  1. I see Rhino beating Sting to win the TNA title and Angle beating Jarrett so that Angle gets a shot at Rhino next month, wins the belt, and then we see the big angle where they kick Sting out of the MEM over his losing the TNA title to Rhino. This would at least give the TNA babyface team some in-ring star power and get Sting out of a heel role that he never wanted and never even attempted to get into. Of course, this is going by what makes sense, and while TNA usually do the exact opposite of that, this particular angle has been treated differently.
  2. PWI is reporting, so it must be news, that Vince's two limo drivers have been let go.
  3. TNA to release 4 disc DVD set on Jeff Jarrett
  4. Kevin Thorn and Tim White are gone.
  5. PWI has confirmed that Val Venis is gone.
  6. They knew for a couple of weeks ahead of the PPV that Austin wasn't going to wrestle, yes, but Test was never going to be in that spot. Chris Jericho pulled a ***+ match out of Big Vis on Heat in the summer of 2000.
  7. Dana says UFC 92's buyrate beat UFC 91's. I expected a strong buy rate for UFC 92 but for it to beat UFC 91 is a surprise. The show itself was good but I'm glad I didn't pay for it; Mir winning, especially in the manner he did, was a major downer for me. I hate Mir and while I look forward to him getting a beating from a much improved Lesnar, I was far more intrigued by Lesnar vs. Nogueira. Silva's knockout was a shock initially, but looking back on Silva in PRIDE shows how far he really has fallen physically. I expected Evans to beat Griffin but Evans took a while to kick things into gear as he seemed content to stretch the fight out.
  8. I almost admire bob for his continued effort to argue against Scroby's irrationality, but at the same time it's obvious that nothing is going to convince Scroby to let go of his hatred of Meltzer and others like him. Let's just leave Scroby to feel comforted by his hatred.
  9. via PWI's Elite section.
  10. I like how in response to HTQ finally answering why he gives credence to Meltzer's writing, you just continue to go: Wahhh sheep. Shut up. What makes this quote of his even more ridiculous is that there's nothing I said, even with the biggest of exaggerations, that would come anywhere close to making his quote even remotely accurate. Scroby seems hell bent on hating Meltzer and maintaining his vendetta against anyone who reports insider news. It really is pathetic and if we didn't know better, I'd swear Scroby was 13.
  11. Shouldn't you be checking PWI for useless news items to copy and paste?
  12. Next time you see Kennedy, ask for his signature.
  13. I could tolerate hanging around Venk or Mellow. Maybe throw in bob.
  14. Didn't Enigma used to be a good poster? Or was that a bad dream?
  15. I got caught up with responding to Scroty repeating the same point over and over. My bad.
  16. You sounding like your balls haven't dropped was awesomely predictable.
  17. Or you could tell them everything so they know where to lead the audience but when it comes to something you want to them to react 'naturally' still tell them everything but also tell them to react naturally as if they didn't know that particular thing was going to happen. Otherwise, you risk getting a reaction that is counterproductive to what it is you're trying to get across. There's no sense in leaving something out of your control when you don't have to and can still get the result you want.
  18. Silva in the first round by TKO Nog by submission in the second round Rashad by KO in the third.
  19. The show doesn't need to come across as real, just believable. And you stand a much better chance of that if the announcers know what is happening and why and can lead the audience the appropriate direction.
  20. Nobody believes everything Meltzer says. They just give it more credence than they would other places. If you didn't have such a knee-jerk reaction to what Meltzer says and what people say about it, you'd see that people don't always 'blindly' accept what he says. Unless Meltzer tells you who his sources are, you're just guessing and chances are pretty good you're wrong. For all the times Meltzer has been wrong or incorrect, he's been right on the money far more often and he wouldn't have that kind of accuracy if his sources were the kind you're assuming them to be. Nobody believes everything Meltzer says because, as you've said, he can be wrong. The problem seems to be that people are giving his news credence, which is fair to do considering he is right more often than he's wrong, and you're taking (far too much) offense to this. If people valued your opinion as much, they'd pay to hear it too. And the assumptions remark is funny, considering you made a boatload of them in regard to who Meltzer's sources are. Yes, Meltzer at al assume. But, for some, it's an educated assumption based on the credibility and reliability of their sources. And no, when Meltzer and company get something wrong, people aren't all '""Oh the WWE worked the internet!". Again, if you'd stop with the knee jerk reactions, you'd see what people would actually call Meltzer on when he's wrong. If you weren't so intent on getting worked up into a self-righteous apoplectic fit over something that doesn't affect you in any way, you'd see that people don't believe everything Meltzer et al says, and that they merely give it a level of credence based on that persons track record of being accurate.
  21. I'm not saying that they should be kept in the dark completely but some of the big moments can be withhold from them, thus producing a more genuine response. What point is there in eliciting a genuine reaction when it doesn't allow the announcers to get the points across that the bookers want in the way they want? Keeping the announcers in the dark, which was done heavily in WCW, never works, for the reason already stated.
  22. Tenay is a great color guy. The problem with Tenay, and West, is the direction they're getting with the non-stop talking and treating everything as something major. Ideally, they would move West backstage and him shill the merchandise, and put Tenay on color with someone else as the main announcer.
  23. The announcers have to know what is happening, and why, so they can guide the audience and take them in the direction the bookers want.
