  1. According to the Torch, Stephanie won out, and they'll edit out any of the non-selling.
  2. --Vince and Stephanie McMahon were having a disagreement regarding the Tough Enough segment that was taped last night and how it will air tomorrow. Stephanie wants a lot of it edited, in particular the inexperienced guys who didn't sell Big Show's bodyslams, while Vince wants it to air as is. I would think most in wrestling would favor the Stephanie viewpoint on this one Credit - WO.com Who would have ever thought that Stephanie would ever be called the voice of reason ?
  3. Torn down by the master. I feel so loved.
  4. Define me, define me.
  5. If this incident did take place, and D-Von got out of his car, then the fan might have tried to block the car or somethng. For anyone to get out of a car at the lights and go after someone would require serious provocation.
  6. You obviously aren't black, cause that's FAR and AWAY the most offensive thing you can be called. And saying someone should not get upset over being called a "Nigger" is ignorant as hell. Saying he shouldn't literally put his hands on another person over a word, then you have a point. I'm wondering how are you supposed to control your emotions when someone goes that far? Now you should be able to contain yourself enough not to attack somebody, but not to care? WTF you think this is? I, personally, would spit in duke eye after the show. And you have just proven my point. If you're black and being called the 'N word' gets you so riled up, then don't become a wrestler. You'll get called that all the time if you're a heel.
  7. If a black men gets upset at being called nigger, then what's he doing becoming a wrestler, and a heel at that, when nigger is probably one of the least offensive things that he'll get called ?
  8. It's funny how people are saying not to jump to conclusions, but then go on to say, "Well, D-Von doesn't do this sort of thing, so there was probably racism involved".
  9. Aren't the Ding Dongs thes ones booking this thing ?
  10. WWE got some good news this week in the Raw rating, as it did a 3.7 cable rating, with a 5 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is a nice jump from last week's 3.0. The one negative thing about the number, however, is that it saw the second hour decrease from the first as the show did hours of 3.8 and 3.6. Credit - PWI Well, it pretty well had to rise from last week's number.
  11. Luger didn't appear on camera at the tapings, so it looks like he was just there to visit, or maybe they taped something for future use.
  12. I think they are still outstanding. I don't recall reading anything that said they were concluded.
  13. If video packages count, the History of the WWF. If not, then I'll go with ECW reforming.
  14. Maybe Jeff wants to hook him up with Dixie Carter.
  15. Hunter took a few bumps, which is great, but he didn't put anyone over. Putting someone over means making them look like a threat and making them seem more important. I fail to see how any babyface got put over, when it took about 15 of them to put Hunter down. If it was one babyface, then yes, someone would have been put over. But doing it for a big bunch of guys does nothing but get a pop that won't matter next week.
  16. Vince McMahon missed Raw due to having some surgery last week and he wasn't ready to travel yet. He is doing well, and he was in constant communication with Stephanie and others in the hours leading up to Raw. Credit - PWTorch.com Looks like Vince did have some hand in Raw, at least.
  17. I like how DS is boldened and in white.
  18. It was either Lagana or Madigan.
  19. What I'll always remember is that guy in the front row crying as Benoit and Eddie hug in the middle of the ring.
  20. It was intimated that it was The Big Bossman who raised the case, but it was very subtly done. Just before KOTR he was kicked out of The Corporation. On Raw the day after, he came to the ring with The Corporation, and was welcomed back, with no reason given. Whether it was indeed a very sublte way of acknowledging Bossman as the guy who raised the case or not, I don't know, but it does make a sense of sorts.
  21. I think A-Train's sole post-lottery appearance was a loss to Chris Jericho. I don't recall reading his name anywhere since, not even for house shows.
  22. Says the cockjockey who has to spam an internet message board to get his jollies.
  23. -2004 Royal Rumble A very good Rumble, and I'd put it at maybe a shade below the '92 one, which is the best of them all. I thought it was well done for the most part, and it had enough booking twists to keep things interesting. I'd go with *** 1/2 - ***3/4 -Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar (No Way Out) On first viewing, I saw this as a ****1/2 match, and loved it. Later viewings show it not to be quite at that level, but still pretty damn good. I'd go with **** -Jamie Noble vs Paul London (Velocity) Never seen it. -Kurt Angle vs Eddie Guerrero (WrestleMania) I liked this, but I didn't think it was great. Also, for a match that had was mean to be heated going in, it was wrestled a lot like any other match. ***1/2 -Triple H vs Chris Benoit vs Shawn Micheals (WrestleMania) I've only seen this match once, live. And live it was an easy ***** for me. I plan to rewatch again soon, so I'll probably add additional comments then. -Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Misterio (Smackdown gauntlet final) I didn't see all of this, but I felt it was around the *** mark from what I was able to see. -Triple H vs Shelton Benjamin (Raw - the first upset) This was a great storytelling match, with the upstart Benjamin letting the veteran know he wasn't going to back down. The match I'd give ***1/2, but the follow up gets a DUD. -Mick Foley vs Randy Orton (Backlash) A really good brawl, but I don't think it was as good as some think. The key spots were great, and they were great because they meant somehthing and built somewhere. However, I don't seem to think there was much in betweem those spots, beyond the old 'I will lead you by your head to another part of the arena' brawling schtick. ***1/2 -Triple H vs Chris Benoit vs Shawn Micheals (Backlash) Another good match, but a clear level below the WM affair, and with less emotional pull to it. ****1/4 -Chris Benoit vs Shawn Micheals (Raw: Showdown in the Desert) I loved this match. Until the finish. Then I wasn't so hot for it. *****1/2 until the finish. **** after the finish.
  24. I'd like to see SD get the WCW-style ramp to the ring. That way, it would give it a more cosmetically different look to Raw, which would help further differentiate between the two. Making the rings look different would be good; maybe they could change the turnbuckle pads to the long kind, like you see in Japan or RoH. How about putting the Smackdown logo in the middle of the ring mat as well ? Lots of cosmetic changes like these would really make the two brands look different, and would really freshen up SD.
