I just got the 2003 WON awards issue and will share the results with everyone here. You folks need to read between the lines. Meltzer isn't saying the man's acting career is over. What he's saying is his chances of being the guy who can carry a movie as the lead role are starting to come into question. He can and probrably will get movie roles for a long time to come, but his drawing power in the box office has come into question. Remember, in Hollywood, it's how hot are you right now. Right now, Rock's box office record as THE LEAD MAN is what's in question. And on a personal note, Scorpion King and Rundown sucked 7 different types of ass. While I did see Rock's potential better in Rundown, that didn't stop the movie as a whole from blowing goats.

Um...because its mandatory to interview minority coaches now Got that part. What I'm getting at is there are several coaching positions that are open right now, yet I haven't seen post one about whether or not those other teams are interviewing black coaches or not. I'm not saying I didn't want Washington to interview a black coach or that I didn't know that that it was mandatory because I know that. I was getting at why the TSM haters go and only question the Skins moves and no one else.
-
Yes, Dennis Green and Ray Rhodes. This was brought up in the other Joe Gibbs thread. What does interviewing a black candidate matter in regards to the Redskins? I don't see everyone asking if Buffalo, Atlanta, and the NY Giants organizations are interviewing black candidates. Geez, a bunch of haters around here.

Best Match Ever Involving a Cage?
Dangerous A replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in General Wrestling
WarGames 1992 Next up to me is Magnum/Tully. Bret/Owen is a very good match, but I didn't feel the hatred that a cage match warrants like I did with the Wargames 92 or Mag/Tully matches. Those cage matches were textbook in how to convey pure hatred for your opponent AND blow off a heated feud. -
Compared to the shit that Spurrier was throwing out there, Gibbs can't get worse than that. I guess we won't know until he gets out there. We also won't know if Snyder will loosen the leash up a little or not. Jerry Jones, a notorious control freak, loosened the leash a little and let Parcells take over and the Cowboys made the playoffs. Perhaps Snyder will take a cue from that.

Nakamura's injuries force resignation of title...
Dangerous A replied to EL DANDY~!'s topic in General Wrestling
You gotta love when Inoki-ism runs wild on you. I'm not a Nakamura fan yet. I haven't watched enough of his work to really determine whether I like him or hate him, but at least it looked like NJ was gonna give the kid the ball and let him run with it. Thanks to the power of Inoki-ism shoving wrestlers into shoots, this run has been stopped dead in it's tracks. Again, I'm not saying Nakamura was the answer, but at least they looked like they were gonna give him more of a chance than Tenzan. -
Do you think Teddy Long would make a good GM?
Dangerous A replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
"Do you think Teddy Long would make a good GM?" No. As has been mentioned here several times, the role of authority figure is played out tenfold. It's the writers lazy ass way to get storylines across because "creative" isn't creative enough to figure out how to get angles and wrestlers from point A to point B without some stupid ass authority figure to bridge the gap and hold our hands while we cross the way. Fuck Teddy Long. Fuck "Sheriff" Steve Austin and fuck Eric Bischoff too. Their roles suck and don't draw. Period. -
Shaq is out for the Lakers for at least the rest of the week.
-
Also skip past any Naoya Ogawa Pride fights as they were all worked.

WWE Films Considering Movie For Austin
Dangerous A replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
This is all just absolutely horrible. WWE Films won't get a dime out of me. If Scorpion King is an indication of what WWE Films are gonna look like, I'll go ahead and keep my money for better things like unecessary gall bladder surgery or something. Rock's movies are terribly overrated and the other guys mentioned here (Austin, HHH, Kane) aren't near Rock's acting ability and Foley can't carry a movie by himself. Sure net freaks will go see Foley, Rock, and Austin because they're all just a bunch of fanboys and they'd pay to watch those men take a shit, but in no way are any of these guys movies gonna be worth a damn. Trust me on this one folks. Anytime Vince does ANYTHING non wrestling related, it tanks. WWE Films will tank. I predict if they go full throttle with WWE Films, it'll be the real beginning of the end for the company. They will lose so much money making films that suck that their surplus of money that keeps them alive today will be gone. You heard it here first. -
Bad Santa ruled the winter season, IMO. And none of you have seen the best movie of 2003, (although technically it was released late 2002) City of God. Best foreign film I've ever seen. City of God is the film Gangs of New York wishes it could be. See it if you get the chance. It will 0wn your fucking faces!

