In Ancient Egypt I used to promote matches that routinely lasted 3 days or more. In those days we didn't need fancy things like referees or rings, we relied on our wits, strength and a well fastened loincloth to entertain our fans. Longest match i ever heard about went a little better than 5 hours. Don't remember the names off hand.
