Celts remain undefeated but I'm still not going to completely believe they're this good until they face and beat a Detroit/San Antonio/Pheonix type team.
-
I'm waiting for the wheels to fall off of this Celtics thing. If the Sox, Pats, Celtics, and to a lesser extent Eagles all won some kind of championship this year then the city would destory itself in celebration. The duckboats would have to be retired too from overuse.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I want the Gimmik thread closed and moved to classics right now before anymore posts are made in it after the This Thread is Ghey post. -
That's mainly because people have no idea who some of these guys are due to there being no real reason to watch them the past couple years. Tony Allen was a forgotten man after his injury, nobody knows who Leon Powe is but the guy is a tremendous rebounder and decent low-post scorer and I'm excited about watching Glen Davis and Brandon Wallace develop. I would like to see them get a good back-up center though. A veteran that can spell Perk some minutes, but I don't know who will be out there come the trading deadline.

lost in the shuffle of The Big Three is the play of Eddie House. That dude's been on fire lately.
-
He'll hit about 40-something% of his threes, dunk a few times on a fastbreak and then get schooled when trying to guard whomever he's suppose to be guarding. Sorry if that ruins the surprise for you but that's Gerald in a nutshell.

Has anyone ever fasted for an extended period of time?

drink a ton of water. It will kill some of the hunger pains. -
I felt he lost a step in what I watched. I saw him dive for a ball and flat out miss it when it was a play he would have made a couple years back and then there was one I remember him chasing to the wall that he couldn't catch up to when you know he made the basketcatch or the pompous glove grab in years past. He just doesn't look as fast and there's not as much life on his throws anymore.

at this point Andruw is winning based on name alone. He has no arm now and from the games I watched he certainly has lost a step.

Crisp got screwed and I think Pedroia should have gotten more recognition as far as the GG goes. nice to see Youkilis get the recognition.

Jose Guillen took steroids and lots of them according to some paper in San Fran.

Schilling and the Red Sox are close to finalising a one year deal

Tedy Hart said on HBO's real sports that he would seriously consider using "alternate means" to bulk up if that's what it took to reach the level of superstardom he wanted to. Seeing as how he and Smith there are apparently tag partners it wouldn't surprise me if both were doing it and this time around Smith just got caught. that episode also had a real good interview with Buff Bagwell of all people.

Wanna hear Dog the Bounty Hunter say "nigger"?

I demand a sequel to Santa's Slay or whatever the hell it was called. Goldberg killing B-level talent left and right at the opening was awesome. -
Gerald is also absolutely horrendous playing D. He may score you 27 but it will be negated by the amount the person he's guarding scores anyways. Right now he just doesn't have a high basketball IQ and is the exact reason why I wish the NBA had a minor league system. I still feel in the KG trade that giving up Ryan Gomes stung more than giving up Gerald. I was really hoping to see Gomes be the 6th man on this team.

I use to love their animation block of The Tick (usually two episodes), The Critic, and Duckman.

this thread has been around far too long to not have a comment from Yuna

I like Torre, but this team isn't going to do a damn thing until they add some power to the lineup. why am I picturing Tim Allen giving off his signature grunt before advertising A-Rod brought to us by Binford?

I must be one of the few that doesn't hate Keith Foulke. I agree that he basically sacraficed his career to help them win that series (pitching on two torn to shit knees). He should have been the WS MVP and if he ever chooses to walk into some random Boston establishment then I hope they offer him free drinks and a meal. Cabrera wanted to stay and for less than what they ended up paying Renteria. That was just a poor decision on Theo letting him walk.

the only good thing Mark Blount ever did was help me win a yahoo fantasy league the only time I played. It was LeBron's rookie season and I got him in the 5th round and Blount off of waivers. I had Pierce, Blount, Theo Ratliff, LeBron, Josh Howard, and a few other guys. I still hate you though alf

Antoine Walker has been sent to the Drew Bledsoe Memorial Island. Antoine is my all-time favorite Celtic. I've told the story of my interaction with him at the one playoff game years ago many times. I wouldn't at all mind seeing him come off the bench for the Celts this year.
