I think I said this before in another thread, but I have no problem with a fourth film, because the story lends itself to one. Part 4 needs to be about the beginning of Judgment Day and the war that ensues. End Part 4 with them sending the T-800 back in time to lead to the beginning of part 1, and it would be great.

The cool bits in movies and tv shows in youtube
spman replied to Vanhalen's topic in Television & Film
Mmmmm Red Snapper, very tasty! -
Paramount just lucked out by having the Only PG-13 film marketed towards a mainstream teenage audience in a sea of R Rated films.

Now actually, the night vision stuff was the only part I didn't like. It all reminded me too much of the Blair Witch Project, which was a film I could never stand. I did like this movie overall though, just of great action and violence.

That all depends on what you want to define as a debut. Both Matt and Jeff were used as jobbers for a while, the first appearance of which was Monday Night Raw on 5/23/94 where Matt jobbed to Nikolai Volkoff and Superstars on 6/25/94 where Jeff jobbed to 123 Kid. Now as a part of the regular roster, I guess you could define their debut as Shotgun Saturday Night on 5/30/98 where Matt jobbed to Val Venis and Jeff jobbed to Mark Henry. Their first TV appearance as a team was the Sunday Night Heat on 9/27/98 prior to the Breakdown PPV where the Hardys defeated Kaientai.

ROH: Reborn Again (5/11-CT) and Respect is Earned (NYC-5/12-PPV)
spman replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
Apprently it's sore and he's being saved for a big match tomorrow night. Crowd attendence is said to be around 400. Not good but ROH has been jerked around from venue to venue in the CT area (in Hartford tonight). Honestly though, compared to other indy promotions in the area, ROH does a shit job promoting their shows here in CT. Other indy promoters blanket all the major metropolitan areas with their fliers, and buy ad space from the local cable companies during WWE and TNA. Northeast Wrestling regularly draws crowds of 1000+, even when they don't have big stars appearing. If you didn't actively seek out ROH and find out that they were running a show in Hartford, you'd never know. -
Even further complicating things is the fact that Steiners win the belts 3 days later on June 19th at another House Show in St. Louis. So why do all the back and fourth switches if the end result was going to be Steiners with the belts anyways?
-
Maybe Graham can help out on this one: Does anyone remember the circumstances behind the first Steiners / Money Inc. title switch? The title switches hands on June 14 during a Wrestling Challange in a match that I have no recollection of ever having been aired. Then apparently 2 days later on June 16, Money Inc. win the belts back at a House Show in Illinois, which Graham has no other info on besides that one match. Was this one of those phantom title switches that never got mentioned on television? WWE.com lists the June 14th tag title win, but since the match was taped on June 14th, there's no way it would have aired that same day, and Money Inc. won the title 2 days later, which really makes no sense at all. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Has anyone mentioned Donnie Darko? What the fuck is up with that piece of shit? I watched it once, was completely lost, then learned that there's all this extra exposition that was left out of the film that you need to find out about on your own for it to make any sense. Fuck that.

Actually, upon second viewing, Superman Returns really doesn't hold up. Luthor still rules although his plan in the film reaches a Dr. Evil level of stupidity and complexity. Brandon Routh was lame as Superman, and Kate Bosworth was just terrible all around. Nothing will ever top Superman 2. Personally to me, Batman Begins is the barometer for Comic Book Movies. Oh yeah, and I like Batman Forever as well. It's not as good as the Burton films, but it's a campy throwback to the 60's TV show, and in that it succedes.

