  1. Immediately coming to mind are Dusty Rhodes and Eric Bischoff. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...that's a train wreck waiting to happen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Trainwrecks can be fun to watch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For five minutes, anyway.
  2. I think you're both right, to a point. To a certain level, some ROH fans do try and get themselves over at the expense of the matches or whatever else is going on. But at the top level, in the biggest and most important matches, the ROH fans do stop that nonsense and they make a concerted effort to get as into the match as they possibly can. If someone disputes that, go watch Aries beating Joe for the ROH title, as that whole building was going beyond insane crazy when they realised they were going to see history made, which is a testament to how over to the crowd the booking made Aries, Joe and the ROH Title. That kind of reaction is something you cannot get out of people who, as RRR seems to think, are solely concerned with getting themselves over. And I think picking holes in the live report of Kobashi vs. Joe is a little weak, because if you're talking about a show is like live, and the ME has the crowd going crazy, you are naturally going to bring that up and talk about it. If it was meant to be an unbiased and a more analytical report, it would be ok to pick it apart like that, but it isn't meant to be anything more than how one fan saw the show.
  3. I don't think RRR is going to change his mind, no matter how great the argument you make. For whatever reason, he's set his mind on what he thinks ROH is, and I don't see anything changing that mindset.
  4. If the fans were that flighty, they were going to tune out sooner or later, and it probably would have been sooner. The change was an excuse, but it wasn't a definitive cause of the drop, because any serious viewer would have taken the five seconds to find the show on a different network.
  5. Which would guarantee it would confuse more people than it intrigued enough to pay attention. I guess they could have Jericho file a lawsuit to get back on Raw, and play off of the Lesnar situation.
  6. He got fired from Raw, so they'd have to have Eric Bischoff explain why Jericho is now a commentator. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, they wouldn't. He'd just be on Raw one night. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If it was to mean anything he'd have to be there for more than just one night, and for that there would need to be a reason given.
  7. A ratings point worth of fans can't change the channel on their television?
  8. If the change from USA to TNN had any effect, it was minimal at best, and certainly didn't cause a whole ratings point drop-off.
  9. Coach shouldn't be on commentary at all. He's too busy either trying to get himself over or get out what Vince is telling him to say on the headset to get the product over. Coach adds nothing but an incentive to turn off.
  10. He got fired from Raw, so they'd have to have Eric Bischoff explain why Jericho is now a commentator.
  11. Big Show should never, ever be in any incarnation of the Four Horsemen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh please... Big Show is MUCH better than former Horseman Sid Viscious. If Sid can be a Horseman, why not Show? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because Sid had ten times the charisma of Show and looked like a killer. Show looks like he's about have a heart attack with every step.
  12. Foley shouldn't be on commentary except as short-term deal to lead to an angle for his next match.
  13. What about Austin or Hogan coming back? Hogan draws best in his comebacks when they are months apart, not weeks apart.
  14. That finish ruined the whole PPV for me. Unforgiven was doing ok in my book, but that finish was totally unacceptable, and killed the good vibe that PPV gave out.
  15. The change in networks had zero to do with ratings going down. WWE like to use that as an excuse, but it simply isn't true. And a 4.4 is at the lower end of acceptable, given the kind of push and 'effort' that went into Raw. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But how do you account for the ratings dropping an entire point (which, at that time would be about 20 percent of their audience) and never getting back to that USA rating again? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The product got worse, and never recovered. It still hasn't. Are you seriously telling me that a ratings point worth of fans couldn't find USA? If you think the network change had anything to do with their drop in ratings, you're an idiot.
  16. I think JR and Tazz would be a great combination, because without Jerry Lawler to drag him down. JR is noticably better.
  17. When the PPV is over, I have to feel like it was worth the time it took to watch. It doesn't have to have a slew of great matches or hot angles, but when the PPV ends, I have to walk away feeling like it was worth watching, for whatever reason.
  18. That would be a disaster of epic proportions. Coach is bad. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with JR being ousted as Raw announcer because Raw desperately needs any and all changes it can get. However, I envisioned the changes to be positive ones and Coach as play by play guy is not good. BTW, can JR take Lawler with him? I hate that son of a bitch more than Coach. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While JR probably needs to go so they can change things up, there is nobody else on the broadcast team that can match Ross when he is at his best and can really get across a major angle like he can. For the most part, Josh Matthews or Tazz are better than Ross, but for the big moments, JR smokes everyone else they have, which you can put down to Kevin Dunn wanting good looking guys who don't know anything over average looking guys who know what they are doing. And they have to get rid of Lawler. That borderline pedophile has never added anything to commentary in his life.
  19. How would I book Austin vs. Hogan? I wouldn't. I'd call in sick and let some other poor schmuck deal with it.
  20. The change in networks had zero to do with ratings going down. WWE like to use that as an excuse, but it simply isn't true. And a 4.4 is at the lower end of acceptable, given the kind of push and 'effort' that went into Raw.
  21. From this weeks Observer. If WWE feels Brock outsmarted them, you know they’ll embarrass him like crazy if he ever returns.
  22. Fuck this. You're going on ignore, you moron.
  23. His return will mean less if he just returned last week on free tv than if he's returning for the first time on a PPV.
  24. Raw got bigger ratings in 1999 than 2000-2001, but guess what period made the most money. I'll give you a hint: It wasn't 1999
