This is why I don't like Religion

lol.. I was just saying a little bit about how I think. I know there's millions of arguments to be made against it and I know it isn't for everyone. As for religion, I believe in the universal spirit. We are all one, we are all god, we are all everything, we are all nothing. But, forget about me! Let's go back to bashing queers. Errr.. I mean Christians. -

All I'm saying is that if we weren't much smarter than apes, planet Earth would be much better off. Look at this place! Grids of buildings and streets. Everyone gets to live in their own little box! Society is fucked. But yes, all I'll say is that The planet would be better off if we weren't much smarter than apes. Partly because I'm too lazy to go off on anything else, and partly because nobody here seems like they'd agree with me. And I'm not out to convince anyone of anything. -

Okay, usually people don't take it so literal when someone says the end of the planet. Alright, a rock floating in space will still be here. There'll be no more living things, and it will probably become uninhabitable. Most of the millions not being here wouldn't be a bad thing either. -

It's also created disease, wiped out a few species, put a hole in the o-zone layer, killed millions, and will eventually bring an end to the planet. I wouldn't do anything to stop it. Much too late now. I will enjoy the popcorn while I can, but still feel none of this ever should have happened. -

Sure they could kill alot of people.. But they can't drop a nuke and wipe out half the world. And you're right, it is lol. But, thus is the world we live in. In an ideal world I think we shouldn't have ever evolved past apes. Edit: And they didn't have all the technology, but they did have civilization.. -

How, exactly, is cultural nationalism different, or moreover more acceptable, than religious pride? Both are dangerous, but the infinitely more wars caused by cultural nationalism seem to be mulled over for religious pride. You can't blame people for not venturing outside themselves. You just can't. It's not a religious thing, it's not a cultural thing; it's a human being thing. If you knew me, you'd know that I'm not a fan of nationalism either I think boarders are bullshit. Why should people be governed differently and some people be rich and some starving with AIDS because of where they were born on the globe? But then if I break it down it leads to no government, which is different than anarchy. People just living in their own little tribes, and helping out the other tribes they come in contact with if they can. Sure there'd be the greedy tribes who murder others to get their belongings, but at least that wouldn't be a wide scale genocide. Yeah, I'm also not a fan of technology. I figure we would be best if we were just cavemen. So would all the other species on this planet. Which is where the story of Adam and Eve rings true where they eat the fruit of knowledge and it brings curruption into the world. I believe our knowledge = ultimate curruption and destruction. That's what one of my tattoos represents (a dead tree with a single apple on it). -

Also, most people do view their religion as the best one. They believe that their religion is what will square them with god, and Christians in particular believe that if you aren't Christian you won't go to heaven. The "People were raised in the religion, so they just stick with it" is bullshit. Like I said, I was raised Christian for 16 years. I'm no longer Christian. Free thinking does exist! So, if the only reason you are a Christian is because you were raised it, and you don't think it's the best one, take my advice. Leave your religion right now. Research other religions and see whats best for you. Or maybe, just have personal beliefs, and don't bother with any dogma at all. Who said religion isn't a cult up there? Look, you have people following it just because it was all they were taught! Sounds pretty cult-like to me. -

Yeah, it should have read, "Especially at a time in my life when I was experimenting with homosexuality. And why did my step mother hate fags? Because it's against God.. Yeah, alright." -

Where do you get that I was experimenting to piss off God? I never said that. I swear people just read what they want to read. All I've really ever said so far is one thing, Religion sets up boundaries between people. That's pretty much the only point I've made this whole thread, but people keep on pulling other shit out of that. "A very few percent of the world view their religion as the best one." Are you kidding me? If they don't think their religion is the best one, why are they a part of it? "I personally believe that any religion that teaches you to love and respect everyone around you is a fine religion by me." As do I, unfortunately, outside of Buddhism and a few Native American religions, I haven't encountered a religion that teaches love and tolerance. Sure, Christianity teaches to "Turn the other cheek", but do they really? Now I'm not saying all Christians are ignorant pricks, I know there a tons of very loving, accepting, Christians out there. There are however, also tons of people who ARE ignorant pricks due to the religion. It all depends on the individual, what church they attend, and hwo they interpret god's message. Edit: Okay, I see how you read it as I was experimenting to piss off God. That's not what I meant, I meant that she HATES gay people because it's against God. Sure she'd say "I don't hate them, I pray for them and blah blah blah". Saying you don't hate someone and then getting all pissed off when they come on TV pretty much contradicts itself. -

...I didn't say it was tramatic. Hey guys, lets take everything twiztedmind says and turn it around to poke fun at him! It didn't cause me pain, it just made me angry and hate how ignorant she was. As many religious people are. I used that as an example, because it's sad that someone would get so upset over a sitcom, because of their religion. I'd hate to see people like that if they see two guys making out. Homophobia is no better than racism, or sexism. Any religion that says otherwise might as well be renamed the KKK. -
I know this is Ask Milky, but I disagree. I firmly believe in the "Finders keepers" rule, and don't think you should have gone through the trouble of returning it. If I ever lose anything, it's my fault, and I don't expect to ever see it again. That said, if someone did return something to me, I wouldn't give them a reward either. Sure, it's nice to give someone back their property if you find it, but it shouldn't be expected from you, and if you're nice enough to give it back you shouldn't be expecting a reward.

I want to take a full body picture of myself naked and tucked back, holding up a sign saying Milky still has a cunt, but it wouldn't be as good because I've shaved recently. I need to grow a bush, then we'll be talking.

Would you like to explain why it's bullshit? Bullshit in what way, that I'm making everything up, or that everything I said is wrong? Anyways, I'm not going to get into a big religious debate, as I don't really care if people think it's wrong or right. I just don't like it, and that's it. And I didn't say religion is what's wrong with the world. I said religion sets up boundaries between many people, which it does. Sorry for naming the thread what I did, I should have just named it "crazy lady", as I only posted this because I almost pissed myself laughing when I saw it. I didn't post it to degrade anyone or insult their beliefs. -

I didn't say I hate religious people. I said I hate religion. At the same time, I don't judge anyone for being religious, and I don't even think that their beliefs are wrong. I believe that one person's belief is just as right as the next persons. I know she's not the norm for religious people. I grew up in a christian family, and went to church, as well as catholic school, until I was 16. I hate religion because it turns alot of people into the woman in the video. Most religious folk also have the impression that anyone who isn't of their religion will go to hell. People like this are just taking it one step further. And hey, maybe their right. But personally, I don't like it. I've seen alot of prejudice come out of religion. You know what it feels like for your step mother to get pissed off and say "This shouldn't be on T.V! That's SICK!" Everytime Will and Grace comes on? Especially at a time in my life when I was experimenting with homosexuality. And why? Because it's against God.. Yeah, alright. People like that are why I, personally, dislike religion. I've seen it set up more boundries between people than do any good in my life. Though I do understand why some people are religious, and don't fault anyone for it. Unless they are the type like that, who I think are ignorant. So, because I dislike religion, People hate anti-religious people? Wow, I never knew my opinion was that powerful. -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCh2FXzD6R4 I know a few people like that. Maybe not to that extent, but pretty close. How can anyone acting like that actually believe that they are right? Like, fuck. Take a step back and look at yourself.
