  1. The countdown show is on right now. They condensed all the action in Serra/Lytle in about 20 and actually made it look non-boring.
  2. Yes! Since she was in the final 2 it is guaranteed Haley will do something that will make me use lots of exclamation marks and capitalization!!
  3. Oh man, the early PRIDE fan in me is jizzing all over Igor vs. Wandy. This card is the dope.
  4. Hughes spoke a bit of trash on Trigg from his website. Not big fans of Twinkle Toes at MFS?
  5. Haley needs to stay because she is fully aware that her trampyness is what is keeping her in the game and, dammit, one day she will come out on a pogo-stick! Lakisha belongs in a John Waters movie, there, I said it. Someone had to. So does Phil, for that matter. Dammit, why couldn't she just sing in a giant cardboard box? Dammit, why does she have to have an ample bosom?
  6. Gah, damn the inventor of double sided tape! Damn you obviously gay man! So much less jiggle than a few weeks ago, colour me disappointed.
  7. Jesus Is Lord, does Haley need to, you know, like, star in porn.
  8. It's all so backhanded though, which makes it -to me- all the more brutal.
  9. I hope Sanjaya rocks the sleazy facial hair more and morphs into the Brown Banderas. Oh my god they are really, really, slaughtering Sanjaya. Like, I don't think I've ever see them blatantly say any contestant doesn't deserve to be there like they do with Sanjaya.
  10. Oh man, Sanjaya is hilarious. He's totally fucking around. YES, you FLIRT with that 8 year old!~
  11. Is she having a bunch of mini-seizures, or is it just me? Ok, I APPROVE of her look, I DISAPPROVE of everything else. Nice vocal, but really bland and boring and all the same criticism the judges gave to Phil.
  12. Ok, despite the hostess outfit, she is ADORABLE.
  13. Ok, seriously, who is dressing these people? Is she singing or showing people to their table? Honestly.
  14. You sing infront of Tony fn Bennett and don't know the gatdamn words? I don't watch the results shows, so I don't know how Chris places, but unless Sanjaya comes out with Hitler hair and 'stache, I can't see Chris lasting beyond this round. Ok, clearly I am crazy. Clearly. Cause I thought he was torrible.
  15. Phil. Man. He just insists on going low. He's like Toni fucking Braxton that way.
  16. I am FOR this hair style on Melinda. It looks all awkwardy on her and that's awesome. She KILLED that song at the end, JEEESUS. Simon is tremendous here. "I don't think we will ever be able to criticize you... and that's a problem!" "Every song has a beginning, middle, and end"
  17. I actually really, really liked that performance. Probably my favourite of his so far. That is pretty much as good as he is going to get in terms of pure vocal performance.
  18. Marcelo Garcia is debuting in MMA soon for Gracie Fighting Championships on May 19th against Marcus Avellan. It's been pretty hit-or-miss for elite Jiu Jitsu guys to make it in MMA, but it's hard to find anyone better than Marcelo and he has been very successful at no-gi grappling, so I hope his transition to MMA is a smooth one because him at 155 would be something.
  19. God that was hilarious, what stud wrote that? Dude, Aoki. Zelg. C'mon.
  20. The last time Randy got tapped, Shaggy had a hit song. When Shaggy becomes relevant again, so does Randy's submission avoidance game.
  21. This card, is awesome. I don't care. ZELG~! AOKI~! SOKOUDJOU~! YVEL~! BUTTERBEAN~! FUJITA~! FRYE~! VESUS~! JAMESIE~! This card is steeped in what made PRIDE: Retarded Greatness. Honestly, who doesn't want to see this? ZELG is going to rape face. AOKI is going to do his impression of Mr. Fantastic on some dude whose name sounds like something that could get you in trouble in the wrong neighbourhood. We get to see if SOKOUDJOU is more than a 1-hit wonder. We get to see GILBERT YVEL against a dude who hit a super dope spinkick in his last PRIDE outing. We get to see Fujita vs. Monson, which is, like, two really stocky guys... and... did I mention FRYE vs. THOMPSON????!! You remember Frye vs. Takayama? You remember every Thompson fight? AWESOME. Plus Butterbean vs. Zulu. C'mon, you want this. Maybe not for money. But you want this. It's not going to be good-bye, but, so long.
