If they win the Super Bowl, I assume you won't be jumping on the "greatest team ever assembled" bandwagon.

How the fuck are the Pats 14-point favorites when they only beat an injury-ridden Chargers team by 9 and almost lost to the Giants already? If I were a betting man, I'd put money on the Giants to cover unless it drops tremendously between now and then. I'm sure the betting lines are high to make a lot of people second-guess picking the Pats, which is why they were being given the highest lines in history toward the end of the season. It's about balance.

"Heater-gate." I like it.
-
Not pretty, but gotta give credit to the o-line, tight ends and running backs. They really picked up Brady when he looked terrible.
-
That happened to me, but I ended up with a scar on my hand. Wait.

Are you kidding? This shit is why I get up in the morning. Where else can you get banter like this? ...

Same pace. I don't think people hate the Patriots because they won multiple titles. They hate players like Harrison for being dirty and "getting no respect," Brady for being a trash-talking pretty boy, Belichick b/c he's the biggest prick in the game and because most Pats fans are obnoxious, arrogant and ignorant. Q) When will the AFC East be competitive again?
-
Odds are if I have enough money to afford a sports team, I either inherited it or got rich doing something else. I'd sign the checks and expect to be consulted on big decisions, but I'd trust my staff and their recommendations. Q. How many more championships would the Boston Celtics have won if not for the untimely demises of Len Bias and Reggie Lewis?

Seriously? Go re-watch Foley's Hell in a Cell matches. He's way more out of his fucking mind.

I really can't believe what I'm watching.

The scars are what make it work.

"That's when I knew I had not. Arrived yet." Amazing commercial.

Seattle/Green Bay: To me, this is the toughest one to call. Could easily go Green Bay's way, but somehow I don't see all four top teams winning. JAX/NE: Make or break for Garrard. Belichick takes away the best thing a team does and makes them win some other way. I like Del Rio, but they're going to have to throw the ball well to win (especially if they fall behind early). SD/Indy: The lack of a healthy Gates and the return of Harrison are big reasons Indy wins this game. Bob Sanders will keep LT quiet, and I don't think Phillip Rivers can put up enough points to outscore Peyton Manning, especially without Gates. NYG/Dallas: Eli's streak of good games comes to a close. Tony Romo does just enough to win.

You make it sound like he had this monster campaign and then got crushed like Mike Dukakis- he won't be remembered for this.

This was an exciting game to watch. Only one turnover really surprised me. The Pats went 6-13 on 3rd downs, but it seemed like they were converting every 3rd and long in the second half. Brandon Jacobs is a monster. If they had stayed with him in the second half, I could've easily seen the Giants pulling this one off. Some really dick moves by Harrison/Wilfork leave a sour taste, but 16-0 is history. I know suggesting to you people not to bitch about the refs is a reach, but excessive celebration is a borderline call everytime and that penalty hurt a lot. OMFG THE REFZ GAVE THE PATZ DA GAME is beyond tiresome at this point.

This does not bode well for anyone. -
That's clever. My golden retriever's name will be Midas.

I concur. Although I did just receive a high-res print of a Penny Arcade comic for Christmas, so I may be biased.
-
See the Dolphins need to turn that into bulletin board material, talk about how they're disrespected and run up the score. That's what real winners do.
-
I want to see them go 19-0 just to watch TSM explode.
-
You don't think Belichick's ego would allow him to rest his guys, do you? If the Patriots are 15-0, ignore the "It's just one game, the real goal is the Super Bowl" rhetoric. That is the goal, but 16-0 is history. They'll go all out.

I like it. Ledger's "Like me!" was great.

Not unless you're a "real Yankee."

If that's the real list, Varitek's name is crushing.

Can we have a thread just for the Mitchell report- keep this one at least somewhat sane?
