  1. Yeah, nowadays it's just the McMahons repeating their past mistakes. They can't even screw up in a fresh way.
  2. I thought it was pretty clear I've been on cruise control ever since... let's say... WM 20. When they ruined (for me) Benoits big title win, they pretty much killed whatever was left for me in wrestling. Ah well. *watches Fedor/Cro Cop*
  3. Hey, soon enough I'll be done with them. The growth of MMA (superior, more exciting product), coupled with the past 5 years of decline, has me watching -MAYBE- 1 hour of wrestling a week. Just wait a while, I'll be gone
  4. I hate you all.
  5. I watch the WWE because it's on free TV, well aware that it sucks nuts. I won't fool myself into thinking I'm watching something good, rather than watching something that's simply just "on" and is more out of habit than anything.
  6. No one. Perhaps the slightly-retarded. But generally... NO ONE. Can legitimately "like" the WWE. The WWE can't be someones "preference". It's just too bad of a product. So please understand where he (we) are all coming from trying to "psychoanalize" you.
  7. I can't watch it on principle. How many more ways can they have the same show, but with different parts of analyzing a crime? Next we will have a show called "Prints" about a finger-printer/detective.
  8. I'm catching it at 10 on Global.
  9. No dude. You got it all wrong. Once you love this show, you will understand. And there's already FIVE Seasons of it. Firefly, LOST, Shield, Deadwood, Carnivale... just as wonderful, and there's MORE OF IT. Come... join us... It's Bliss.
  10. Yeah, of course. That's one of the reasons why Jcup 94 is often (suggested to be) the first purchase made. You watch that for Benoit, Eddie, and Dean (Even Taka and Lyger), and you see Sasuke, Delphin, Ohtani and Hayabusa (El Sam to some extent) and you get interested in those guys as well. I, personally, don't know why someone wouldn't want to pick up that show (don't want to buy on-line??). I guess you'd have to ask them. Some people are afraid to watch it because it's unfamilar, and some people just don't want to put the effort in and will get by on watching Raw.
  11. All I will say is that it is hard to get into something new. Period. With the WWE, most people here have probably grown up with it from an early age and when we're younger everything is new, so it's not quite as hard. Over time, as new wrestlers are introduced and mesh with the older, more familiar, wrestlers, we hardly notice the change. When you watch foreign wrestling, it's all lumped on you at once.
  12. I was like... "That's not that bad" And then I remembered it wasn't Smackdown.
  13. Season 5 probably is the best season, going by the amount of quality episodes. I mean, it has Homer-goes-to-College, Deep Space Homer, Treehouse of Horror IV (Bart Simpsons Dracula~!), and Boy Scoutz in da Hood... these are top 10-ers, with the first two being in my top 5. A few weeks ago Curry and I were watching some of this on DVD (and we've seen these episodes well over 20 times each), and IT WAS STILL HILARIOUS. I don't mean just "funny". I mean HILARIOUS. Laugh-out-loud-until-your-face-turns-read, hilarious.
  14. While Season 3 is a top season, the two Seasons that compete for the #1 spot are Season 4 and 5. These seasons are not only the best in the shows history, but some of the best television ever. Season 4 is where the Simpsons goes into 1000 laughs territory, and sorta drops the moral lessons of the first few seasons. Homer gets more whacky, but his goofery doesn't become as overwhelming as it does in later seasons. This season is absurdly quotable and has 2 amazing episodes plus the greatest quote -IMO- in Simpsons history. A Streetcar Named Marge (Top 5 episode of all time) Homer The Heretic (Another top 5 episode) Treehouse Of Horror III ("Dad! You killed Zombie-Flanders!" "He was a zombie?" !!!!!)
  15. Season 3 is probably the best "storytelling" season of the Simpsons. This is when they were trying to mix together more "adult" stories (not adult in the way they do today with "adult topics" like porn, but stories that would appeal to adults) with humour, rather than being a straight comedy. Less gags, more substance and has some legitimately touching moments. Very re-watchable in that regard. Notable episodes: "Homer at Bat" (Top 10 of all time), "Black Widower" (Sideshow Bob marries Selma), "Bart the Lover" (with Mrs. Krabapple), "Separate Vacations" (Bart goes good, Lisa goes bad). "Homer Alone" (Marge goes to Rancho Relaxo), "Radio Bart" (Timmy gets stuck in the well feat. the all-time classic "Sending our Love down the well"), "Flaming Moes" (top 15 episode), "Bart the Murderer" (Bart gets a job with the mob), "Treehouse of Horrors II" "...that's bad". All in all, a very solid season with some great high points. You can't go wrong with Season 3.
  16. Herc gives the premiere *****. For me, when Herc gives shit *****, it's a must-watch. http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=21252
  17. Plain and Simple, the only reason people watch the WWE is because it's on TV and they're familiar with the wrestlers. If the WWE and AJPW switched countries, there wouldn't be many people trading for Wrestlemania tapes.
  18. I am debating. Since I am not done Season 5, I am a lil weary about going into Season 6. *Spoilers?* I know Rory left Yale after stealing a boat with Tristan Part Deux, and moved in with her Grandparents and Lorelai (who is very unhappy with Rory) proposed to Luke. I know all the characters involved, so it's not like its going to be a whole lot of unfamiliar, but still... I still need to see about 11 more episodes. I'll probably watch the first five minutes, and if I am not completely fucked up, I'll watch the rest... it's just... I have never really watched "new" episodes before...
  19. No, it wasn't believable. (I'll add to this) Did the crowd react to the match? Yes, of course they did. Would they react to HBK beating up Cena? Yes, of course they would. They also reacted to Hogan beating up HBK. That's what the live fans do with popular wrestlers. If one was willing to conceed that Hogan beating up HBK was believable on the basis of crowd reaction, then I'd conceed that HBK could get the better of Cena. I'm not actually in this to say what HBK can and can't do. I just want to see the same standard be applied. Nevertheless, is Jericho (who is also bigger and younger than HBK) beating up Cena, in the context of physical attributes, believable? No. Jerichos moveset isn't believable enough to even suggest he'd get the upper hand on a guy like Cena. Cena is much bigger than Jericho, and shouldn't have given up that much offense. But that's how the WWE books. They book Batista like that, for some unknown reason.
  20. But who bought Jericho as a contender for Cena? Let alone someone who could beat Cena and have a long reign?
  21. But it's Shawn Michaels... ... he can't kick the crap out of anyone.
  22. I luv Hogan.
  23. I don't think Hogan was _ever_ on a full-time schedule. So saying *he's* "retired" when he does 2 or 3 matches a year, is a bit off. Growing up, I'd see Hogan as much as I saw him this year. If that. The point is still the same with Michaels, the guy was once retired for a reason, meaning that his "best days" are long behind him. But let's continue to hold HBK at a different standard because um... err...
  24. HBK's not retired, dumb fuck. So that whole period between 1998 and 2002 was what??
  25. The argument is that HBK, based on "objective analysis" using "physical factors" (as used when saying Hogan shouldn't have beaten HBK - age, proximity to retirement, physical ability) can't believably beat Cena, period. Angle is pretty small too, and is a physical wreck.
