  1. That's weird, because i've never even been to Pitchfork, and while I read NME, I don't let it decide what bands I like. I'll take a quick listen to what they say is good, and if I don't like it, I don't listen to it anymore. If what you said were the case, I would be listing Arctic Monkeys as the band that will outsell The Beatles, The Cribs as the new saviors of rock, and Kaiser Chiefs as gods. However, I enjoy AM, but wouldn't call them the best British band ever, couldn't give two shits about The Cribs, and don't really consider Kaiser Chiefs to be all that good. The BJM, on another note, I discovered by watching "Dig!" at film school when Ondi Timoner came and screened it. It had nothing to do with Pitchfork OR NME. And while we're talking about it, I first heard Ryan Adams on a mix CD my friend made me. Once again, not Pitchfork. Not NME. Soooo...there's THAT. please change your signature. thank you.
  2. the flaming lips is all electronic-y. lots of falsettos & electronic hiccups. sorta overwhelmingly average. nothing is bad. nothing is good. i am sitting here feeling nothing at all.
  3. i wish ryan adams would just go away. regardless of any promsie he once showed, his personality & tongue in cheek self deprecation is enough to make one barf. i made the mistake of reading one of his pitcfork interviews after they lambasted one of his many shitty albums. he acted like the insecure fucker who'd still suck up to the cool kids ever after getting his face rubbed in his mash potatos in the cafeteria. his frank discussion in regards to his drug use also has little to be desired. what kinda 30 year old man brags about doing drugs? like, i did that to impress my friends when i was 13. dating lohan ain't gonna help matters... and no one will ever think of pete doherty as anything more than a doped up pin cushin. he's never done anything remotely worthwhile musically & his non-musical escapades have made him the msot boring junkie in rock n'roll history. i sorta wish he'd die. but even then no one would eulagize such a waste of humanity.
  4. bob dylan used to be able to sing. and bob dylan used to not be ugly. get your shit right, czech.
  5. it outta be neidhart. anything otherwise is pure folly. they should honestly nominate the entire hart foundation - not the tag team, they entire crew. pillman, bulldog, neidhart, owen, & bret. they all deserve it. has stu gone in yet?
  6. canada will NOT win. ill be surprised if they land in the medal department at all. the only way they'll actually succeed is if their are injuries & players liek eric staal are actually able to play. i think the russians will surprise. they'll at least be the most exciting.
  7. its impossible to have a sense of humor to these things like this. i'd turn to booze & methemphetamine cooch if that was what i represented at any time in life. you sorta remind me of those supertwats corey, corey, and the other fag from lost boys who tried to implicate the boyfriend as a vampire. unless thats cool nowadays?
  8. his spaceship landed from pluto. he stumbled out hunchbacked sporting a silver mohawk. gets to the keyboard. misses all of his queues. mumbles incoherently at all of the wrong times. leaves after 2 minutes of performing to return to pluto. all of his hanger-ons look at each other confused as they keep playing & dancing for an additional two minutes. thats rock n'roll, man.

kingofthe909 is one of these typical sportsfans who concerns himself mroe with bashing than actual constructive crisism. when they start winning again he'll be on cloud nine being their biggest fan.
  10. have i suddenly become tom waits? why is the subject matter shifting to my user name?
  11. whats it to you
  12. thsus far i've listened to alice, mule variations, & swordfishtrombones. i've liked sft the least. i think rain dogs & sft sorta ruined my objectionable listening of his 90-00 output; which i seem to like more. though, sft isn't exactly something i hated. you know?

  14. ya i drink before going out. i never knew there was a term for it. the more i think about it, my gepgraphical placement in north america leaves me clueless to most hiphoppin'/fratboy lingo. i'm hopelessly uncool in that department.
  15. i'm giving waits 83-present work another go. ill periodically report my findings. i am taking into account all that has been discussed here.
  16. whats pregaming?
  17. 1. ovechkin 2. phaneuf 3. svatos 4. lundqvist 5. crosby/miller alright, he's #5. my bad. maybe up to #3. no higher.
  18. Sidney crosby is running neck and neck with peyton manning as the most annoying sports figure. i wonder when the canadian media will turn on him? there's almost five better rookies than him this year. when will they stop blowing him?
  19. now that milbery is gone, ferguson is the worst gm in the league. how he constructed this team, in relation to the rule changed, was downright laughable. they're getting blown away by all of the fast, dynamic teams. they really don't stand a chance. the only redeemable player they have is mccabe. even sundin has lot a step or three.
  20. this whole jay/nas thing was done to (successfully) re-ignite their careers. it did. both are becoming old men. can they still hold it down? together? i'm all over it. nas is my fav.
  21. upon viewing leena's latest avatar, i change my mind. close this thread.
  22. pretty toney album was great. so was streets disciple. was bloated. coulda made an amazing single album if cut downa bit. but it wasn't a critical darling for whatever reason. nas & ghostface are the ones i care about here.
  23. this was really bad. bordering on awful. one is expecting jay to care about this? bush league.
  24. Jay has nothing to do with Cam'ron's career. Cam started rapping with Big L, then got signed to Un cause Biggie heard him and thought he was great, and got signed to Roc cause Dame Dash had been his manager/friend since he was 16. i understand cam'rons inception. but his two biggest albums came from rocafella. c'mon.
  25. stick to your radiohead musings, chum.
