  1. I am amused that people are calling this an "ECW" crowd. If anything, the first 3-5 rows are ECW fans, and the rest of the arena is Smackdown fans. WRESTLING doesn't go over well with WWE fans, thus the crowd being mostly dead for CM Punk/Credible which was a decent, albeit short match, but it is better then your average Raw match, that is for sure. Oh Nooooooo.......Sabu is talking.....again
  2. To celebrate the 2-disc special edition of the flick, I guess select theaters across the country will be showing the flick in it's newly remastered form and show a "Freddy's Best Kills" feature, only available at the screening. I checked Fandango and it is playing here Wednesday Sept. 20th. Of course, I will be out of town that night http://www.dreadcentral.com/index.php?name...cle&sid=261
  3. Kinda hard to do Three Way Dance rules in a ladder match though. Well that depends, is this a traditional WWE ladder match, with something hanging from the roof? Or is it an ECW ladder match, where it just means that multiple ladder matches will be ringside to use as weapons?
  4. Anyone else just a bit irritated that this is a Triple Threat Match instead of a Three Way Dance elimination match? I always favored the elimination style over the first pin style.
  5. Pretty good season opener, the seeds have been planted for a lot of plot twists and turns......
  6. Dammit, Shawn Springs had surgery and is expected to be out 3-4 weeks. At least it looks like he will be ready for Week 1...
  7. It will be taped and watched later tonight. This is a good show, and I was so happy to see the chick beat out all the desperate housewives for the Emmy last season, because this show is 100000x better.
  8. Chris Mortenson reported Portis's doctor says he will be ready for the Opener on Sept. 11th.
  9. Brad Johnson looks decent when there is absolutely no pass rush, but then again most NFL QBs do. He won't have that luxury on Sept. 11th when Greg Williams is throwing blitzes at him every-which-way!!!
  10. Well I won't disagree with you on the QB situation yet, but Jason Campbell has the goods, he is just raw, but he examplifies everything an NFL QB should have, the arm, the pocket awareness, the presence, and the ability to read the defense. He isn't ready to captain a team that is trying to make a deep playoff run, but I am pretty sure if the Skins were a .500 club, or at least if the coaches thought so, then Campbell would be the opening day starter. One thing is apparent and it is Tod Collins has no business as the backup, he should be on the roster strictly to tutor Brunell and Campbell about the inner workings of Saunders System. Gibbs has already said Campbell is coming in after Brunell against the Jets and I wouldn't be suprised if no later then Week 3 of the Preseason, Campbell will be getting reps with the starters. He is not quite ready to start, but trust me, he is getting there.
  11. Your right, but with the additions to the offense, as well as Al Saunders as the coordinator, the Redskins shouldn't have to run Portis into the ground the way they did the last 5-6 games last season. Last season the Redskins basically ran with what, three entire different formations? They didn't keep many defenses guessing to much, but I guess Santana Moss/Cooley/Portis were all good enough to make up for it. Contrast that with this season where the options will be unlimited, and it makes for a very different team on offense. One that doesn't have to rely on it's TE as the #2 WR on the team.
  12. Well I have a double-header tonight in my softball league, which takes place during Raw, so at least if I watch any of Raw it will be in fast forward mode......oh and by the way Season 2 of WEEDS starts tonight on Showtime....WHOO!

  14. Samuel Peter vs. James Toney on Showtime Sept. 2nd. Most people are picking Toney to win, fighting on the inside, thinking he is too crafty......
  15. Not against the Redskins STARTERS on Defense. The Bengals starting offense, against the Skins starting defense netted an entire -19 Yards. Of course, there was no Carlson Palmer, but it was really the Run-Stuffing that kept setting up the 3rd & Impossible scenarious that would be hard for any QB to overcome on a regular basis. As for the 'Skins offense. Much of what I expected, Passes to Cooley and Moss looked sharp, while his timing with Lloyd was a bit off, with more accurate passes, Lloyd goes into the endzone twice in the first quarter, the diving catch he made, he had a lot of seperation but the pass was thrown over him and he had to dive to make the catch, and then he was wide open down the field and Brunell over-threw him. Portis's injury SUCKS BIG TIME, but I just have a hard time believing he won't be ready for the season opener. Tod Collins was a definate dissapointment, but Jason Campbell showed some flashes, he has the presence in the pocket, has the arm, the awareness, now he just needs to learn the playbook. Gibbs said he will be #2 next week against a terrible Jets team. So hopefully he gets one series with the starters on offense.
