So how many years has Cena been #1? 2006 and 2007?

The HHH-related heat between Rock and Shawn basically stems from the time when Rock and Hunter were being built up to eventually take the top spot, with Shawn backing Hunter and trying to stop Rock from getting that position. There's the often told story from that time period, and this is around 1997, when Bret was booked to beat Rock clean via sharpshooter on Raw. Bret felt Rock was the future and didn't think he should beat him clean and got the finish changed to Rock winning via disqualification. This pissed off Shawn for a couple of reasons, one of them being that he was the one who pushed for Bret to win clean, and he wasn't doing it to build Bret up by any means. Rock appreciated what Bret did for him, which is why he always speaks highly of him. Rock is also aware of who came up with that finish and why. Seems like either the WWF locker room was filled with tension or the Bret-Shawn rivalry took on new heights in 1997. It sounds to me like there were practically two camps in the WWF locker room at the time, DX and Bret Hart and the rest of the company with McMahon in the middle.

This is a REAL stretch, but what if McMahon was pissed off enough about the nWo drawing ratings that all the WCW guys he took in, Steve Austin, Marc Mero, Vader, Mankind, Pillman, etc........ and formed his own group of former "WCW" stars to counter the "nWo".

In pro wrestling as a whole, what do you need to do to be a called a legend? Are there too many wrestlers out there that are using that monkier but don't deserve it? Who are borderline "legends" that really shouldn't attach that name to them. I'll start with one example. Is Sid a "legend"? Also, can you personally define the term legend? Multiple championships? Drew crowds? Ratings champion?

Until I thought about this I had no clue how it happened. How did Stevie Richards turn face? Was it defeating Thorn? Because I thought it was heel vs. heel. Also, when did the WWE let Stevie be STEVIE again?

Even though I'm a "Marquis..... I mean Marcus Cor Von" mark, I really don't think so. Unless we found out he quit or there is a bigger story to this, I think Cor Von deserves one last POUNCE~~~!!!!!! ............ PERIOD. In this thread. Edit: just like to add my favorite Cor Von moment was his first promo after his debut and he did the "WHAT" look at the crowd after they chanted it. Awesome.

Examples of a Wrestler TRULY Being Put Over
Boxer replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
Did Gurrerro over Lesnar count or was it the Goldberg interference that made it null and void? Also, what about Mysterio over Nash? Apparently Nash think's so. -
And my fascination with Cor Von ends. Damn. I guess it'll be back to TNA as Monty Brown for him. I guess TNA is gonna hype up that a FORMER WWE superstar is going to appear on Impact soon.

When was Edge in WCW? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GgyP1zffVg

What if Edge stayed in WCW? Where would his career go?

What about Warrior over Hogan? Can we all agree that right there was a rare job Hogan did but Warrior failed so bad, that it is hardly mentioned anymore. I think Goldust taking an ass kicking leading to Ahmed Johnson winning the IC title was another good one. -
Stating the the FIRST Ladder match in WWE HISTORY was Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon.
-
To counter that, Matt Hardy is better than Edge because he wasn't on the pharmacy list.

I really don't understand your question. If you're saying if any WCW Monday night wars era champ was better than Cena, then I'd just say Bret Hart. If you're saying that if WCW was still around would they have a better champ, then I'd say that if TNA (as their closest compettion) was booked somewhat sensibly and had a decent show, then I'd happily watch Angle as champ every week. Or Joe. Or Raven. Let me rephrase, if WCW was still around today, no matter who is the champion, which we obviously don't know, would ANYTHING at this time be better than a stale Cena as champion in the WWE. Seems some fans prefer anything but Cena as champion, so judging by that logic any WCW champion right now, if the company existed would get them watching that brand as opposed to WWE television.

How did Marty Janetty turn heel in early 1996? I can remember him as a face when 1995 ended, then all of a sudden he's a heel. He was pretty over in terms of a mid carder all those years, so what did he do to turn heel?
-
Since a lot of people don't like Cena as champion, if WCW was still around, would anyone holding their title be a better champion than Cena is today?
-
Now hopefully he can go away forever.

Is a potential Big Daddy V vs. CM Punk actually gonna happen? CM Punk needs to defend the title against Marcus Cor Von. And yes, damnit, I am a Cor Von pounce mark, so I want him back asap.

Anyone think Sprewell will ever come back to the NBA? I think New York or Miami would be good fits for him.
-
What if Hall or Nash only went to WCW by themself? Would they get over?
-
Will the bait and switch us again? Where's BIG SHOW when you need him?

I hope they release the 2008 DVD schedule sometime soon. I'd like to see the following: Something, ANYTHING, WCW. Box set or just a rise and fall DVD would work. A Vader DVD The Perfect DVD eventually Best of the Iron Man Matches The Rock career set Summerslam and Survivor Series are apparently coming out anyway in 2008, so they're good. WWE Rivalries. We need a good 3 disc set on the most intense feuds in WWE history. Hogan vs. Savage, Bret vs. Shawn, Austin vs. Bret, Austin vs. Rock, Triple H vs. Rock, etc........ Scott Hall and/or Kevin Nash DVD set The Ultimate Booker T DVD Set Chris Jericho DVD

Saw this show on Sunday, it was a pretty flat show. Some of the moves were questionable and left me scratching my head. Title match 2nd last, Triple H as close to curtain jerking as possible, Taker going LAST, and Batista winning the belt. This is definately one of the weaker shows of the year.