BT is all over it. The show is pretty bad. Don't get it unless you are getting it for free. Then you can watch it to see the really bad side of NJPW.

Thank you SJ and all OAOAST'ers. My dad is doing better. He is still not out of the woods by any stretch. The bleed on his brain has caused some memory loss and such. It occurred on Halloween Friday, but I was not notified until sunday evening. He has a tube inserted inside his head draining fluid in his brain. We (nurses and family) monitor his ICP (Inter Cranial Pressure) constantly. That is the most important part of the injury right now. It is not diagnosed as an aneurysm yet. His father (my grandfather) died of an aneurysm, so this is scary to me as well since those are hereditary. He also suffered a mild heart attack and had pneumonia because of vomit getting inside his lungs. The pneumonia has subsided and he can breathe without a breathing machine now. He can actually talk and move all his limbs, but is in denial of what has happened. This is the hardest part. My sister just flew in from Atlanta to visit him and he is starting to believe that what occurred to him is pretty serious. For the last 2 days, he has been agitated with me and the nurses because we won't let him out of the bed. I still have to get his affairs in order, so my ETA for coming back to OAOAST is not known yet. I do want to come back asap though. This is the first time I've had to sit in front of a PC and let someone other than family and friends know what is going on. It's kind of theraputic. Again, thanks for caring and hope to read some of you guys writing in the near future. Thanks, Tom Amey Jr aka Dangerous A

I hate Jimmy Fallon. Horatio Sanz too. Jimmy Fallon just pisses me off more because I get the feeling he thinks he's funny when he's not while I think Sanz knows he's a no talent hack. Again, Jimmy Fallon has never been funny. Ever. Not at the MTV music awards. Not ever. Fuck him.
-
I agree. Jimmy Fallon is fucking horrible. Sanz is pure rat shit as well, but Jimmy Fallon makes me homicidal. He's human excrement in regards to his acting skills (or lack thereof) and his awful handling of the News Update. I'd mark out if Tina Fey would just clock Fallon right in the fucking teeth with a right hook. That'd make my fuckin day.

I'm up 7-1 now on the crippled Alleged Rapists with Gary Payton left to play tommorrow.
-
My VGM team fell off the planet as well today. Shaq was the only guy to really give me anything. Peja and Rip shot like shit, Duncan didn't shoot enough, and Arroyo didn't play like a fucker. I was fifth today in the group and can easily see myself around 7-10 place after tonight's stinker. Here is my obvious lineup for tommorrow... PG Gary Payton SG Kobe Bryant SF Calbert Cheaney PF Karl Malone C Shaquille O' Neal Cch Phil Jackson Just about everyone is going to have this lineup or better, so I'm not tripping about tommorrow. It's the rest of the week I'm looking forward to.
-
Who are the alleged rapists? I have a decent lead, but with every team playing tonight, things could drastically change.
-
I changed up again. PG Carlos Arroyo, UTA SG Richard Hamilton, DET SF Predrag Stojakovic, SAC PF Tim Duncan, SA NY C Shaquille O'Neal, LAL Cch Gregg Popovich, SA It's a long season Harley. Wait until I put together several sick VGM days in a row.
-
While Eliza 0wns my face when she's on, the concept of this show sounded dumb from the get go. She would still get my attention over the lame ass SD that was on this week, but both were trumped by LeBron taking on the suns. Eliza > LeBron but.. LeBron > Tru Calling
-
Well, I'm in second in our group, but need some big nights to stay near the top. I dropped to 96.4% in the world. Amazing how one night will effect that. Here is my lineup for 11/1... PG Gary Payton, LAL SG Richard Hamilton, DET SF Jalen Rose, CHI PF Tim Duncan, SA C Ben Wallace, DET Cch Jeff VanGundy, HOU I have Chris Bosh in the rookies game tonight and LeBron tommorrow.

Why not have the DA vs Mad Cappa European Catch style rules match be for the I5 spot?
