I actually had a habit of taping just about everything, so I have a lot of stuff on tape that might be considered hard to find these days. Triple H vs TAKA, Triple H vs Jericho with the fake belt change, Triple H and AUstin vs Benoit and Jericho with the tag title change, Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar Iron Man Match on Smackdown, The Smackdown Royal Rumble amongst other things. I also have both WCW All Nighters on tape as well that I picked up from a dealer at an indy show last year. What I would love to have on tape is some old WWF Superstars / Prime Time / Wrestling Challange / RAW from 1992-1994ish when I first started watching wrestling as a kid.

I just got back from the show. My friends and I had great seats, and this was easily the most entertaining show I've ever been to. Just seeing a lot of these old guys comeback for one night was fantastic. The crowd was hot throughout the show, except during Kennedy vs Jannetty where eveyrone just died completely. The legends battle royal got over pretty big, except for guys who were relatively unknown to much of the crowd like The Goon and Bart Gunn. The dark match was DH Smith defeating Steve Corino After the show, the beer bash went on for about 10 more minutes. I caught most of it on film, so I'll upload some pics and videos tomorrow. I assume that The Godfathers women may may have legitimately been prostitutes and / or nude models as they started flashing their tits at the crowd for some reason during the beer bash. Overall though, just a fantastic show to be at live. Motherfucking Bastion Booger, The Repo Man, Skinner, and Gillberg, that's all I have to say. All the legends had intros live as well, not sure if they went to commercial on TV.

WWE General Discussion - December 2007
spman replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
--Several more people have been contacted by WWE to appear at Monday's Raw 15th anniversary show. Basically, every name not under contract to TNA and not named Bill Goldberg or Brock Lesnar has been called. Oh, and Ole Anderson, but he was never on Raw to begin with. As noted yesterday, Dwayne Johnson turned down the invite. Does mean RAW's #1 Superstar = The Repo Man? Either way, I can't wait, I have great seats for this show, and Hogan better fuckin appear live, I'll be pissed if it's some pre-taped bullshit. -
Didn't WCW do open tryouts at the Powerplant a couple of times a year where anyone regardless of experience could tryout and get trained to wrestle?
-
Oddly enough, the guys that come from OVW over the years have usually ended up being flash in the pan wrestlers that get released or turned into jobbers within a year of their TV debut. Quite a few of WWE's big name players have come from Rick Bassman's UPW.

I'm fairly certain that Scott Steiner and / or Goldberg were the last 2 contracts left that ran out in late 2002 / early 2003

So how does it work exactly, when you testify iun front of congress, is it a work, or a shoot? Do you have to stay in character? "If it pleases the Senate, I'd like to bring in our next witness to testify, The Great Khali".

I'm actually looking forward to Dave writing about her life in the WON. Most people, myself included, are only familliar with her modern run from 1984-87, when she was already way over the hill, I know little to nothing about her pre-WWF career, and it'll be an interesting story about not only Moolah, but Womens Wrestling in general.

didnt think this weeks was too funny. Too much time spent building to a lame punchline. Mad props for the King of Kong parody though, talk about obscure references

I watched the 1992 MSG show last night, I'm pretty sure most of the highlights already aired on a MSG Classics show earlier in the year however. The show itself was nothing spectacular at all, and actually featured only the worst of the roster at that point, leaving out Flair, Savage, Bret, Shawn, amongst others. Just a few things I noticed while watching the show however When did Hercules make a comeback as a face? As far as I could remember Power and Glory just kind of faded into the background after getting murdered in 10 seconds by LOD at Wrestlemania 7. Was this just an extremely short run, because I don't remember him being around at that point at all. Also, isn't it funny now in hindsight, in the era of only 4 PPV's a year, that they've already got the entire Wrestlemania card laid out, and they're doing the hard sell for the show in February, even though it's 2 full months away? I guess now in retrospect this model for Pay Per Views has both it's upsides and downsides. While having only 4 PPV's a year does make them seem more special, the television during the in between periods end up being dreadfully boring, since they have nothing at all to build up to, as can be seen in the Prime Time Wrestling repeats.

Has anyone brought up the fact that 24/7 has almost exhausted the entire run of Tuesday Night Titans? I'm not sure exactly how long it ran, but they're coming pretty close to the end probably by the end of this year. Hopefully they finally start airing 90's era Superstars or All American Wrestling in it's place.

