  1. True dat.

  4. Does France have a big illegal immigration problem? Let's keep in mind that France is ardently assimilationist and very much against multiculturalism. I don't think there's a huge threat in the US for massive Mexican-American riots because we generally require only acculturation, not complete assimilation here. America is, as a rule, more accepting of heterogeneity and less xenophopic than France. America has been referred to as a "melting pot," but I would argue that we are actually more of a salad bowl. France has more of a melting pot policy, in that they expect immigrants to completely assimilate. America tends to celebrate differences and diversity.

  6. President Pierce was notorious for borrowing his neighbors' lawnmowers and not returning them.
  7. This is actually in the works.

  9. I wasn't trying to argue with you. I was actually agreeing with you. A lot of guys who want big arms focus on their biceps when triceps are the key to big arms. We're in agreement here, I'm pretty sure.
  10. Triceps are where it's at if you wanna pack some real guns~!
  11. I agree with eiker. Body weight is not a great indicator of fitness, especially if you are doing heavy lifting. Go by how you look and feel.
  12. Hint: You don't have to read all the threads. I promise. I don't read 'em all and look at me, I'm fit as a fiddle! *does jig*
  13. I had an electronic body fat test at UK's fitness center last week. They told me it was 6.5%. Kenyan runners have about 3% body fat. Bodybuilders also often have percent body fat lower than 5%. This estimator gives me an estimate of 8 percent. Edit: I try to eat about 4,000 calories a day, too. http://www.stevenscreek.com/goodies/pi.shtml And I'm telling him that doing a buncha crunches isn't going to get rid of his belly as well as burning fat & amping up his metabolism. If what you're doing is working for you, then more power to you. I'm telling him what's worked for me.
  14. It really isn't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whatever. You can listen to some guy on the Atkins diet or someone who is actually in shape. I am a runner, but that works for me because of my lithe build. Like Brian and Sass said, though, a lower impact form of cardio is probably better for most. A combination of cardio & weights has worked very well for me for several years now. I can run competitively in local 5Ks, bench press considerably more than what I weigh, and my body fat is very low (6-7%). And fuck low carb dieting, you need carbs (clean carbs-->whole grains, veggies, fruits, etc.) if you intend to be athletic in the least. If you want 6-pack abs, don't do a trillion crunches like an ass. Burn off the fat with cardio, amp up your metabolism with weights, and lay off the cheesecake. You will lose that padding across your stomach. Then you can jack up your muscles with some simple weighted crunches or other weighted abdominal exercises.
  15. Don't listen to FFMS. Lifting is an excellent way to amp up your metabolism and decrease body fat. Keep up your cardio, though, that's #1. I think as long as you do 3 sets of 6-12 reps and try to stick to major lifts like bench presses, squats, dead lifts, military press, wide-grip pullups, etc. then you're good to go.
  16. Glad to see they took this hurricane stuff seriously. You think once you dodge the bullet (which they did, it could have struck dead on the money) that they would think "hmm maybe a strong levee would be smart" but instead some of the brain trust apparently slept through school. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess by "the brain trust" you mean the Bush Administration:
  17. Well, the Senate is going to finally undertake the second part of the intelligence investigation thanks to some dramatics from Sen. Reid today: http://nytimes.com/2005/11/01/politics/01c...artner=homepage
  18. Joey Joe Joe Junior Shabadoo Thanks!
  19. WTF is a lark?
  20. Okay, I know I'm in the minority here, but I think Takeover is better than Ether. Definitely more clever. Ether probably cuts more deeply on an ego/personal level, but Nas resorts to crap like "Cockafella" and "Gay-Z".
  21. What about this new guy Hush? Is he supposed to be any good? Edit: Here's a link to his video. http://www.mchush.com/videoLargewmv.php Nate Dogg=The Robert Horry of Rap
