Are there any biographies about Andre the Giant? I really enjoyed reading what Bret had to say about him in his book, and I remember an article from a WWE Magazine in 97ish where Tim White and Arnie Skaaland reminisced about him. I imagine Heenan talks about him quite a bit in his autobiography as well.

Not quite. Puts 'em four points back with four games left.

It also takes considerable wind out of the sails of Washington and Buffalo, both of whom are losing in the third.

I would have called carrot cake my favourite a week ago, but I had some cherry bundt cake with Easter dinner with vanilla icing - it's the icing that's key in carrot cake, I think. To be fair, my memory could be jaded, it's probably been about a year since I had carrot cake.

I don't like a single treat in that sentence.

Who's the geekiest athlete in history? John Stockton? Rance Mulliniks? Davis Love III? -
TSN.ca has reported that Luongo has left the team to be with his wife. This on the heels of the news that Brendan Morrison is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.

The Best Sports Movie of All Time
CanadianGuitarist replied to foleyfanforever88's topic in Television & Film
Caddyshack gets an exemption because it's on another tier of movies for me. And I'd hardly call it 'the best', but Tin Cup might be my favourite sports movie. With those two out of the way, Field of Dreams. -
If the concept of all six Canadian teams getting into the playoffs wasn't dead (it was), it's certainly buried tonight. Minnesota gets a big win over Edmonton, knocking Calgary out of the division lead. Edmonton's not too drastically effected, though - Colorado's win over Vancouver means they switch spots to 7-8, but the Oil remain three back. What an entertaining division. It's moreso the case this year with so many great games being played and the Habs playing so well, but the NHL and NBA playoffs, baseball season starting, and the Masters - this is my favourite time of year for sports by far.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

Can't feed them, fine. Watch em? Fine....will they entertain us? Will one lucky volunteer from the audience be allowed to stick their head in their mouths? -
If this isn't EMHE - can you imagine someone that's more like him than he is?

I'm a big fan of Nskie, and looking forward to his return. Three gulag things: 1) What does Matt Young 3/26 mean? 1a) I don't get the hate for Matt. 2) Why is Czech's post count now 29? 3) Why couldn't I post these questions in the gulag? It said I was 'no longer' allowed. No longer? -
I don't have a problem with that. They did lose an awful lot over the summer, and still have been up in the top of the conference all season. I thought that initially too, but he must have done something right given the cold start by the Caps. I don't know if Mike Green would have 17 goals anywhere else. Edit: Dustin Byfuglien's 18 goals probably negates my Green argument.

Nominees: - Babcock - Carbonneau - Wilson Add MacT, Boudreau, and Julien to the mix depending on who gets in. All six of those are awfully legitimate contenders.

I would never spell favourite without the 'u'. Edit: I wonder if that's a pick-up line at Canadian chapters of Mensa.

Though I knew most of that (from research and here), it's still appreciated. From what I've seen, property tax would be about 80 a month, and I've got a separate budget for all my insurance - appliances/furniture I'm going to save up for instead of the cashback mortgage(the lowest rate I'd seen was 7.5%...too much). I've compared several mortgage rates from a variety of places and seen considerable savings here and there. Jist of it - I'm not starting a family, so a bungalow with basement or small two-storey is fine, but with one or two spare rooms just in case. I didn't see any cheaper interest rates when done bi-weekly, but it did open my eyes to having things paid off in 31 years instead of 40. The realtor advice and vinyl siding are things I wouldn't have thought of.

Pshaw. Consumers are still in the dark on which way to go between LCD and plasma. Add a third technology into the mix? Good luck. Introduction into the mainstream? Sure. Success competing with the other two formats? Maybe. "Days are numbered?" Yeah right.

It's this time of year that I really kick myself. I just haven't been able to make the jump from casual to hardcore fan the way I did I've done with golf and football.

Watch the third-period highlights of tonight's game at the HSBC. You'll warm up to it.

Equity, despite what I said five posts above, is a big deal to me if I can get a mortgage for around the same price as rent. I'm going to need a new car when I come back from out West, and having paid rent on a house (not an apartment) for the last 2.5 years, that's probably 5 grand in equity I could have saved up, let alone my last two tax returns.

Colorado and Edmonton are your winners in the two western games. Colorado moves into a tie for 7th with Calgary at 86 points, only three back of first-place Minnesota. The Oil are still three back, Nashville four, and even Chicago are only six behind. What a crazy two weeks this is going to be.
