I can't find any updates on Leetch, so hopefully he's just day-to-day. I don't think Alberts/Dallman would make a good pairing, because it seems that they both need a veteran to hold their hand through the game right now. Leetch has enough to worry about, as does Boynton. I'd make a package of players and try to lure Rob Blake from Colorado. They've already declined the option on him for next season and getting something for him would be Colorado's best bet. From the Bruins perspective, they need a #1, go-to guy. Blake may only have a few years left in him, but he's been playing well as of late and can be a stopgap until something better comes on the market. On paper this is a very good offensive team with two great young goaltenders. The huge hole is at defense. I'd look into giving up any combo of Isbister, PJ, Scatchard, Fitzgerald and Leahy (even though I like him). Plus the Bruins have a wealth of young prospects.

BJ Ryan being a free agent right now is going to be like him robbing a bank. Both the Red Sox and Yanks want him, so there's to be a bidding war there that teams like the Phillies will have to deal with. I don't think he's going to sign for cheap.

I use the Schick EXTREME three blade razor with Edge pro gel. I tried using the Quattro and promptly tore my neck up. I'll never understand the use of more than three blades.

Bruins lose 4-3 in OT after Jiri Slegr gets torched by Shawn Bates for the winner. Leetch and Isbister were both hurt in the second. Leetch hurt his knee, while it appears that Scatchard may have reaggravated the groin injury he's been fighting. It appears Mikey has decided to pair Señora Gill and Nick Boynton on the second pairing, I guess to help Boynton get into playing shape faster by having to cover for Señora in the defensive zone. Toivonen has been very good in a backup capacity, but he needs to get his rebounds under control.

Someone please change the spelling to "November" on the thread title, please. That's going to drive me crazy for the next month. Bruins get the Isles tonight, hopefully they can actually hang onto a lead, which is something that they've been unable to do so far this season. At some point this season, they're going to have to make a trade for a defenseman. I'm sorry, but Kevin Dallman and Andy Alberts have not shown that they are ready to be at this level. And who is the backup? Ian Moran, a guy better suited to play as a forward because he's not big enough to be a full-time defenseman. God forbid anyone should get injured. They only have essentially six defensemen. The offense is OK, nothing exceptional but nothing bad. I'm hoping that if Zhamnov is ever healthy enough to play that he can bring a little bit extra something. The lines are good, but an extra finisher wouldn't hurt.

They're not going to replace him with a deaf mute. There will still be talent there, it just might effect the way that the team does business.

I've enjoyed what few shootouts that I've seen (especially the Wild v. Blue Jackets game from last week, the first shootout to go into sudden death). As a hockey "purist" (for lack of a better term) it's not right to see a game ended on a skills competition (it's like ending a baseball game after 12 innings by having a homerun derby) and I would rather see the tie. But, as an objective fan, I see the positive impact that it's having on the game, it pushes the 1-on-1 skater v. goalie matchup that is interesting and it gets people interested. PLUS, it gives the winning team the extra point in the points column, which will make the shootout even more dramatic as we get into the playoff stretch. In other non-rules related news, the Senators sent Brandon Bochenski down to make room for the returning Martin Havlat.

Yeah it's pretty dangerous. People do it down here; They go 40 in a 60 mph zone on a one-lane stretch and then speed up when I try to pass them. One guy wouldn't let me pass, so I called the cops and gave them his plate number and said he was a drunk driver and was swerving all over the road.

My mom's house was powerless until friday night. We lost it for a matter of a few hours. No damage to report at my place or my mom's, but a lot of Fort Myers has just gotten power back (including traffic lights).

At the top of the thread, DH.

The girlfriend bought a carving kit with stencils, so hers has a vampire and bats carved into it. Mine is eight triangles, as I took it old-school.

Any Devils fans (ha ha, I know) know what the JM is for on their sweaters?

Is it just internet explorer popping up repeatedly or is it internet pop-up ads?

Yeah and making a gigantic deal about someone surviving three types of cancer and then winning the most grueling contest in sports a few more times is SO boring![/sarcasm]

Is 10pm past prime time, because I'm surprised that Law and Order: Special Victims Unit wasn't on there in either capacity.

Carolla's show on TLC is way better.

http://www.olntv.com/nw/article/view/1267/...pl&UserDef=true Show me where they have Carolina v. Florida as a game of the week. Carolina plays one game on OLN, home against Detroit (a matchup from the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals).

Got my mom's place plywooded up this morning. Gas is still available for the most part, although I should gas up my work truck, as diesel will probably be hard to come by. Normally I'd work on monday, but that doesn't look likely at all.

Yeah! From now on, NO MORE MUSIC IN ADS OR DURING BREAKS IN PLAY! For the ads, it'll be someone dribbling a ball for 15 seconds with a simple (not flashy) "NBA returns 11-1."

Al, if Jones doesn't sign with the Yanks, do you see them making a run at Juan Pierre? He had a down year by his standards, but he's always seemed like a pretty good leadoff guy. His arm isn't good in center, but he's damn fast getting to the ball.

Funny, I'd take Berg and Antropov over Mrs. Gill.

Golden Gate Parkway starts in Golden Gate and becomes part of Naples around Livingston Rd.

I would welcome Aki Berg to replace Hal Gill. The difference is that Berg knows how to play the body and doesn't think he's the next Bobby Orr. Numerous times have passed and there will be numerous times in the future that Hal Gill is caught up-ice with no reason for being there. FFS, he shares ice time with Boyes and Axelsson (who has improved so far), both of whom are lightyears ahead of Gill in terms of talent, skating ability and offensive prowess. Meanwhile, Gill is now stuck up-ice leaving his defensive partner (either Andy Alberts or Kevin Dallman) to fend for themselves while he lumbers back into position.
