  1. Well, FOX probably offered him a good deal of money - he went to help out Tim Minear's The Inside and now I believe is working on 24, which are both on FOX. I also kinda get the feeling that Fury didn't like working there, as he seemed frustrated by the other writers on the show.
  2. Yeah, even though they made her less-hatable, I still want to see Sayid put a bullet in her. Freakin Awesome episode.
  3. Nathan from Canada Ethan from Ontario
  4. So far this episode is AWESOME.
  5. Brets a lil slower now because of the stroke, which is understandable. But as a 48 year old wrestler, Bret looked _fantastic_.
  6. The first time I noticed the correlation between roids and push was Hunter back in 1999. I wasn't even on the internet back then, but I still noticed that Hunter was getting bigger and then got a push.
  7. MMA and Pro Wrestling, in this case, are way different. PRIDE is criticized for putting Sakuraba in so many matches when it's clear the guy shouldn't be fighting anymore. I agree with that. To say that PRIDE encourages the use of steroids by who they push and promotes drug use through a harsh schedule like the WWE shows a clear lack of understanding of the issue at hand. An MMA fighter doesn't do steroids because he feels the only way he can get a "push" is to look big and muscular. An MMA fighter doesn't do drugs to get through the next fight. There are cases -Mark Kerr for example- of this happening, but (a)They are much much much much fewer than in professional wrestling and (b) I wouldn't put the blame on Dana White or Sakikabara, because if you look at who their top stars are, nothing suggests that they favour big roided up guys. Pushes in both UFC and PRIDE are dependant mainly on performances, whereas in the WWE its more on look. I don't blame Vince for everything. My feelings on Vince in regards to this issue can be best explained by what I wrote in HTQs blog the other day... My little promo was an example of how the WWE operates. It's no coincidence that guys bulk up while getting a big push. Vince doesn't outright say "Take steroids", but he does push big guys who do take steroids over the lil guys who don't, so guess what? That's what he's essentially saying.
  8. Not as much as I love sweaty russian men in a sauna.
  9. WWE was cashing in on Eddie Guerrero from moment one. How many hits do you think their website has gotten in the last few days? But what they're doing with the Tshirts is a good thing if all the money is going towards Eddies family.
  10. HHH is family, so he isn't seen as a regular wrestler by the McMahons. If he had health conditions, they'd care and get involved. As is, aside from the steroids, there really isn't anything to worry about with HHH. If Kurt Angle died, and the reasons why he died got out to the national press, there could be a potential firestorm. Angle was a legit athlete, not a sideshow freak. He was a top athlete, and if pro wrestling drove him to use drugs and put him in such bad physical condition, then maybe the underbelly of professional wrestling will get explored. What turned this top athlete into a mess of a human being? With Eddie Guerrero it was "his past coming up to haunt him", with Angle, this is very much the way he is today.
  11. Angle is an olympic gold medalist - so that puts him above Eddie and 99.9% of wrestling stars when it comes to national media. Angle is a big star. And Angle sure as shit is the most fucked up wrestler they have. His body is deteriorating and he has to be on every drug known to man to just be able to walk. And given his nature, he won't stop till he's dead.
  12. I I I don't know what else to say. This is not just an Angle. Him dying wouldn't be gold.
  13. I should be more clear in my hints... YOU (guys) SUCK.
  14. It actually took me a few seconds to think of who they'd be talking about. ... there's not many top stars in the WWE anymore... But if he died, MAN, thems would be some ratings.
  15. http://www.wweshop.com/product_detail.asp?...ductId=01-07500 This is class.
  16. So I shouldn't propose Chavo and Rey dressing up as white women, then.
  17. Oh man, Sams interview over at UFC.tv is tremendous.. "I'm gonna beat him like I beat my..." Tune in for the answer! http://www.ufc.tv/index.cfm?fa=MultiMedia.Detail&gid=1880
  18. In Rolling Stone (the one with Lily on the cover) they talked with David Fury and he basically said they're pulling a lot of it out of their ass. That they don't know what the numbers mean doesn't surprise me. That they don't have an explanation now doesn't mean they won't in the future, thought. Part of me thinks the Ekos stick was just to mess with people like us who look for every small detail and blow it up. It's fun manipulating people.
  19. Oh man. I was wrong. It's SO a ploy to sell tickets.
  20. Dammit Dangerous A, quit killing my theory. I forgot about that ad revenue thing Let's see if they release a DVD instead.
  21. I'll make this clearification point before the contrary points come in. I don't really think that Gabe and ROH intentionally put "Eddie Guerrero Tribute Show" to make money. I think it's more of a hollow attempt to show they cared about Eddie (which they probably do) but didn't really want to put the effort in to adjusting the card or changing their plans and instead just labelled it "Eddie Tribute Show". I tend to think actions speak louder than words, and for now, this "Eddie Tribute Show" is just words. Like I said before, it's hollow. It's like wearing a ribbon. If the proceeds of this night are going to support his family, then fuck yeah, good for them. If it's just a label, then it's just a label. And part of me thinks that's actually worse than trying to make money off of it.
  22. Good point. That's the one flaw in the reasoning, people would eventually get numb to it. But I imagine they could have a wrestler pass every 3 months and get away with it. From there it's a matter of booking the shows to sustain the audience.
  23. But is this anything that they wouldn't have done had Eddie not died? What's Eddies influence on this night? Hell, tonight I'll have my Eddie Tribute Dinner of Chicken and Mashed Potatoes along with my Eddie Tribute drink of ice cold water, and to follow it up, I'll watch my Eddie Tribute TV Show of LOST and point up to the sky every once in a while and pound my chest for the fallen Guerrero.
