. If HBK really believes he's "the greatest wrestler of his era" I'm sure he'd have no problem playing it up in a heel way. Now everyone will be excited for a heel HBK against Cena match and we know the chances of that happening.
  22. Well, HBK/UT as the last 2 in Texas writes itself!!!!
  23. I don't think the wwe will change Batista/UT simply for the storyline connection with WM 3's Hogan/Andre similarities. ANIMAL VS UNDERTAKER CHAMP VS. UNDEFEATED STREAK MONSTER VS. MONSTER The match outcome will be in doubt somewhat because they have Andre as UT and for some reason they think Batista is like Warrior or Hogan back in the day. If Batista breaks the streak it will be hyped as Hogan defeating Andre and ending his streak. I see why they want to do this match. Cena/Hogan in a retirement match is a problem. The fans will WANT Hogan to win just like Rock vs Hogan to see who was "the best ever". Hogan/Rock will happen where fans won't want the guy they will see years from now win against Hogan in his last match. Cena/Hogan is a problem if they want to keep Cena face. Ultimate Warrior had the same problem getting booed in arenas after Mania for beating Hogan. People forget that happened with Warrior initially as champ and it just got worse. Why take the chance with Cena who they are grooming to be the face(he is actually) of the company in Hogan's last match? Unless they want to turn him heel.
  24. Hogan against Cena right now will RUIN Cena. If Cena was still getting those crazy responses like early to mid last year it would be a different story. Plus, the 20th anniversary hype and Cena is dead in that ring with Hogan unless they want to turn Cena heel.
  25. Let's hope not. I have to agree with that poster in the other thread about HBK paying HHH payback by saying HE DROPPED the ball this time and DX is done and he guns for Cena's title. Cena/Umaga will not be the WM main event. Vince won't do that for Mania. They pushed the feud from SummerSlam for the same reason why they won't have it at the big show. Umaga just isn't that type of ppv challenger. They used Federline and the streak to get him heat. Now, that is sort of gone now with Cena beating him.
