The White Sox really needed to win this game, with the Angels being so tired from the amount of travel time they've had in the last 48 hours. Contreras threw a good game, but Byrd was excellent and was helped by his bullpen. And on the plus side, Sweet Lou wasn't even that bad in the booth, I thought. Then again, I only heard a little of him from having the smaller tv on mute when SVU was on.

I knew the Bolts were talented, but they have some guys (outside of the big four) that really surprised me. I was pretty impressed with their defensemen, especially Pratt.

I'm personally hoping for Gerry Hunsicker. Philadelphia native with friends in the organization, was the architect of the Astros, and really left because he was sick of dealing with Drayton McClain. Yeah, those Astros won a TON of postseason games. He's definitely the guy for the job.

I listened to most of it on the Sirius radio (me and the girlfriend were fishing) and it sounds to me that they need size on the blueline more than anything right now. Gill is Gill, we've been over that enough. They need to get someone with some good size. I'm extremely happy that they won, coming from behind. Toivonen didn't sound like he played particularly well, but an offensive team like the Pens will do that. Afternoon games weren't anything offensive. The Crapitals beat the Rangers 3-2 on Ovechkin's first. The Panthers beat the Isles 3-1, adding an empty netter from Rostislav Olesz as his first career NHL goal.

Unfunny from your opinion though. As far as Waiting goes, I like Dane Cook, Dave Koechner and Justin Long. Plus, I used to work in the restaurant industry. As for The Longest Yard, I like Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, plus I love the original film. Added into that I saw it when the girlfriend was out of town for the weekend and had absolutely nothing better to do with a free movie pass and there you have it. Again, this is you taking your opinion and telling me how wrong I am. Have you ever worked in the restaurant business? I know I never spit in anyone's food, but I can damn sure bet you that there were times that I wanted to say some of the things they say in this movie. Is it a remake/homage to a movie that I like? Do I know any of the actors? You make it sound like that's the only reason that I said I didn't want to see it. It doesn't look interesting AT ALL. However, since the girlfriend and I see a lot of movies, I looked for reasons to see it. I read critics mostly for a laugh, because I find them to be dead wrong for me. I don't like the writer of the movie. But the last thing that I could think of was that I have never heard of anyone in the cast. Add that into the fact that the movie looks awful, the trailer didn't really move me to even look up information on the film and that I don't like the writer of the film...but hey, I just like watching movies about people spitting on other people's food. The trailer takes all of that from one scene. However, they are constantly playing a pretty gross/homophobic game with each other throughout the movie.

Maybe now you'll be entertaining.

Do people not read movie reviews anymore? I dunno. Outstanding critical acclaim usually pushes me in the right direction and creates a "reason." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't share likes with most critics. I like what I like. If I see the preview and it looks like the movie is going to blow, I'm not going to see it. Serenity. It's based on a tv show that I watched exactly once and didn't like. It's by a writer that I'm not particularly fond of. It doesn't have an actor that I like in it. The preview looked dull to me. So, where's my reason to see it? Critical acclaim? I learned my lesson on critical acclaim with The Aviator amongst numerous others.

Could probably just make it "Nigeria = scam."

Since I didn't watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel, I'm not going to see it based on Whedon. So, as a not even fan, I'd expect them to try to knock me on my ass to make me think "Hey, that looks interesting" and go see it instead of a movie like Waiting with little (if any)star power. Why should I see a film that I have no reason to see? At least if there were someone in it that I recognized, I would say "Well, that doesn't look good at all, but __________ is in it!" which I've done with a few films this year (the last film being The Longest Yard that I saw for my love of the original and Sandler looked pretty good in it.)

Well, it got evened out when Furcal was out after stealing second and coming off the bag.

After everyone creaming over Serenity, I watched the trailer online and waited to get knocked on my ass. It looks like a sci-fi show that you'd watch on UPN or WB when there's nothing else on on a saturday afternoon. Just didn't look interesting at all. Maybe if I had heard of someone in the film, I might have checked it out. The girlfriend and I checked out Waiting and other than the idiotic fucks yelling out advice to the characters on screen, it was an enjoyable experience. Not anything that I'd buy on dvd, but a good amount of LOL moments.

Since I didn't give a damn who won or not, I just enjoyed it. Fun game.

Yeah, they probably did. I don't see the point in keeping him holed up in the AHL, especially with the offense that they have.