  22. Explain. Where do you see Fedor having the overwhelming advantage? Because against wrestlers like Randleman and Coleman, Fedor was able to get taken down. Even against someone with a sub-par shot like Noguiera, Fedor got taken down. And those are guys who shoot low, which is going against Fedor's strengths which is his hip control and balance. We haven't really seen anyone take it took Fedor in the clinch. Actually, on second thought, Randleman did well against Fedor in the clinch. Fedor uses the same strategies as Randy does for takedowns, with leg trips and upper-body throws. Given their experience and pedigree, I think it would be much harder for Fedor to take Randy down than it would be for Randy to take Fedor down. Standing, Fedor throws long bombs that only work when his opponents keep their hands low. Randy doesn't. They also work when the opponent covers up and doesn't counter - Randy is not afraid to get hit and will counter. Speaking of countering, Randy has only been rocked when counter-punched and on the offensive, and Fedor doesn't offer much of a threat in that area. Against Cro Cop, Fedor was remarkable in his countering, but that was by design - he had to counter or else he would lose. Since Randy does not pose as much of a threat standing, nor does he have the tools that Cro Cop has, I can't see Fedor adopting that strategy for Couture, since Fedor took so much damage employing that countering strategy (coupled with Randy's straight punches). Therefore, I don't see either guy doing much damage on their feet. So I think standing up, where their striking will only be used to set up their grappling, Randy will get a takedown and put Fedor on his back. Fedor does have the ability to tap Randy off his back, as he did Coleman, and he does have the ability to sweep him as he did Randleman and Nog, but I see Randy being able to neutralize that as his control and submission awareness is better than their's. Fedor hasn't really been put on his back for very long, as he likes to give up his back rather than stay on it, and I think Randy is smart enough to see that and it will be interesting to see what he does to capitalize on that. I can see Randy doing his fair share of GnP damage on the ground to Fedor, but Fedor is very good at avoiding damage and is so adaptable that I don't see Randy finishing it there. I say Randy takes Fedor down a bunch of times and Fedor gets back up, rinse and repeat. Where Fedor does have the advantage is in conditioning. Fedor went 20 minutes at a high pace with Nog twice and with Cro Cop. Randy was winded against Sylvia after 10 minutes. With-that-said, moving around 280 is a lot harder than moving around 230, I don't care how strong Fedor is, he won't make Randy work hard enough to gas that early. I do think Randy would eventually get gassed against Fedor, and that Fedor would have a very good chance to win with GnP in the championship rounds, but what makes this a great fight is that for the first 3 rounds it would be hotly competitive with advantage Couture. So all Randy would have to do is avoid getting put on his back for 2 rounds and he could win the decision (the only way I can see Randy beating Fedor is by cut or decision).
  23. Well, I meant it more in a "2003 wasn't really that long ago, but it feels like a lifetime in MMA", but what you present here is an interesting discussion point, with us coming up on the sports 15th year. 1993-1998 vs. 1998-2003 vs. 2003-2008. In the long-run, we are still probably in what is considered MMA's formative years*, though standing in it now, it's easier to see more distinct rings in the tree stump, so to speak, in terms of the sports development. From 1993-1998, we went from one-style fighters to cross-training. From 1998-2003, we saw a great deal of development in the "MMA style", where it wasn't about "cross-training"; it was about "total-training". 2003-now, it's not just about training styles, it's about training conditioning, strategy, and general preparation. Granted, you would see hints of what is to come in the previous "eras" (for lack of a better term), but in terms of emphasis, today it's not about knowing everything - we already know you have to know everything - it's much more scientific than it was 10 years ago, or IMO even 5 years ago. So I would say that a great deal of change has happened, but it's more like improving the engine and the breaks in a car, rather than figuring out where to put the wheels and the windows. *MMA as we know it. Vale Tudo, which predates 1993 UFC/Pancrase, is a different subject, but needless to say, worldwide MMA growth began with the UFC*
  24. You also know what's pretty good? YOUR IMPENDING DOOM!!!!!!
