  1. In C-Bacon's defence, he did try to steer things back towards the Castro discussion. At the risk of sounding awfully igorant, can anyone bring me up to speed on Castro's reign?Somehow Wikipedia doesn't seem like the greatest place to search...I know little more of the history of Cuba/Castro than: - Che Guevera helped him take over. - The States hate him. - There's lots of Cubans in Miami. - They're communist. - Almost war in 1962 with JFK.
  2. - The TSM YeahUh's
  3. The Survivor Series '98 thread got me thinking of this..... They just mentioned this on something during 24/7 this month, I wanna say Valentine's Day Massacre; Something about "Well, he's not wrestling with shadows, JR." Story? I can kind of piece it together, but was here any arm-twisting into saying it? By whom, in particular, was Bret's documentary not well-received?
  4. Oh? Was it actually asked already? If it's semantics, I don't consider Mike Weir's "This is my SportsCentre" to be in the same vein as Mike Weir's hawking of Dynamic Mutual Funds.
  5. MLB 2K8, GTA IV, and Rainbox Six Vegas. I don't have a Wii, but Mario Kart looks awesome, of course. I never liked the previous Smash Bros., but I'm intrigued by this one - it looks entertaining as fuck.
  6. All-time, what's your favourite a) Sports commercial, and/or b) Commercial with an athlete(s)
  7. Hoff! Since you spearheaded this, a Paint jersey for the winner?
  8. Has anyone ever figured out why sports teams have nicknames anyway?

    HDTV

I was wondering; an entire Jeopardy episode last month said HD in the bottom corner, was on an HD network, but not in HD.
  10. I'm leaning towards Malkin at this point; If Washington gets into the playoffs yet, but the Penguins are playing well without their best player....playing even better than with him. This won't be taken into consideration by the writers, but my Washington clause only counts if the Capitals actually earn more than 8th place team and not stumble in via the Division Leader rule. Oh yeah, Iginla > Malkin if that's what it comes to.
  11. If it's of comfort, PJ, the Habs had never erased a five-goal deficit in any game ever.
  12. Hank Snow.
  13. Clinging to seventh place and on a seven-game losing streak? Better go shopping! The Flyers picked up Jaroslav Modry from the Kings for a third-round pick.
  14. I'd say not. There's been some great threads in the history of TSM. Pics of Matt Young's legs? This ain't.

I've noticed something unusual about Jeopardy HD. Only the first two rounds are shot in HD. Final Jeopardy is not.
  16. Pierzynski two years ago is my knee-jerk reaction. Can I answer Ty Cobb altogether? Let it roll.
  17. No. He is not. Uh-uh. Negative. Nyet. Goalie in playoffs he not. God, we are so fucked. I could have phrased that better; My fear of the Sens Big Three is negated by the thought of Gerber in net; the only two playoff games we won in 2006 were against, well, you know, Gerber.
  18. The Tsm Hoffs! Can we assume TSM is our city, no matter what? TSM Posters has to be it.
  19. If its a serious injury, I'll write off Detroit to win the cup right now. Yes; If it's not, I'll still bet the farm on them.
  20. Even if Carlito sends, it's still gay sex. I still like Matt. But, this is a little too much.
  21. The Raptors winning the Atlantic Division was something I'd call a huge upset last season. No one saw it coming. Did anyone want to win that division? A stocked-up Nets only finished at .500. I'll also rain on the parade of: Yes in principle, but Faldo's 67 on Sunday at Augusta is criminally overlooked there. 67! On Sunday! Mike Weir shot a 70, bogey-free, in 2003, and Phil's 2004 69 was up-and-down. They're probably the best rounds played by a winner outside of Jack in 86, and I think Faldo's was second best, better than the two mentioned in this millenium. By the way, watching highlights on the Golf Channel of the 06 US Open prompted my question.
  22. I'm still horrified of the thought of playing the Sens in the playoffs given our regular season tilts the last two years, and I'm sure I'm preaching to the CChoir on this; Is Gerber a playoff goalie? Hey, 2006! Maybe I'm not as reserved about a Habs-Sens matchup after all.
  23. I don't remember Connors as being all that hostile; moreso, for his grunting. So, my answer's McEnroe. What's the biggest collapse in sports history? Steve Smith scoring on his own net in the 86 Stanley Cup Playoffs? Jean Van de Velde in the 99 British Open? Edit: Who called a time-out in the 87 Final Four without any timeouts? Was it Chris Webber?
  24. Yeah ya do! How was my answer not curling?
