Let's play stats: - The last 18 games, Petr Tenkrat's line: 0-1-1. -6 - Chistov: 11 games, 0 points. -8. - Axelsson has 1 goal in 15 games since he came back from injury and is a minus-11. And he's a "top line left-winger". - Mowers is 0-2-2 and a -4 in his last 13 games - Primeau is 1-2-3 and a -6 in his last 11 games - Donovan is 1-3-4 and a -8 in his last 22 games - Brad Boyes is 0-0-0 in his last 14 games. - Bergeron has 4 points in 9 games and is a -9 in that span. - Before tonight's assist, Savard had gone three games without a point. I'm going to go to bed. Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow morning, there will be a talented offensive player on the Boston Bruins.

7-1 is your final. I had the Sabres feed on XM. Rick Jeanerette should have his throat cut out. The Bruins were getting housed, which made it harder to listen to, but his obnoxious SCCCCCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE after every Sabres goal almost made me throw my $200 XM receiver out the window. PS- Hockey gods, go fuck yourselves.

Bruins call up David Krejci. They play the Sabres tonight, so...7-1? 8-1? Shutout? It's all looking good. I'm gonna go hang myself.

Jack is cursed. So far this season: Two field agents sent to help Jack? Dead. Curtis? Dead. With the exception of Chloe and Bill, everyone who Jack confides in or depends on to stand at his side dies. If I were James Cromwell, I'd start stealing things from the set now. He can't be long for the show.

And a second rounder in 2008. Good deal for the Kings. Dump salary and get a young and talented headcase back. Plus two draft picks.

Barbaro glue: 15 dollars a bottle.

The Hub of Losing continues. I'm too tired to get into it, but Wayne Primeau out there on a 6-on-4 powerplay at the end of the game basically sums up this entire season. And the thing that sucks is that as much as I want to blame Dave Lewis, what does he have, really? Patrice Bergeron has been battling a lower body (I've read hip) injury for about a month now. He's been off his game, he's been avoiding contact more, not shooting when he can and dare I say, taking a night off from time to time. Savard is the lone bright spot, but there are no clones of him unfortunately. Kessel has come back more aerodynamic, but Lewis refuses to use him in key spots despite proving himself a lot recently. Axelsson is a defensive-minded forward pretending to be a first line left winger, Murray can't score unless Savard gives him a perfect tape to tape pass and I think Savard might have to take the shot for him too. Mowers sucks, but Lewis loves him, Primeau and Donovan despite none of them adding anything to the team. The point is that Lewis can't motivate any of them, but he's been dealt crappy cards. It's hard to win the hand when you have nothing.

Next week, two of my favorite movies of all-time on fabulous HD Net Movies... Caddyshack, followed by Real Genius. Awesomeness. I'm debating calling off work. And I built an entertainment unit around my tv that came out surprisingly well. Didn't know I had the carpentry skills, but I guess the equation goes: Max + spare lumber + boredom x a week of unused vacation hours = new entertainment center.

Hey, it's Gangsta Laurel! Where's Grandmasta Hardy?

TV deaths that pissed you off or upset you
the max replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Tony Almeida going out like a wuss really pissed me off. Season 4 was Tony's best season and to have him basically be a guest star in season 5 and go out getting stabbed with a syringe by Henderson was bullshit. -
Really? That got old after about 15 seconds.

I've been on a great kick of Van the Man and Dire Straits lately. Ball and Chain by Van the Man is on now. Just listened to the entire Dire Straits self-titled cd/album/collection of songs.

Breakfast - Banana and half a bagel. Lunch - Some peanuts and a few bottles of water. Dinner - I'm thinking a turkey sandwich and some of those great "Blazin' Buffalo Ranch" Doritos in front of the NHL ASG.

In a word, hell fucking no. MOC was right in getting rid of him, he just didn't get anything back that was worth dick. Lucic (what that 2nd rounder ended up) may be useful someday, but I think the Bruins and their fans got tired of Samsonov's "skateskateskateskateskateskate" followed by a turnover, falling down or awful angle shot that had no chance of going in.

