That Roy ceremony had a funeral atmosphere to it. Roy couldn't wait to get out, the fans were tired of applauding as the number was raised and Roy was gone about two minutes after raising the banner. He's probably on his way home right now.

It's Krejci. He's not big but he's fearless. Once he matures, he's going to be a more defensively responsible Marc Savard.

I don't think "Luongo for Vezina" has ever been far-fetched. Not to rational people. Bruins roll the Panthers. 11-1-1 last 13. Hope to ruin Wah's night tomorrow.

I don't get how the Canucks are doing well at all. By all rights, they should be a worse team than last year but they're looking so much better. [/argument]

Did you hear that? Garbo is coming!

I meant that I think Mussina will be this generation's Blyleven. Blyleven should be in, in my opinion, but all we hear are reasons why he shouldn't be in rather than why he should be in. Mussina didn't win 300 games and just won 20 for the first time last season. Just seems like something that the voters will harp on, like Blyleven who never won 20 or 300.

Wild game in Boston tonight. 4-4 about five minutes into the second. Some of the idiots were sarcastically cheering Fernandez but Buffalo's goals were all deflections or a fucking ridiculous backhander by Pominville. edit: Of course, Kobasew gives the Bruins the lead by bouncing one off of Miller. I love this team. edit 2: Once the Bruins went back to the umbrella style on the powerplay, their powerplay has been clicking. Kobasew and Ryder down by the net taking the damage, Bergeron and Savard in the high slot along the walls and Chara at the top with his shot. Bergeron and Savard have the passing abilities and Kobasew and Ryder have the ability to deflect. Powerplay 2 seems to be Kessel and Lucic down low (again, Kessel willing to get dirty by the net on the powerplay), Krejci running it along the wall with Wideman and Hunwick on the point. Then they run the overload with either Kessel/Krejci along the wall, Lucic in front and Kessel/Krejci looking for the back door pass. The defense can pinch in and outnumber down low, but they have to be agile, something Wideman and Hunwick are.

Mussina = Blyleven, I think. And every year we hear more and more reasons why Blyleven SHOULDN'T be in.

Komisarek is hit-or-miss with me. He's a good player, but maybe I just don't watch him enough. He gets turned a lot, which is something that heavy body guys struggle with, but his physicality I guess makes up for it. I heard they took votes away for Elbow-lev this weekend. The league has been looking into vote tampering in Montreal, since I think Steve Begin has more votes than Crosby or something like that (kidding). Still, if it's the West v. Montreal at the start of the game, all I hope for is a puck to the throat of someone.

That's old news, but I think i like it...

Disappointed in the Bruins loss, but they ran out of gas in the third. Three games in four nights will do that. Still, to take five of a possible six points is fine by me. No rest for them either, four games next week.

New trailer looks outstanding.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=255866&...s=topStory_main Barry Melrose lasts 16 games in his triumphant return to the NHL after 14 years. WTG Barry! My reaction upon reading this was uncontrollable laughter. Charter a plane to Bristol, Barry. Maybe you can be home in time to be made fun of on ESPNEWS during the 8 o'clock hour.

Oh wait, there are fans in Boston? Nice to show up. Team gets rolled in more ways than one...attack the fanbase. Nice to see Habs fans are still the class of the league.

A good game could have happened if the refs had allowed it. Chicago wanted to play, Boston wanted to play, the refs decided "that's enough of that" and proceeded to call every single little fucking thing. 18 penalties so far as we head to overtime. Byfuglien got his shit rearranged by Thornton for being the third man in, even though Byfuglien was the third man in, Thornton gets the instigator AND a 10 minute misconduct. That followed Khabibulin coming out and clotheslining Kobasew 10 feet out of the crease. It's always sad when the refs decide to affect the flow of what could have been a fun, exciting, interesting game. Too bad. Instead of a wild 5-4 shootout, we will end with a 2-1 game marred by unnecessary penalties. As I type this, Barker is called for a minor hook :32 into overtime that will likely decide the game. Unreal. edit: HOW THE FUCK IS THAT A FUCKING PENALTY SHOT. Sharp was even with Ward, who swept down and got puck then Sharp. Nope, somehow that's a penalty shot. This might be the worst officiated game...of the week or something. edit2: Of course this fucking weird game ends with PJ Axelsson of all people scores the winning shootout goal. Weird, weird, weird.

Georgia Tech is having a good season in football too. And the Thrashers are desparately trying to not be picking in the top 5...again.

I tried the buffalo one and it was really greasy. Wouldn't give it very high marks.

The Bruins have an underrated defense, but not the best in the NHL. That they are where they are with Chara and no defined #2 defenseman is remarkable. Wideman sees a lot of minutes, Ward sees quite a bit as well, but they have no #2 defenseman to pair with Chara. Statisically, they're still paying for earlier this season when they had a bad stretch of games. They've come on lately and have been very solid. As far as the forwards go, they're certainly more responsible then most. Savard, Kessel, Ryder and Sturm, players considered to be offense first guys are always backchecking now. Julien running the Box Plus 1 defensive strategy relies heavily on forwards being defensively responsible, and now that the offense-first players are buying in, the Bruins have been really buckling down in their own end. They still struggle on the PK, something owed to the lack of a true #2 defenseman, but their powerplay has been balancing that out lately.

Bruins have won 6 of 7 and are absolutely rattling everyone they play. Mair wanted absolutely nothing to do with Lucic last night, nobody on the Sabres did and there was nobody to corral him, since I think Peters and Gaustad are both hurt. Now they get a 7 game in 11 days stretch. The same thing happened last year, they went on a roll and had a big stretch of games and almost knocked themselves out of playoff contention. Should be different this year. Loving this team so far.
