That would certainly be something. He'd probably look more alive than Tony LaRussa.

As great as the L eena=Peter word filter is, it's making things really complicated in No Holds Barred. Also, my thread title in said folder is all screwed up because of it.

I don't know what any of these things area. Care to explain a little?

I like this idea. Let's select a book by the first of March.

For those who haven't noticed, there is a Literature folder now on the main page where the old Comics section was located. We're trying to build something from nothing there, so if you are interested stop by and offer suggestions, make threads and add comments.

Brad Miller's good, but I don't see how he makes a big improvement long-term. He could be a missing piece for several teams out there, but in Chicago he's wasted. As for Salmons, I must ask: how many one-dimensional wing players do the Bulls need?

Somewhere along the way I acquired a subscription to Men's Vogue. I think it had something to do with Mrs. Tremendous' subscription to regular Vogue. Anyways, the magazine blew chunks and usually ended up directly in the recycling pile on the way back from the mailbox. Unsurprisingly, it went belly-up and they replaced it with Conde Nast Portfolio, which I have yet to read. Are there any decent music magazines left out there? I've never even tried Spin, but I've heard less-than-great things.

Link According to the Sacramento Bee, the Kings also traded Michael Ruffin to the Portland Trailblazers for Ike Diogu and $1 million in cash.

Blogs have essentially taken over the internet world, managing to both gain in popularity and draw the ire of every newspaper employee across the country in recent years. They basically run the gamut from can't miss to unreadable drivel, with 95% of them falling somewhere in between. What blogs do you read?

Hidden somewhere in the Sports folder are threads on sports blogs and sports books. Could we maybe get those moved to the Lit folder for the time being?

Amazon just released the second version of their popular Kindle Wireless Reading Device. For whatever reason, I have a hard time getting behind an electronic reading device. Unlike an ipod with my music collection, I don't have a desire to carry around dozens and dozens of books. Is anyone using this device? Any thoughts on how it works and what the advantages and disadvantages are?

Currently, I have subscriptions to GQ, Esquire and Details. I graduated to this group of magazines once I realized that I had outgrown Maxim and Stuff (otherwise known as my 18th birthday). GQ and Esquire are both great for the articles and male advice. Details is hit and miss. At times in the past I've been a reader of Rolling Stone and The Source, but I find that neither satisfies my musical interest like they used to. Occassionally I'll grab a Rolling Stone if I'm at the airport and or I am intrigued by an article. In fact, there is a biting article on Artie Lange's downward spiral this month that was fascinating. The author didn't pull any punches whatsoever. I've never been one to subscribe to sports magazines. The internet has basically killed that market dead. So, what, if anything, are you guys reading nowadays?

The TSM Weight Loss Contest

188 last night. I'm down 7 pounds since the start of this exercise. If I can shed 2 or 3 more I'm golden. Get those updates to me today. -
Interesting tidbit from espn.com.

Can't it be both?

The Rockets need to go for it now because that window is closing fast. Adding Carter to Yao is a move that could get them somewhere in the playoffs even if it comes with a ton of risk. We know Artest has no future there, so it's basically a swap of Battier for Carter long-term. I don't think that McGrady will be back next year so if there is an opportunity to add an All-Star player to the lineup you do it.
-
So does McGrady retire after the surgery or is he going to come back and hobble around as a shell of his former self like Penny Hardaway? Decent stats aside, he looked cooked this year. Some of that may be the knee, but I don't see surgery as the gateway to regaining his peak athletic form. What does this do to Houston? Do they still try and acquire Carter by using Artest and Battier or do they pack it up and call it a season?
