t.i. this guy can & will be the enxt jay-z. he'll run the game soon enough. be accepting all of his mtv awards. start his own label. inspire legions of knock-offs to be him. its true.

my stint at the starbucks was rather uneventful. it consisted of me making toast for fucking knobs i went to high school with. making coffee with soy milk for the uptight anal bitches who WILL storm away if we are out of stock. or people like inc, who intently lean over the counter to ensure that the appropriate squirts are done to their liking. i was unemployed at the time i got the job & quit knowing i'd be unemployed again. it was the most degrading job of my life. it was a time even i wondered how pathetic i'd become. that never happens. it brought out the worst in me. so THE band....you know, stage fright definately doesn't get the recognition it deserves among the hipster classic rock canon. everythign after that almost seems to come from an entirely different band. like the moody blues are something.

your favorite band song is a bob dylan song. for shame. best band song? the night they drove old dixie down not even close. the weight is farily fucking amazing, too. heck, their first three albums. near genius on all of them. so gentle. i just imagine five gold rush prospectors playing this magical music with only their oil lamps to give the room a slight glow. five men. no egos. no b.s. just making music without the true intention or pretention of doing anything magical. but making some so magical. music from big pink is essentially the great album ever recorded, outside of blonde on blonde. the boys learned from the best. in what group can you have three of the greatest vocalists ever? jesus. not even the beatles. i dunno if the beatles were even making better albums in 68, 69, 70 than the band. i really dont think so. no one was. after that? garbage. what happened? dont blame drugs. blame robertson.

touche. maybe thats why everyone considers radiohead so great. i'm so hypocritical i can't even defend myself. ha!

listen. thorton has been known to pack up his tent in the playoffs. they've got three top notch offensive threats. btu the oilers did a pretty good job of shutting down the red wings (aside from game 1). they're gonna have to play a strong defensive game. but somewhere they're gonna need to push toskala. he's even more unproven than rolason. i think if the oilers can shut down the sharks top line, they'll be able to grind out a victory. just tough, gritty performances from the ethan moreaus & jason smiths. thats what they need. i just think they are better prepared than the flames when they fall behind. the key is to fuck up thorton. without him cheechoo suffers & so does the offense. of course marleau can do some damage, too.

i think its a crime when an artist or band intentionally remains stagnant & rehashes the same bullshit over & over. its an insult. the best artists have an evolution, or revolution, somewhere throughout their career. last ill say, yo.

ozolinch isnt to blame for that goal in game two. weekes gave up on the play & let the puck lay behind him. any player woulda done what he did. if the goalie actually reached bhind me it would never have happened. and ozo was pretty much averaging a point/game with the rangers after the trade. ozo is not a bad defenseman, and after he gets his problems dealt with, he'll have no problem getting on with another team. to say otherwise is asinine. i can say going into this year i thougt the flames would be a powerhouse. but this is a prime example of a franchise not anticipating the changed hockey made over the past 2 years. you NEED scoring. even the devils guys have showed they had a scoring touch deep down inside of them. the flames stacked their team with grinders. when you get down 1-0 - grinders aren't that effective. they were shut down & made to look foolish tonight. the ducks made them look horrible. hopefully the oilers won't fall into the same trap, as they are another team full of grinders. lucikly, i'd say they have a more balanced scoring attack than their provincial rivals. hemsky, samsonov, smyth, horcoff, & pronger are all guys who the oil can count on. the flames really only had iginla & maybe phaneuf & huseleis. maybe langkow. thats it. no scoring. no more playoffs. tough shit, eh.

i can't get past his voice. don't think i ever will. i do like fake plastic trees, though. but still...that voice. in high school i really liked both the bends & ok computer. but that has slowly dissapated throughout the years. after ok computer, i don't like them at all. just electronic noise. which is fine in its own right, but i sorta resent how they've become demigods via such ungodly music.

Sykora wasn't a bad addition to the rangers at all. both he & ozolinch were great acquisitons & did superb in the regular season. sayign these were bad trades because of the playoffs would be like saying drafting lundqvisk in the 6th round was a mistake. or the deal for jagr was a mistake. the team was decimated. but dont be silly enough to denounce these trades because the entire team turned in an awful performance. hopefully both will be back next year. i don't think they were the problem with the team. ozolinch was depended upon too much to do things we doesn't excel at. using him effectively, like as a jason wooley pp specialist, would be smarter than using him for penalty kills. sykora was stunted, like the rest of the rangers & soon to be hurricanes, by a remarkable team. and about hitchcock. he should be fired. to even think of placing a team's chances on robert esche's shoulders is silly. he failed to motivated his team. they looked horrible from january on. he was unable to adapt & make the changes necessary to do anything. it was embarrassing to watch them against the sabres last night. a far worse performance than anything the rangers shitted out. heck, then any rangers game combined.

vivalaultra has not had a great showing in this thread.

get a life. he did not lose two playoff games by himself. if you understood hockey, which you obviously do not, you'd understand that the rangers were outclassed from top to bottom. horrible goaltending. undisciplined play. atrocious penalty kill. inability to remain healthy. this happened steadily throughout four games. ozalinch is an easy scapgoat for lazy hockey fans who do not, and will never understand what it takes to win a championship. ozo the bozo. i didn't know 8 year old girls knew how to use the internet. you're horrible.

rolling stone magazine admits that its not a step forward but a culmination of everything they;ve done yet rewarded them with a **** rating for such laziness. i know its rolling stone magazine we are talking about. but it seems like a contradiction to admit its the "same old" yet profess it to be one of the best double albums of the cd age. come on. i am listening to some of the disk 2 songs that the review pointed out. its really boring. why am i on such an anti-rhcp crusade? i dunno. but this double album nonsense needs to stop. this is sorta bob dylans fault, you know.

flea is upset that this album was leaked. he says not to download it because the cd will sound better sonically. and that us thieves are getting a plae imitation of what the album soudns like on cd. so maybe if i pay $15 it won't sound like the exact same thing they've been doing with rick rubin for 16 years. i suppose if you're a fan, you'll enjoy it. i just don't understand the need to make a double album. why, flea, why? is it a rite of passage for any rock band that takes themselves & their ability to seriously?
-
i can't say there is a living band worthy of that price tag. let alone such a boring band. i don't know how it could be fun to see them live.

hump de bump is everything that is wrong with the chili peppers. that sorta shit maybe passed for them in 88, but not now. and this double album, for the 8 songs i listened to, sounded like everything else they've ever done. why should anyone be excited? and anyone who knows anything understands that the chili peppers do have good songs, but that their albums are jam packed to 78 minutes thus there is so much garbage on an album it sometimes becomes a painful experience. now they're doing a double album? how much more garbage are they gonna have per quota than a single album? think about it....

since when do we discuss our mother's opinion on music here? there'd be a lifetime dedication award to hall & oates if that was the case.

this is my favorite hockey moment since 1988. so great.

i dont get WHY we are doing this. not that it affects me at all. i won't listen. just wondering what was the impetus?

because i listen to indie rock, i am better than everyone else.
