I'm not sure I would consider Sean Casey to be a first baseman anyway. the detoit folk are saying casey is an offensive upgrade, so i am sure thats where they're going to put him. him and dimitri young are interchangable at 1b & dh. luckily they didn't give much away for him. another trade in tigerland that has been discussed is roman colon for ray king. i understand the need for another lefty in the bullpen, but i always thought colon is valuable for the tigers as a spot starter. granted with maroth coming back, they'll have 6 proven starters on the staff. also, the tigers are still not out of the soriano talks. i hope the tigers don't trade cameron maybin. that would be a huge mistake. maybe shelton is trade bait for another deal in the next two hours. you never know. but i think i think the tigers could be unstoppable if the got soriano & pout him at second base. they'd have the deepest batting line-up in the league. on top fo arguably the most consistant & strongest 5 man rotation. i know people think the yanks have the best line-up, but there are too many variables including injuries, age, and streakiness that comes in to play.

the game came across as such a turd because he was taking advice from g-unit & 50. him calling out everyone is the 50 cent way of getting attention on himself. its alright to open your mouth & talk shit if you have talent, but listeners are starting to decipher the difference between rap by numbers and actual talent. game can still save himself. and i used to bust on game hard for being a phoney balogne, but if he can manage to recover from this & sincerely make good music without all of the g-unit bullshit gimmicks, he'll be miles ahead of 50. i still don't understand why everyone is saying jay didn't make beanie a star. there aren't too many mainstream rap stars, but in the rap game, beans is a fairly prominant figure. so is cam'ron, another guy jay's label helped make big. everyone in g-unit is known as 50's crony. people know young buck? come on. there's no identity to any of them. where's any of the individuality? they're generic wannabe gangbangers. throwing money around isn't shit. eventually these motherfuckers are gonna have to concern themselves with making good music instead of appealing to the vapid 13 year old demographic. 50 didn't save the careers of mobb deep or mop like he promised, did he? please stop quoting how many albums 50 has sold. michael jackson sold a buttload of records, and he isn't exactly on top of music NOW. shit has changed. 50 will fade away as a gimmick; which is ALL the guy is. same for eminem. jay is a ceo of one of the biggest labels in music. he deals with music, not just rap music. when jay speaks, the masses listen. has anyone cared nearly as much about em's retirement as jays? not even close. 50 is an embarrassment to rap, and just music in general. he's the asshole of rap. he's everything that is wrong with music. boring and souless tripe that has more to do with commerce than pleasing rap fans. selling albums to little kids is easy; satisfying intelligent music fans is difficult. 50 will never get that. he doesn't want to get that. which is fine for him. we can applaud him for making money, but we shouldn't delude ourselves into sincerely believing he has the power to make or break a career. his opinion on real music is useless. he'll base everything he does on what was popular in the past without concerning himself with revolutionizing rap. if he ever comes close from stepping out of the "i been shot 9 times" and "im callin' you out, son" box; i'll gladly retract this statement. but it won't ever happen. edit: 50 cent in the same position as jay in a few years? who in their right mind would hand over control of a label to a guy who can barely play nice with his friends, let alone a roster of artists. his insecurities would cripple him. everyone would be beefin'. he'd make matchbox 20 call out the barenaked ladies to sell records. i can't believe im debating with a bunch of children over rap. i'll stop.

don't think the tigers need any insurance pitchers. maroth will be back in a month giving them a 6 starter staff. in september they'll be calling up jordan tata and probably humberto sanchez. all of which could throw in a start or two. i wouldn't waste my time looking for pitching. i don't even know if i'd make any trades. i'd get soriano to play second base if the price was right. thats it.
