They're all whores. Just pay them their $20, less in some cases, and they'll be happy to bend over and take it for the chance of a pop.

Austin vs. Triple H, No Way Out 2001
Hunter's Torn Quad commented on a blog entry in World's Worst Blog
I didn’t think this match was close to ****3/4, even on the first viewing. The match was ok, but there were a lot of things in it that I didn’t like, such as the heel playing to the crowd and the babyface doing the crotch spot on the ropes when both were climbing the cage. It wasn’t bad, but nowhere close to MOTY-level, and I’d have to go with DA’s rating and put it in that ***1/4 range. -
Well that's the important thing then. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is one statement I'd like him to try and back up, if he can. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he means USA is not going to cancel RAW unless it dips into the 2.0 range. Which it never will. So the ratings talk is kinda useless since Vince and co. don't care and will make sure they always have an excuse. Like Ramadan or something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If they don't worry about the rating until it dips to near the 2.0 range, then it's going to be like trying to roll a snowball uphill. Much better, and easier in the long run, to start reversing the trend now while it's going to be easier to do. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you really THINK Vince will change anything when the drop in rating can clearly be tied to his stupid family? If anything, he'll blame John Cena not being a draw despite Cena getting like 5 minutes on RAW. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whatever happens, Vince will never lay the blame on his own shoulders, and will always blame it on everything else, from the weather to the alignment of the planets.

Spike giving TNA it's first Prime Time Special
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Dangerous A's topic in TNA Wrestling
If Jeff drops the belt on the special he'll get it back before the end of the year, which would be totally counterproductive. -

Spike giving TNA it's first Prime Time Special

What could be interesting is if TNA try to pull a hotshot angle or match of some kind to try and give the special a boost via word of mouth. Maybe a title change or debut of some kind. -

Whats the record for comeback after "retirement"
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in General Wrestling
He wrestled in an eight-man tag at Starrcade that year. I remember a picture of him looking like the worlds oldest jock. -
For the most part the emphasis is on the in-ring action with the non-wrestling nonsense typically reduced to the background. The action is usually more athletic, and the matches are on the whole a lot more physical than American wrestling. In the major groups the rookies are a lot more crisp and fluid than their American counterparts, and you usually won’t see a guy brought up to the main roster unless he has a firm grasp of the fundamentals, which makes for better workers in the long run.

Spike giving TNA it's first Prime Time Special

Vince would like to, but I don't see USA letting him try anything, and I for sure don't see UPN letting him try anything. This is great news for TNA, and is a real vote of confidence. -
Nothing changed. Which is exactly the problem.

I fully expect people to wheel this excuse out again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have a friend that sat in front of Spike TV for 20 minutes waiting for RAW to start, and forgot all about the movie to USA. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does your friend fall over a lot?

The time slot did work "in the long run" because it was trouncing WWE for quite some time (83 weeks) and it was still competitive against it. What didn't work was the shitty direction and quality of the show that killed the show and promotion Not the time slot. TNA doesn't have the fanbase to compete head to head anyways. Realistically, it needs another year at the least to develop a sizeable fanbase for that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Keep CSI as the 8pm lead-in, I guess. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Umm, people who watch CSI aren't the same crowd who watch wrestling. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, but it did give Raw a great lead-in and that certainly helped.

Anything that sets apart TNA from WWE is a good thing. The six-sided ring looks different for sure, but that isn't a bad thing when it's the sort of thing that can make people take notice of it. The question is if it gets used in a way that makes everyone look good, and it has done that so far.

It was a 2-year deal for, I think, a $350,000pa downside.

Goldberg's selling, and his ability overall, has always been overlooked by a lot of people. His problem appears to be the same one Shawn has; they have the ability in their hands but their ego and attitude won't let them use it to the fullest. That said, Goldberg really shouldn't be selling a whole lot or he isn't the Goldberg that gets over or that people want to see out of him.
-
If he came in cold, I think that might happen. If they tease and hint at it subtly enough that the crowd start to want it, he'ldget a huge reaction when he finally comes in.

He married Steph. That's worth something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A medal?

Is Rashad the one who Hughes took to task for showboating a few weeks ago?

Do you work at being an idiot because it's the one quality you have. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He doesn't have to work at it. It's a natural gift he has.

If he thought too hard his head would explode. Sting isn't in WWE because he doesn't want to wrestle. And even if he wanted to wrestle, I don't think he's keen on going to WWE unless it's for a one-time deal. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Precisely, If Sting really cared about it enough, He would have given into Vince already. Unlike most former workers, Sting doesn't concern himself with the "glory" of the pop. Unlike certain other "jesus boys" in Pro Wrestling, his beliefs seem more sincere. Sting will do a indy show here and there just to get the juices flowing but by no means does he care to insert himself into Vince McMahon's web of idiocy. Also Sting has a bit of honor and integrity about himself. He doesn't care to have his legacy spit on. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Sting is one of the few guys in wrestling to 'find' Jesus who actually means it.
