A Joel Gertner promoted show in a Kngiht of Columbus Hall with a 10 foot high ceiling. The show started an hour late, and at like 11:45 the cops came by and said everyone had to be out by 12:00 because of the curfew, so they just had Jay Lethal and Christopher Daniels run in during the main event and turned the match into a gauntlet style match where the first person to score the pin won. I don't even remember who else was involved other then Lethal, Daniels, and Lo Ki, it was just such a schmoz. Gertner is such a basket case now, he was rooming, actually more like squatting in an apartment with a friend of a friend of mine for quite some time while he was running these indy shows, and now I think he's living in New York hiding from his creditors. Although he's probably better off now then Justin Credible who now main events in a store front with a ring in it every week in front of 35 people.

Here's the very rarely seen Macho Man vs Flair rematch where Flair wins the belt for the second time. This is the match that supposedly had to be completely redone since the first time around because the match was of really poor quality. I think both wrestlers went to the back in the middle of the match, and they just started over with the entrances. I assume this was probably very confusing for the people in attendance live. Even the final product isn't particularly good, it's just 15 minutes of Savage selling the leg. Wasn't the story something along the lines of Jim Cornette accusing Clarence Mason of trying to steal his talent behind his back during the Summer of 1996 when Cornette was busy with Vader, and then fired him as his lawyer or something along those lines, leading Cornette to return to managing Owen and the Bulldog?

Here's fan cam from a house show of the greatest match that never was, Nailz vs Undertaker Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i_GVFVFsww...ted&search= Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXUBYh-5gxk...ted&search= Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk2txKmoIY8...ted&search= Christ was that awful. We all need to thank the good lord that Nailz was dumb enough to get himself fired and spare us from having to witness the atrocity that would have been that Electric Chair Match at the Royal Rumble.

I love watching the original PPV airings of these shows to see all the stuff that was edited off the home video release. The opening part of Survivor Series 1993 with Luger and his Family and the Star Spangled Banner haven't been seen since 1993.

So Linda McMahon is going to be on O'Reilly tomorrow. She's gonna get eaten alive. So what do you think of the possibility of a congressional investigation? Does perjury include kayfabe? Would the wrestlers have to testify in character? Imagine Khali testifying in front of congress.

Ok, so I was having this argument with a friend at work the other day who was swearing up and down to me that Brock Lesnar was one of the worst workers he had ever seen, and I told him that not only was he nuts, but that I would make up a compilation to prove he's nuts. So what do you guys think about Lesnar? Undoubtedly he deserves all the flack in the world for bailing out on the fans and the WWE after all the time they spent building him up and what not, but beyond that, I always felt that for a guy his size, Brock Lesnar usually delivered in the ring. He had more then just a few really good matches with Angle, The Rock, and Eddie, and he even had some really good matches with guys that generally don't have good matches with anyone like Big Show and Undertaker. He was a good brawler and in general was able to move around the ring pretty well. Sure, he botched the big finish at Wrestlemania 19, which people will forever remember, but that wasn't the rule for Lesnar, it was just one exception. So what matches can you guys recommend to prove my point about Lesnar being a good worker?

What would it take to make you interested in the WWE again
spman replied to iggymcfly's topic in The WWE Folder
To be completely honest, and now I'm not saying I want it to happen or that it should happen, but the only chance WWE has of being interesting again is if Vince and Stephanie McMahon were to either die or both completely get out of the business. -
I would much rather see Summerslam 88 on the Pick Your Big One if for no other reason then because it's another 3 hour show that was edited down to 2 hours on Home Video, and I want a copy of the uncut original.

sounds good, get some Stampede footage on 24/7, my guess is one match will be the first ladder match vs Jake Roberts and a random thought, Tuesday Night Titans is ok, but i would rather see them rotate between Prime Time and Wrestling Challenge or Superstars whichever came first I would actually much rather they start airing Superstars or Wrestling Challange from some arbitrary point around 1990-1992, I've been keeping up with Prime Time every week so far, and although there is the occasional good match, the bulk of it is tremendously boring.

