PRIDE had a great 2005. Bushido 7, 8, and 9 were awesome. Final Conflict was great. Critical Countdown was really good too.

I would list HHH as one of the non-McMahonian causes for the WWEs decline. His monopoly over the top spot and the glass ceiling imposed has hurt the development of new stars. Just recently with Edge is a perfect example of that. Edge as the top heel with the belt? No way, that's HHHes job. So Edge lost the title to Cena just so Cena could lose it to HHH. Then look at how HHH obliterated everyone in that SNME match. That helps nobody but him.

Steph. Vince at least has a history of success where you can give him the benefit of the doubt and the WWE is still profitable based on his business model. Steph has been nothing but a failure and the company has remained successful inspite of her and her writing teams performance. Yes, one could say that "It's Vinces fault for keeping her on the staff" but then any problem with any company would get blamed on those in charge, and that's not really fair. Likewise, all success for the company shouldn't go to Vince either. Yes, Vince should fire her based on her absolutely horrible performance in her role as director of creative, but it is her fault for the actual horrible performance and that's where the accountability and blame should go

That's one of the hot topics goin around the net. Chuck wants it. Dana wants it. Rampage is the issue, and money is his main concern. For one, Rampage makes more in Japan on his contract, however word is he thinks he can make more in the UFC with the contract + sponsorship. If the UFC were willing to match his PRIDE pay, I think he'd do it in an instant, but Dana won't. Dana likes to pay guys what he thinks they are worth - and he doesn't think Rampage is worth as much in the UFC as he is in PRIDE. PRIDE isn't nearly as well known in the states, so it's not like Jackson vs. Chuck is this huge money match like Couture vs. Chuck where both guys are making $250,000. Besides, Rampage doesn't want to come in right away and fight Chuck. He wants to have some fights under his belt and not just be fed to the champ. Thing is, Rampage vs. Joe Bumfuck isn't going to bring in big money, but Rampage will still be making big money on his contract (because it's not like Quinton is going to sign a contract that gives him Rich Franklin pay, he will -at the very least- want something around $50-70,000 in my view to show, per fight, or else he'll make more fighting in PRIDE - and don't ask what guys in PRIDE make, because they haven't released any figures). However, this all said, the UFC can certainly afford Rampage. They can afford anyone right now with the money they are pulling in. They just don't want to be competitive and start bidding wars.

I have to say, I am really enjoying SPIKES website in regards to the UFC stuff. They have a Forrest Video Documentary which is lots of fun, there's a hilarious feature on Bonnar cutting weight for his fight against Irvin, and the section where they go over different MMA moves and styles is tremendous (Bonnar loves him some Van Damme!)

Well that's because JR hasn't been announcing week after week The HOF at least has a sense of unpredictability. I won't believe that Bret Hart is there until he shows up on stage, and I won't believe that Shawn and Vince won't fuck him over until it's over. They were trying to build that unpredictability with Vince/Shawns match, but they've done so many cliched shit with it that that it doesn't have that freshness and excitement to it. The most unpredictable match is the Smackdown 3 way and even then it is like, "so what?", they've buried those 3 and Smackdown so much that it's not important.

I think Vince will and is trying to make everything lead up to the WWE. That the WWE was the ultimate end, the highest plane, the top of the ladder. The stuff that other wrestlers did in other promotions was just to lead to them getting to the WWE. That the other promotions were stepping stones. Because those other promotions were wrestling, but the WWE is more than that and Vince McMahon made it more than that. The WWE was and is entertainment, the big show, the bright lights, the rock and roll and attitude and the stars and celebs and would never lower itself to be wrestling. Because at the end of the day, Vince McMahon does not want to be a wrestling promoter, he wants to be a multi-media mogul who took this small lil promotion from his father and blew it up into a world wide spectacle.

Hmm, pay $50 to see maybe 1 or 2 good matches, or watch the TUF 2 Finals on SPIKE for free and see 3 awesome fights, any one being guaranteed to be better than the best match on the WM card. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.

If you search on YouTube you can find the Rich Franklin All Access that was done one SPIKE a few weeks ago. Search "Rich Franklin" and I'm sure you will find it. There are usually fighter diaries posted when there's an up coming event, I know Insidefighting.com has done them before, and I know Mike Swick did one for his last fight which you can find on his blog and website.