Max's email: "Wait, so Pat Burrell ISN'T Joe DiMaggio?! Slow news day, eh Bill?" A reply from the great Bill Conlin: "Yeah, but only for you, dimwit." DiMaggio would have had a better comeback, Bill. And he's dead.
-
I just read that about five times and cringed more with every word. Bill Conlin is a horse's ass.

Breakfast - Two macintosh apples which are really small down here. I'm used to the fucking watermelon sized ones I used to get in Massachusetts. Lunch - I brought sandwiches to work (well, I kept them in the cooler in my truck) as well as some peanuts and a few bottles of water scattered through the day. Dinner - I'm thinking of using the rest of the stuffed pepper filling that I made the other night with some gravy on it, a biscuit or two and a baked potato.

Boston Bruins: Untouchable: Patrice Bergeron Marc Savard Zdeno Chara Phil Kessel Mark Stuart Matt Lashoff Available if you ask REALLY nicely: Brad Boyes PJ Axelsson Paul Mara Stanislav Chistov Hannu Toivonen Andrew Alberts Throw-ins: Wayne Primeau Mark Mowers Shean Donovan Petr Tenkrat (seriously, please someone take him) Jeff Hoggan Jason York (fans of the team would chip in to pay for his plane ticket if you take him) Currently shopping: Brad Stuart (I've heard that talks have gone well from some places, and the opposite from other places. If he's not signing in Boston long-term, he's wearing a different uniform later this season.) Marco Sturm (UFA, one-dimensional, great at shootouts. Has value because of his speed.) Glen Murray (Big money scorer. Needs good passing center to be able to score goals, since he has no physical presense or desire to create on his own...wears an "A" because he's a veteran, rarely shows any leadership qualities besides bleeding and looking angry) Needs: - Grit. Not necessarily talented grit either. Raffi Torres maybe? Darren McCarty? Something along those lines. Someone needs to get in the corners and start racking heads. I'm not exactly the biggest fan of fighting, but it'd be nice to see once in a while without having to watch another team's games. - Defensemen. Outside of Big Z, the defense is a joke. Bruins need a skilled guy back in the zone to hit people and play good, solid defense. Not trying too hard to create offensively. - Goaltending. Tim Thomas tries really hard. But he's not a #1 goaltender (despite things that I have said to the contrary). He's a very streaky player. He can be absolutely lights out for a week or so at a time. But if he plays too much, he gets tired and his positioning suffers. He's had some very bad games recently. Very bad.

He's also one of the premier defensive right fielders in the game. But he refused to sign with Philly and he's had a couple of freak injuries, so he must be a lousy bum. Don't forget that he's signed(?) with the Red Sox, the goddamn most evil team since the motherfucking Yankees!

Breakfast - I made a burrito with some salsa, scrambled eggs, sausage and cheese on my way out the door this morning. Washed it down with a bottle of water. Lunch - I happened to be near a local deli for work and had one of the best pastrami sandwiches of my entire life. Swiss cheese, a touch of mustard and one leaf of lettuce on rye. It was almost perfect. Had two deviled eggs and a glass of home-brewed (in the restaurant) sweet tea with it. Dinner - I'm probably going to make sweet potato soup.

Because they realize that they'll get ratings for people watching for the trainwrecks early on. Those people will stop watching once it gets "serious" to be replaced by teenage girls and other people obsessed with the show. There's certainly a market for watching people make complete fools of themselves on national TV, why do you think youtube is so popular? If anything, they're smart for the way they cut the first few episodes. They give you a few gems with a bunch of crap. Then as the non-fans of the show stop watching, they're replaced. They have good ratings, I'm sure, from the first few episodes every year. It works.

The Broons responded well to Lewis's shakeup...of course, there was no change in personnel, just line combos were changed. They took a point from Buffalo and have a chance to do it again wednesday.

The last time I sat and stared at the tv like that, Jack had just found his wife dead. And I want the soundbite that Wayne used, "Get me Jack Bauer" to be my ringtone.
