  1. If you want to work in the wrestling business it's stupid. She mouthed off to a superior and got fired for it. It has nothing to do with principles. If you want to work for WWE you have to adhere to their rules, and drawing the ire of a former world champion and top Smackdown star is not smart.
  2. And while you're at it, axe the wrestling folders too. It's time for the forums to go legitimate.
  3. It kind of warms my heart that Roger went to do his minor league thing and got totally blown out of the water by Clay Buchholz. On the other hand, I fear that he's going to go from nice little secret to getting the Phil Hughes treatment.
  4. I haven't been to the main page in years. I had no idea it even existed anymore.
  5. If so, Omar Minaya is much dumber than I thought.
  6. There is no real difference in Randolph and Amare at this point. Each has their strengths and weaknesses, but they are fairly comparable as players in terms of overall production. Randoph will probably cost a lot less in terms of talent given up, mostly because of his off-the-court issues. I think this is a moot point, however, as I still think the Suns will trade Marion before Amare.
  7. Randolph is 25 and Amare is 24.
  8. Zach Randolph is like a year older than Amare.
  9. Malcolm also wasn't the king of all blacks now was he?
  10. You think the morons that frequent the WWE folder can figure this out? It's why no quality posters come up here anymore.
  11. Well we can all hope that this one will stick.
  12. So streamlined that there are six pages of new comments every day, which I therefore skip and miss real news stories because they are totally buried amongst all the mundane crap. More threads are good. If you don't want read a thread, don't click on it. It's an easy system.
  13. Also, Randy Whittman got an extension with the Wolves.
  14. ESPN is only going to show the half innings that Clemens pitches tonight and will use the other half to dissect his performance, meaning I lose my opportunity to see Clay Buchholz pitch. Screw them.
  15. Jon Barry assured last night that he will never get a job in a front office anywhere ever.
  16. He could offer me Igoudala and all those picks and I'd still hang up before his sentence was over.
  17. It'd be silly to criticize Beane. Eleven players were taken in the supplemental first round in 2002. Three players (Dan Meyer, Mark Teahen, Jeremy Brown) have reached the majors. Greg Miller was ranked the 17th best prospect in the Dodgers' organization before the season, and he's walked 36 batters in 26.2 innings in AAA. The other seven are non-prospects. The second round produced some hits and some misses. Beane took a shot and missed. No different from what 29 other GMs do every year. It'd be silly, but Mike Celizic, Murray Chass and Bill Plaschke would love to have the honor.
  18. What a thrilling discussion we have going on here.
  19. Jeremy Brown, of Moneyball fame, was DFA'd by the Oakland Athletics to open a spot on the 40-man roster. I can't wait to hear the anit-sabermetric guys come out of the woodwork to slam Beane now. I think I heard that ESPNews is carrying the Clemens/Buchholz game tonight. To me that's far more interesting than anything the $28 million man will do the rest of the season.
  20. Former world champion Curt Hennig wasn't recognizable yet? I know he went on to bigger and better things but he was harldly a nobody at the time of this show.
  21. Today's Oregonian implies that Zach Randolph is as good as gone from Portland now. They mentioned the possibility of a three-way deal with Chicago and Seattle that would net them Rashard Lewis (in a sign and trade), or even a straight-up deal with New Jersey for Richard Jefferson. I'd be happy with both of those deals. I respect Randolph as a player, but I don't think that he fits into this team's long-term plan.
  22. Bitching about it? All I said was that the elbow last night wasn't as bad as the slap. Calm down.
  23. Nah, no need to give the slumping Yankees some sort of moment to rally around. Pitch him inside and have Tek make him think it's coming all night. Then wait a couple weeks and plunk him in Fenway.
  24. Hibbert is one of those players that becomes less special every time you see him because his flaws become more apparent. His stock is high right now and he should cash in on it, even if he ends up in the 10-15 range. I don't think he'll do himself any favors with another year of scrutiny.
  25. It won't matter if you die early... you're already missing out on all fun stuff.
