Smackdown's been the best wrestling show on TV for awhile now.

Bret Hart was never a mic master, but I loved his mic work in 97...man I'm such a mark for 1997 WWF it's pathetic...

the show went downhill once: the shooting episode occured, Sean left the show, the show focused too much on that stupid bitch Craig and all his lame problems...I've only seen maybe one or two episodes from this past "season".

seriously, people have yet to grow tired of Rey's "act", he's been the same guy for years, with a slight exception being the Filthy Animals days. I wouldn't compare his crowd reactions to Cena's...Cena's character was changed from what got him over to a guy fans got tired of, completely different deal...and no one has been talking a year long reign here, but he's certainly worthy of a WM to SSlam type of run if anything.

-he's been one of the main players in the short brand fued. -he's been fighting...AND BEATING...main event level guys for years. -he won the tag belts with the brand's world champion, I hardly call that dicking around in the tag division. -he's been ME or near ME level status on Smackdown for almost a year. -he's been over for eternity. what more does he have to do? take a step BACK into that sordid mess known as the US Title picture? Orlando Fucking Jordan is fighting for that title.

That hasn't happened yet. The show was using the year 2006 for months before the "Return of Optimus Prime" storyline. In a related note, we also lost Starscream last year. okay yeah, you're right! DUH, BL... can't forget Wheeljack, Windcharger, Ironhide, Prowl, Ratchet and Brawn!

I was referring to your assessment that someone who is over can't be pushed out of nowhere, unless I read that wrong. Neither Rey nor RVD is in title contention for different reasons, and as such putting the belt on them without some build would be senseless. welllll that's why they would have to build, for example: Rey wins the Rumble, gets punked out by Angle, dedicates it to the fans, Batista and Eddie, etc. etc. Maybe I'm not seeing where you're coming from here...do you mean like, just all of a sudden give them the world title, like Kevin Nash in 94? RVD has been out for over a year, he'd have to work his way back up...I doubt, however, that the fans would shit all over Rey being the champ if he all of a sudden won it next week on Smackdown.

Batista never got a secondary title (US/IC)...pushed outta nowhere...actually, can we even say Rey (or Batista for the matter) has been pushed outta nowhere? Rey's been hugely over forever, his overness has just gotten larger and larger and larger.

I disagree. You could moderate the discussion & keep it on subject without necessarily knowing the factual basis behind the argument. Keep people from flaming, trolling or bringing down the quality of the board is more crucial than being able to support why Benoit is better than Cena or something like that. eh, if you're specific to a certain folder and some clown is arguing a point that is clearly, factually wrong, you need to be able to accurately explain to him why it's wrong, THEN tell him to knock it off.

What Haha? I'm not the one that justn put him on the same line as Chris Benoit and better than Rey Mysterio. He's fun, he can be good. He's not great. the "Eddie" chant is inspiration for Rey to overcome the odds as Eddie, a guy who always had to overcome odds himself, was his best friend...now Chavo, yeah they chant it just because...it's different for Rey... or, as Curry's pinted out before, it could just be because the crowds suck and are doing it just to hear themselves.