I just got back from the film, and overall, no sir, I don't like it. The Bad: Paper thin characters More plot holes then you can keep track of Deviates from the source material almost to the point of irrecognition Overall lack of any kind of plot with any sort of substance Lame dialog Kirsten Dunst is still annoying as ever The Good: Probably the best fight sequences of the three films. The last 20 minutes almost make the film worth seeing. Thomas Hayden Church does a good job as Sandman, but doesn't serve much purpose Topher Grace does a great job as well Overall my biggest complaint is that considering the films length (2 hours 20 minutes), the pacing just isn't consistent. Some important plot points are only briefly glossed over, or not mentioned at all, while other scenes that really serve no real purpose in advancing the story seeming go on forever. This is one of those movies that is 100% critic proof, it's going to make 150 million it's first weekend whether people shit on it or not. Bad word of mouth though will make the film take a huge nose dive with Shrek and Pirates upcoming though. Final Word: Wait 3 weeks, buy a ticket for Pirates, and then try to sneak in and catch the last fight sequence, but skip the rest.

My 24/7 just updated. So far I only looked at "The Big Ones" and I see that When Worlds Collide, New Years Revolution, and a WWF Show from LA on 11/88 have been added. Just turned on the LA Show, and what a shock to see AWA announcer Ron Trongard calling a WWF show....

I've pretty much given up hope on the Pick Your Big One Poll ever working out in anyones favor. I swear it's rigged as there's no logical reason at all anyone would pick the same lame recent shows every month. I guarantee you next month will be One Night Stand 05.

I kind of dig the idea of an old-school style title tournament. We haven't really had one since what? Survivor Series 98?

Terminator 3- Sure, it pales in comparison to the second, but it's still a good film. It tells an interesting story, and has some great action sequences, plus it's really the only movie I can think of off the top of my head where I was truly surprised by the ending. I just hope they don't get too anxious and start work on part 4 before Arnold is available to do it, I know there were rumors a few years ago of Terminator 4 with Will Smith, that would be such bullshit. All they need to do is tie the story back around full circle, Judgment Day occurs, the war starts, and then the film ends with them sending The Terminator back in time.

Van Dam will likely go the route Jericho did and just take a break from wrestling, and just make appearances in the indy circuit to do autograph signings. I fully expect to see both Jericho and RVD back in WWE in the future though.

Smoking indoors is completely banned here in CT too. Some places bars still allow it, figuring that whatever fines they'd be hit with would still be less then the lost business. Casinos are exempt though since they're owned by the Indians and not governed by the state.

There's a new Prime Time Wrestling that has a decent Bulldogs / Harts match on it, but I think besides what you listed, that's it.

Getting my bottom Wisdom Teeth removed was one of the most painful experiences I can remember. They knocked me out for the procedure, but afterwards it bled and hurt for at least 2 days, and I couldn't eat anything but tomato soup. Definitely avoid doing that if it's not absolutely necessary. Otherwise I just get constant cavities due to the endless amounts of soda I drink. I refuse the Novocaine though, I had that fucking needle. Just drill the tooth and get it over with.

On a "Major Fall from Grace" note, I was at a Northeast Wrestling Indy Show tonight, and Joey Mercury finally made his return to the Indies, wrestling second match up in a High School Gym teaming with Romeo Roselli. That's gotta a pretty major hit to the Ego right there. Main event was Samoa Joe vs Christian which was fairly good, and Kurt ANgle was the big drawing card, although he only cut a promo and signed autographs.
-
Definitely Jericho and Benoit over Austin and Triple H on RAW. It's really too bad that Triple H got injured during the match, and Benoit shortly after, and just kind of killed the momentum of that feud.
-
Mike Knox, Ray Gordy, Derick Neikirk, The Miz, Vladmir Kozlov, MVP, Daniel Rodimer, Nick Mitchell, and Khali all came up from Deep South. Of those, only MVP is the only one to go on to become an event moderately competent wrestler, and I attribute that to osmosis from working with all the talent on Smackdown.
-
Probably a every wrestler that's ever come from there has sucked measure.

Does anyone happen to have Grab Them Cakes, JYD's song that he used as an entrance?

I watched some of the 11/20/84 MSG Show that just got put up today, and from what I saw, it was pretty lame, just the lowest of the low jobbers fighting even bigger jobbers, in 10 minute matches. It does feature Bobby Heenan in a totally striahgt match though, which is odd. No gimmick, no comedy, no storyline, just a normal match with Bobby Heenan wrestling a jobber.
