MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
Lord of The Curry replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Go Luke! - Had to get that in before the show starts. -
And you're basing that on what now? I don't think any of us here have any clue as to how much Benoit loves pro wrestling and to what length he's willing to sacrifice his body for it.

His gimmick seems to be the biggest thing holding him back. While he is not the greatest ME'er they've got he's carryable and is willing to work hard in matches. WWE Scenario in 2003- John Cena is getting super-over as a heel with his "edgy" raps and his I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude. Solution: WWE turns Cena and it works for a while. Until now. WWE Scenario in 2005- John Cena is tanking as a face character and desperately needs some of the edge he had in 2005 back. Solution: WWE turns Cena heel and it works. Until the fans start cheering him again and they're stuck back at square one. A complete gimmick overhaul is the only surefire way to see where they stand with him because he'll always be stuck in some form of limbo with the rapper gimmick. You'll always have the part of the crowd that digs his charisma and mic skills so on that front he'll always be cheered. Then there's the other part of the crowd that view him as a poseur and know that he's pretty bad when it comes to his in-ring work.

*Horn-Tooting Mode* I totally called this shit back when the Angle/Cena feud first started up. The fact that they added Michaels to the mix makes it even worse.

If Imes vs Evans sucks the balls it should then you can bet UFC will be editing it out and showing another fight in it's place during the replay, similar to what they did for the horrid Marquadt/Salaverry fight on the UFN I card. The replay showed Kenny Florian vs Alex Karalexis instead which was a much better fight.

Locke: Why is it so hard for you? JacK: Why is it so easy for you!? Locke: It's never been easy! Best.Exchange.So Far.

Tune into SpikeTV this Saturday at 9 for The Ultimate Fighter finale. Guaranteed to be better then anything WWE has done for you lately. Hey, maybe Christian will show up!

Sanchez vs Diaz is going to be a serious barrio-ass throwdown.

Can anybody give me the Cliff Notes version of that?

Question for those who know about labour laws
Lord of The Curry replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in General Chat
At least you were kind enough to admit that you don't understand the situation, which makes me pause and wonder why you felt the need to comment on it in the first place. But I'm answering that question for myself because it's you. -
So after 6 months of my store not having a single authority figure we got a new manager about 2 months ago and already the staff is sick of him for a few reasons, the biggest being that he's always in the store. Constantly. On his days off. Coming back in when he's done for the day. He's a full-time employee which means he's contractually obligated to work 40 hours a week. If he choses to work more I suppose he can. But two weeks ago an employee of ours that used to work for a law firm mentioned that there is some kind of law that prevents somebody from going completely balls-out with their hours. The worst part about all of this is that every time he comes back in it's never for anything nescessary. He just dicks around on the computer, reading e-mails, fixing the shelves etc. Two weeks ago from today was one of his days off and he came in THREE TIMES for nothing. Last week alone he probably logged well over 12 hours of extra labour with him doing nothing for it. As a manager when you do that you send two messages to your staff: A) I don't trust you B) I'm terrible with my time-management so I need to stay around much longer to finish the work. Anybody that has any expierience with this sort of thing: What did you do? The other supervisor at our store and our assistant, along with myself are going to sit him down and let him know that we have an issue with what he's doing, we're just trying to think of the best way to approach the situation.
-
I don't doubt that he'll show us a lot more in TNA then he did in WWE. The problem is that he'd be going up against workers like Joe, Styles, Aries and Daniels which may expose him more then help him.
-
Looking back, did you think Austin at the time would be that type of guy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Austin's in-ring work SMOKED anything that Christian is/was doing. He just needed a new character. Christians problem is his in-ring work, the character bit he'll do just fine with.
-
Your theory = not even close. While he will help Christian is not the type of guy who makes promotions.
-
Christian vs Jeff Hardy would be a pretty decent way to debut the guy in TNA based on their past together. Either that or a Xian/Hardy tag team.
-
That's fucking terrible. And I think it's been established that his no-compete clause is void because he just let his contract run-out as opposed to re-signing and asking for a release.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread
Lord of The Curry replied to dubq's topic in TNA Wrestling
Because nobody has said it yet: OMG XIAN IS GONE FROM THA E BIG TNA PUSH!~~~! FAPFAPFAPFAPFAP -
WWE's loss (and character-wise this is HUGE) is TNA's gain if Christian so chooses. The TNA mooks would eat him up somethin' fierce and if TNA is smart they'll just let him run wild on the mic on his debut. I'm guessing that the absolutely piss-poor way the WWE handled his mini-feud with Cena was the nail in the coffin for him. The segment where Cena debuted on the Highlight Reel was smokin but the cap-off for me was when Christians music hit and I thought "Now we're talkin". Imagine my (not so) surprised reaction when Cena handled him like a bitch.

So wait......how many more new episodes until this bullshit break?

Kong has some serious fucking balance.

Broken up. Doug has made a few Velocity appearances and Danny is MIA.

You can call Scarlett unattractive. Average. Plain. Vanilla. But "hideous"? Absolutely not.

Boxoffice Report oct. 28th-30th
Lord of The Curry replied to Gary Floyd's topic in Television & Film
Anybody care to wager where Saw II will be next week? I'm saying below the Top Five because everybody who wanted to see it seemingly all saw it this weekend. -
MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
Lord of The Curry replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
A PPV based around revenge would do fairly well, IMO. GSP/Hughes Leben/Swick (or Leben/Koscheck) Bonnar/Griffin II There's 3 solid fights right there. If Tanner hadn't gotten smoked out by Loiseau I'd put him vs Franklin up there too. -
In the words of the immortal Dr. Greg House: "Everybody lies." See: This thread where somebody talks about JJ outright lying about what would happen in Alias Season 3. Sometimes lying is nescessary to keep the fans guessing and it's not that far off of a theory that the writers would lie to throw people off from the truth.