  16. Being that Lieberman is pretty liberal in most of his views, it would seem a rather easy task for Lamont to get across the message that what seperates him and Lieberman is the view on the Iraq War. If he does that successfully, he should win. Someone already pointed out in this thread earlier that Lieberman is actually pretty liberal, but it is his stance on the War and the seemingly blind support for it that is hurting his chances the most. Lamont should just bring up Lieberman's liberal voting record and/or views, to get rid of the "Lamont is a far left extremist" bullshit, and then just re-iterate that over 60% of America aren't far-left extremists for being against the War.
  17. Tonight I get NE vs. ATL on the WB of all channels....and then at 7pm I get the 49ers vs. Bears game.
  18. It's kind of funny though because Shannon Moore getting on the mic and saying that is kind of ECW-like. I mean there were many instances where workers in ECW would get pissed and grab the mic and say something to the crowd, lol. I remember when Candido came back after while and the crowd was chanting for Sunny, and he finally had enough, grabbed a mic and said, "For the record, she's not here tonight, they made her go to the slammy's so shut up, I'm trying to fuckin' wrestle here" LOL. Of course, Candido went on to have a pretty good match(I believe that it was against Mikey Whipwreck) where as Shannon Moore probably stunk up the joint.
  19. You might be referring to the match where Sabu had the flu and was vomiting a few times during the match. I think that was at Wrestlepalooza....they had a match after that one that was far better.
  20. A follow-up to my last reply. A good example is John Cena, WWE is doing everything possible to get Cena over as a sympathetic face, I mean how many times already have we had to endure Jim Ross whining about Cena being screwed out of the title, or having the match stolen. The writers are really trying to emphasize that he is THE MAN, but due to circumstances he keeps coming up a little short. The crowd is barely buying this, because Cena himself is unable to project the emotion across to the fans without coming off looking hollow. Thus he can't get enough of the crowd behind him to be a true babyface, so WWE had to switch gears and have Cena start acknowleding the boos that he receives, and he has to play it off like it is ok with him and he isn't bothered by it, this is their new desperate attempt to win fans over to Cena's side. If it fails again, he will probably turn heel again.
  21. I certainly hope not, I mean, I am already avoiding Baseball Tonight because of the overbearing "A-rod in NY" bullshit. I am sure the hype will be there in full force, and it will probably be worse the 2nd time they play because the "revenge" factor will be added to the equation no matter which teams wins the first time.
  22. Well yeah, and I wouldn't expect them to go 0-6 vs. the NFC East either(As well I doubt the Skins duplicate their 5-1 division record), but still I don't think the Eagles have seen competition like this from their OWN DIVISION since maybe the early 90's. I am not even trying to say the Eagles will be a bad team, I just think that last year was their last year to take advantage of a division that was getting better, but still a season away from being great, and well McNabb got hurt, plus the TO fiasco, and that blew that all up.
  23. Oh well speaking of Roy Williams........I will be IN DALLAS week 2 So I am hoping Mr. Royverrated has a case of his own Deja Vu....
  24. EDIT: Double Post.
  25. No one is questioning Donovan McNabb's skills. He is a veteran, and a proven QB, well proven enough anyway. It is the rest of the team that has question marks all over it. Oh and lets not forget that during the Eagles glory days, the NFC East overall was a horrid division, with the Skins/Cowboys/Giants regularly putting forth .500 records or worse. Now you actually expect the Eagles to make noise in this division when every other team has seemingly gotten better then they were last year, which the Eagles, besides getting rid of the cancer known as TO, are pretty much putting forth the same team. They will still be a tough team to play, especially at home, but I just don't see them finishing any better then third in the division, unless there are some FREAK injuries on the other teams. Oh and TO vs. Dawkins will be fun to watch......if TO survives his battle with Sean Taylor in Week 2 that is....