Go figure. My trip to Vegas was pretty good, I think I might have enjoyed it more though without my old man, but there's always next time. The best advice I can give is don't stay for longer then 3 days, there simply isn't enough to see to make staying that long worth it, at least not for free. All the casino's are essentially the same, I actually thought New York New York and Luxor were the most interesting amongst them. If you're going to see a show, I definitely recommend Penn and Teller, they were outstanding. As far as gambling goes, I just stuck to the slots, as the table games all have their own set of rules and etiquette and although most Casino's do offer lessons as certain scheduled times, I just didn't bother. With the slots, if you're afraid of losing money then don't bother because that's inevitably what's going to happen. Always quit while you're ahead, even if it's just a little bit. I definitely want to go back, maybe next year, but I think I had my fill for the 5 days I was there in July.

I would say publicly, 2007 so far has probably been the worst year for the WWE, and it's really only looking to get worse. From a business standpoint however, I think the year and a half long period from about June 1995 with Mable winning the King of the Ring until Survivor Series 1996 when Austin finally started getting his push to the top, was the absolute lowest period for the product, and they have never even come close to getting that bad since. That period saw the most worthless lugs getting main event pushes, an undercard roster filled from top to bottom with comedy gimmicks and has-beens, and just some of the most god awful bad wrestling product your eyes will ever witness. So no, as bad as Hornswaggle McMahon and The Great Khali are, they aren't even in the same galaxy as Triple H fighting Henry Godwin in a farm match, or Jim Neidhart doing a Who's On First Gimmick.

Robocop 2 is one of the most boring action films of all time. It's like literally an hour and a half of dialog, and 10 minutes of action. Robocop 3 is just flat out terrible though.

Wasn't Flairs deal supposedly that he was completely broke between paying the IRS and his Ex-Wifes alimony, that he really had no choice but to work in some capacity for the rest of his life?
-
I always thought that the Eugene character had much longer legs and much more depth then WWE ever tried to go with it. They should have just had him go balls out Rain Man style where he acts goofy as hell outside the ring, but is a Kurt Angle / Chris Benoit type inside the ring who goes hold for hold and just tears his opponents apart. They could have even gotten him some huge heel heat for the "I wasn't really retarded it was just an act to get attention" heel turn that never happened. They just dropped the ball completely with the Character, and just turned him into another cartoon to sell merchandise. At least Nick will probably have some success doing Indy's and maybe TNA doing a straight man gimmick after years of acting retarded.

WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - September 2007
spman replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in WWE Multimedia
Supposedly the story is that Virgil got his job by unleashing his hose on Pat Pattersons desk, so you might be on to something there. I just like the veiled hint of racism with the Virgil character, "Yes Suh!" -
I don't have the slightest idea what they're doing with Umaga. What occurred tonight seems to imply that he is going heel again, but I have a feeling it's going to be more of a situation where he is neither heel nor face and just destroys everyone.
-
I like 1991! Seriously though, 1987 is a fantastic show, the first War Games match is one of my all time favorites, but 1989 is the overall better show.

The OAO Thread For The Twentieth Annual SummerSlam Games
spman replied to RonL21's topic in The WWE Folder
This show was just another throw away. Finlay vs Kane was great, as was Cena vs Orton, everything else was just kind of meh. I fell asleep on my buddies couch in the middle of Chavo vs Rey and didn't wake up until Austin came out, but from the looks of it, I didn't miss anything. -
One of my friends asked him if he was ever going to return to the ring, and Ron told him that he was considering it after Summerslam, so it's possible that a Santito vs Ron Simmons match will be the payoff.
-
Not really, his only appearence during the show was helping Jerry Lawler judge the Bikini Contest between Christy Hemme and Talia Madison, and he said Damn when he got on the mic.
-
Just a funny side note, Ron Simmons was signing autographs at this Indy show I was at tonight, and I asked him "What was going through your head when you first got to WWF and they told you you were going to dress like Spartacus?" His response to me was "Man, I was just waiting to hear the punch line, and it turned out that they weren't joking!"

The policy is always call the cops first, detain the person making the recording second. Don't blame the theaters, blame the film industry lobby.

Regal isn't going to prosecute, we had a guy steal copper pipes out of our bathroom, and when he got arrested after the fact, the company wouldn't even press charges for that, and that was an open and shut case. If NATO or the MPAA decides to press charges though she's fucked.
