UFC 88: Breakthrough - Liddell vs. Evans
Lt. Al Giardello replied to jackmcmanus21's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
But the thing about Chuck going into the fight that is working against him is his age, and his hamstring... His knee looked nasty, and he is coming off surgey, so who knows how that will effect his takedown defense. People like to give Rashad shit about the Bisping fight, sure Rashad gassed but he still clearly won the fight 30-27 in my eyes, despite Joe Rogan blowing Bisping hard in that fight. Every fight is different, I don't think we'll see the same Rashad Evans of the Bisping fight in this fight, Rashad knows he can't put up a somewhat lackluster performance like he did in the Bisping fight to get past Chuck. Greg Jackson already had a great gameplan to beat Chuck when Jardine faced him, Rashad has the ability to do that same. Plus Rashad has proven he can take punishment and not give up. Of course Chuck is going to be the favorite going into the fact due to "Chuck Vs. Wrestler = KO win for Chuck", but I ain't counting Rashad out. Part of me wants Rashad to lose though as I would like to see him at 185, I think he would be a top contender there no question. -

Pete Sell will make his welterweight debut against Josh Burkman at UFC 90 via the junkie. -
UFC 94 - Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn II
Lt. Al Giardello replied to Mik's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
BJ even admit to holding on to the choke a little bit longer then he should have... Difference is Babalu acted like a disrespectful punk and yelled on the mic "HE DESERVED THAT SHIT!!!!!!!!", where as BJ shook Jens hand and gave him respect. -

Heat of the moment, shit like that happens when you actually get into a fight... I can't really hold that against BJ. -

If thats how you feel about GSP, then sure it would be better then refering to his ethnic background, where it makes you sound ignorant. -

Doesn't make you a racist, but it makes you come off like you are racist. Why refer to one's background when trying to make a point? And are you suggesting there are no rednecks or racists in New York? I've been in New York pently of times, I have family there and I've seen quite a bit of rednecks there. -

Every time you post about GSP you always have to refer to him as a "Canadian", which is wrong and makes you come off as a sterotypical racist American redneck... Like those disrespectful drunk fans who chant "U.S.A!" during fights. Lets say BJ was fighting Josh Koscheck, and you were to say "BJ is going to spell some African-American blood!", or BJ was fighting Diego Sanchez and you said "BJ is going to spill some Mexican blood", saying "BJ is going to spill some Canadian blood!" doesn't make much of a difference you know. -

The one thing I respect about BJ is he doesn't hide who he is for the camera's, he may not be the nicest guy and he will make that known. There are so many other fighters and athletes who try to make themselves look like role models when in reality they are worse then most of the athletes who don't hide who they are... For example Oscar De La Hoya, and Michael Jordan. That's why I always liked athletes like BJ Penn, Charles Barkley, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Deion Sanders, etc. -

Clay French got caught in one of my favorite submissions of all time, by Shinya Aoki! FLYING TRIANGLE CHOKE~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's a solid fighter though, he holds a victory over Mac Danzig. -
Yeah Foley/Angle was always a dream match of mine, too bad the WWE never pulled the trigger on it.

I want to see Zeke and Kendrick become tag champions... They have the potential to become a HBK/Diesel combo! Which means Paul London was the Marty Jannetty of their wannabe Rockers tag team.

After the bell he pointed and laughed at Herring... I don't think it's as big of a deal as some people are making it out to be. Herring and his camp were talking a lot of shit before the fight. If Lesnar wasn't a former pro wrestler, it wouldn't be made such a big deal.

It should be noted that he lost to Leben by controverisal desicion... Even though I don't think Cote will beat Silva, he is a more improved fighter then he was when he fought Lutter and Leben. -
Fuck you, I hope you get run over by a train... That is all.

UFC 90 poster, via from Patrick Cote's facebook... That staredown makes Cote looked scared shitless, and Anderson with that "I'm going to kill you" look and stance. -
BJ Penn should keep the fight standing... I think he has a clear advantage in the striking department against GSP. Fitch stuffed a few of GSP's takedowns in their fight which makes me think BJ can stuff some of GSP's takedowns, because Fitch has pretty shitty takedown defense, and BJ is known for his takedown defense. BJ needs to turn the fight into a brawl like he did in the 1st round of their 1st fight.
