But see, some people don't know what's good for them, so they need other people to help them out.

Plus, Christian is a cool character. A lot of wrestling dorks emulate him. TNA, as exciting as a lot think it is, isn't necessarily a cool place to be. There is a lot of southern twang on the show. Christian brings a New York City/Hollywood/Blue State sensibility to it. The guy could be a superstar, and TNA really needs one of those.
-
It all depends on how they introduce him. Do we get a big introduction via Mike Tenay in the middle of the ring with Christian coming out, taking the mic, and going on from there? Or do we get a run-in and more direct action? Or both. I think an initial promo stating why he's in TNA, aka The Superstar Steve Austin promo, and then the follow up action against a TNA wrestler, during the PPV is pretty likely. Then you have a promo on IMPACT explaining why he attacked that wrestler.

What fighters are you digging right now?

That picture of the pitbull is priceless. -
I don't think its so much lowered expectations as much as there is no hype. Christian brings that hype. Here's a guy who wasn't fired from the WWE. Here's a guy that everyone and their mother knew was better than the WWE was letting him be. A guy who was clearly being held back. And he *chose* to come to TNA. Not because of the money, cause lord knows there was more of it in the WWE. But for the chance to be who everyone thinks he can be, and maybe more. What Christian has to say about the WWE, about TNA, and about himself... it's something that a lot of people want to hear.

Seriously, I didn't really want to see the show before, but now I might have to get it.

From UFC.tv TUF2 Finale Does Strong Numbers on Spike TV The November 5th finale of The Ultimate Fighter Season Two, which was televised live on Spike TV, was a big hit with viewers around the country, earning a 1.99 household rating. The show, which featured the crowning of Season Two's Ultimate Fighters - Rashad Evans and Joe Stevenson - also performed extremely well in the Male 18 to 34-year-old demographic, garnering a 3.7 rating, while being seen by over 2.6 million people. -

I kinda like the intimate atmosphere of the Hard Rock Cafe, I liked the visual of a standing room only crowd, where you saw people on their feet with a drink in their hand cheering on. I don't like the back wall with the guitars on it, though. -

Watch the post fight interview with Reshad. The interview itself isn't out of this world, but I liked what happened after it.

Biggest crowd reactions

Hug/Greco would be nice The reaction to Fujita knocking Fedor loopy was pretty strong. People jumping up and down and whatnot. -
I was thinkin about the whole contract thing and why they wouldn't give either Luke or Imes another 6 figure contract. Then it occured to be that if they did, they would have to be paying Forrest, Stephan, Brad, Luke, Joe, Diego, and Reshad, let's say, 40,000 per fight. UFC is pretty frugal when it comes to paying fighters nowadays, so I can see why they wouldn't.

For real. Lee Murray vs. David Loiseau? FOGETTABOWDIT!
-
It's like a regular guard, but rather than having your legs wrapped around your opponent, you have your feet tucked in underhim, so your legs make the impression of a butterfly.

They need to get into the psychological reasons. Why does Strong do the backbreaker? As a young lad, did he watch Bruno Sammartino break his opponents with the very move? Growing up, did he fall out of a window and break his back, paralyzing him from the waist down? Did the other children make fun of him for having to move around in a wheelchair, did society shun him for being a crippple? So now -after the miracle of modern science- he looks to cripple society, one back at a time? Or is he secretly homosexual and gets off on the pelvic thrust other men do when they make the "OW MY BACK!" sell after a backbreaker?

UFC usually "cycles" their fighters/champions, but there isn't a consistent pattern. They usually have 2 belts defended on one show, and the other 2 belts defended on the next show. So yeah, exactly, they spread it out. 2 big matches, and the undercard is used to build up challengers. For introductory shows, these 4 are top-to-bottom very good shows, centred around the lightheavyweight title. UFC 43 - Chuck vs. Randy I, Edwards vs. Ruiz, White vs. Freeman, are three very good matches. Tra vs. Rizzo, Sims vs. Mir are solid. Builds nicely towards the next show: UFC 44 - Randy vs. Tito as the big fight. Uno/Franca is a good bout under it. Thompson/Strebendt, Arlovski/Maty, Sylvia/McGee are all explosive. I haven't watched Rivera/Loiseau in a while, but it has its moments. UFC 49 - Randy vs. Belfort III, Chuck vs. White, Parisyan vs. Diaz - two of these fights were MOTYC in my opinion. Plus you get Edwards/Thompson. UFC 52 - Randy/Chuck III, Trigg/Hughes II (tremendous), St. Pierre/Miller. Great show. Actually, I think UFC 43 to 53 tells a pretty compelling story. You get Randy Couture's Lightheavyweight Title Story. You get Chuck Liddell's story. Yves Edwards figures prominently. The Heavyweight division is kinda like Star Wars, in that it starts off looking very bad for the jedi, and a new hope comes in the form of Andrei Arlovskiwalker to bring balance to the division. Rich Franklin: Destined to be champion. Evan Tanner: Fighting against all odds. Matt Hughes and his reign as champion, and Georges St. Pierres rise. It's very fascinating stuff.
