i would've given myself a 7. i don't even post that often anymore, and when i do it's rarely anything of note, just coasting on my past successes (of which i don't really even have that many).

at least it's not an inability to get any woman you've ever loved to date you.

barry manilow - "even now"

i did some interesting stuff tonight, but it involved body shots and my film history professor, not a message board.

EDIT: 4300th post. I'm so glad I used it for that. -

And what's the point of asking about these movies in particular, together?

Toned, seductive men love The Smart Marks.

i originally wanted to do it the day after marney left the board (be Cancer Marney, that is, not Cancer Marney For a Day). not even to post in her style, just say really subdued and passive shit and make people wonder. but now the thrill is gone and the name is different anyway, so i wouldn't be capable of taking it anywhere beyond "really bad gimmick poster" territory. i changed my custom title, i think that's enough for now. like anyone on this board knows when my real birthday is.

I remember when I was really young a Saturday morning lineup that included a show called "Karate Cat" and one called "Tiger Sharks." Don't really remember anything about either of them. Can anyone confirm or amplify this?

hitchcock edition (maybe i did this before, but too lazy to check): 1. notorious 2. rear window 3. vertigo 4. strangers on a train 5. shadow of a doubt

fongus is a terrible gimmick. i'm way more scholarly and convoluted in my everyday conversations than he is when he tries to be funny. no grasp of language at all. i thought about creating a jacques derrida gimmick where i'd post all kinds of unprovoked, random "the signifier is meaningless, the slippage is endless" intellectual bullshit that would put fongus's inanities to shame.

cute, but it's not really my birthday. the date is left over from something i tried once, where every day i would change my birthday to whatever day it happened to be. nobody paid attention to it, so i abandoned it after 3 or 4 days. i later forgot about it completely, & only remembered when agent brought it up a little while ago in the name change thread. i didn't say anything about it, as i wasn't about to sabotage my chances of being cancer marney for a day. however, i must say this IS the best fake birthday present on an internet message board i've ever gotten. but agent will probably feel all deceived and shit now, and refuse to change it back. oh well. i'm gonna go post in the CE folder now.

this reminds me: amanda bynes has the worst show in the history of television. no hyperbole can do it justice. i may have to rethink my position then. come to think of it, there IS something not-quite-right about her, and she was making placenta jokes at the diner the other night. hmm.

i've met a couple funny girls in the 2 months i've spent here. but one of them is a mormon and the other one has a really fucked up sense of relationships, so i won't be going for either of them any time soon.

oh, how i long for the days when i had the free time in a day to watch 2 or 3 movies.

What actors will you almost always see a movie for

tony leung. between 'in the mood for love', 'chunking express', 'hard-boiled', 'flowers of shanghai' and 'hero', he's never let me down. i may go to the midnight show of 'infernal affairs' later tonight. maggie cheung has never let me down either, but i don't know if i'd go to a movie solely because i knew she was in it. EDIT: okay, scratch that. i just saw 'infernal affairs', and the fucker let me down. -
seems like a good idea for a short, but i don't know if he could make the concept stretch to 90+ minutes. it'll depend on his talent & his resourcefulness. okay, but what does that have to do with me wanting to see conservative documentaries that aren't just reactions to liberal documentaries?

I got some weird looks in Harlem.... i got off the subway at 125th street & couldn't find the bus stop, and a guy there was really nice & went out of his way to show me where it was. i got nothing but love for harlem.

eric clapton - 'me and mr. johnson' cream - 'disraeli gears' can't make a judgment on the latter yet, but the former feels like an enormous disappointment so far. "32-20 blues" is my favorite johnson song and clapton turned it into a total joke. at least i still have 'from the cradle'.

we have a winner. that shit is wild and absolutely seamless. except for "PSA", i thought most of the sampling on that one sounded pretty awkward and didn't really gel.

i still can't believe i never got to be Cancer Marney for a day.

the 70s movie didn't even have a 70s soundtrack, so i doubt it.

this idea is so fucking retarded. i eagerly await the arrival of some right-wing documentary that can actually STAND ON ITS OWN AS A DOCUMENTARY. hopefully moore has pissed off a whole generation of young right-leaning college students who will go to film school and make documentaries that will actually be taken seriously.