Just go to thinking again, when was the last time neither Jerry Lawler nor Jim Ross was commentator on an episode of RAW? Have either one or the other been at the announce table for every show since that one Monday in 1999 when both were filming the Andy Kaufman movie?

The commentary on UHF is fantastic

For those wondering, I just fast forwarded through Nitro on the MNW that was just uploaded today, and the McMichael / Benoit vs. Chavo / Jarrett match from this 2/10/97 was very much edited completely off. Oh well, there's one less show I will need to tape on here. I can deal with edited music, but entire segments missing makes it worthless to me. Maybe I should just track down one of those shifty eBay dealers who sells the entire set of shows.

Sorry, I hated this. I could really give a shit about the human actors, and this film focused way too much on them. I fucking hated that first fight with Bumblebee at the Junkyard where they show the beginning of the fight, cut to Shia LaBeouf doing his stupid shit, and then they don't show the robots again until the fight is over.

This is decent enough. The facial hair options suck though, you either have to have a handlebar mustache or a ZZ Top beard.

The best situation I could think of to cut back on the number of dates is to go back to the old model of taping a months worth of programming at a time. I'm sure numerous people in WWE would disagree with the idea, but the ratings have shown that despite the fact that there would be no way to prevent spoilers from leaking out, taped shows do not do significantly less ratings then live ones. They have aired Smackdown live a handful of times, and I actually think a few times it actually did lower ratings, so increasing your tapings wouldn't hurt.

Wrestlers don't have it rough today? When compared to the 'golden days' they might have it easier, though that is debatable, but to suggest that wrestlers don't have it rough today is complete nonsense. Ok, you're right, what I meant was comparatively things are much less difficult today then they were in the past. Matches are shorter, less physically demanding, and overall just not as rough as they were back in the olden days. Go watch the final scene of Wrestling with Shadows, where Stu Hart can barely walk up the hill, and then think about the fact that he didn't take a single bump off a ladder or go through any tables during his career. If Jeff Hardy makes it to 80, you think he'll be better off physically than Stu? True, but arguably guys like Jeff Hardy are far from the norm, and ladder matches occur infrequently at best. Will Jeff Hardy be better off physically then Stu Hart at 80? Probably not. Will Batista or John Cena? More then likely.

There will never be an off season because there's just too much money at stake. The wrestlers don't have a union either like most other professional sports, so it's just not ever going to happen. Back in Flair's day all the wrestlers worked schedules that were twice as grueling in matches that were 10x more intense. Guys would be on the road 300+ days a year sometimes wrestling 2 shows per day in some instances working 30+ minute matches each show, so the idea that wrestlers today have it rough is complete nonsense.

Im not sure if this has been brought up before, but was it ever revealed in WCW who DDP's mysterious benefactor was, or is that one of those eternal mysteries like who drove the Hummer, who moved the briefcase at KOTR 99 and who blew up McMahons limo?

Well if they really are trying to ditch anything Benoit related for the time being, I really hope it means different content rather than less content, although I fear it is more the likely going to be the latter. I sincerely doubt they're going to go through all the trouble of erasing anything with Benoit on it from their library, I think if anything they will likely just put Monday Night War on hiatus and take Benoit Related material off for the rest of the summer.

No, although that Uncensored '96 match is it's own very special kind of terrible as well. This one has 2 wrestlers starting at the very top of the triple cage. They fight for 2 minutes, then after 2 minutes a horn sounds and they have 30 seconds to exit out a trap door. At the same time, the other door opens allowing the next member from each team to enter the top cage. So if the first two guys aren't both able to make it out the trap door in time, it ends up being 2 one one and so on. Then after another 2 minutes, the doors open again, 2 more people enter, and there's another opportunity to use the trap door. Now at this point the trap door opens on the second tier, and if you can escape out the second cage into the ring, you can escape out the door in THAT cage and as well. The match ends when all five members of a team manage to escape. It was just a mess, the "action" was impossible to follow, and the rules made the match so anti-climactic, some guys like Ron Garvin literally just walk out of the cage unimpeded, it was ridiculous.
