  10. http://www.stuff.co.nz/4122952a1860.html UK airport officials believed Metallica singer James Hetfield could have been a terrorist because of his new "Taliban-like beard", according to reports. British newspaper The Times reported Hetfield was barred entry to Luton airport and questioned by staff over his appearance. He was interrogated briefly and was allowed to leave the airport when he persuaded officials he was a rock star. Hetfield's new beard was considered to be "Taliban-like", the paper reported. Metallica performed at the London leg of the Live Earth concert series over the weekend, and played at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday night.

  12. MIAMI (Reuters) - An 11-year-old girl was charged with drunken driving after leading police on a chase at speeds of up to 100 mph that ended when she flipped the car in an Alabama beach town. A video camera in the police car captured the look of surprise on the officer's face when he approached the wrecked car and got a look at the motorist. The Mobile Press-Register newspaper said the patrolman saw the Chevrolet Monte Carlo speeding and flashed his lights to signal the driver to stop. Instead, the car sped faster, travelling at up to 100 mph (160 kph) before sideswiping another vehicle and flipping over in the Gulf Coast town of Orange Beach, Alabama, on Tuesday night. The young driver, who lived nearby in Perdido Key, Florida, was treated at a hospital for scrapes and bruises and released to relatives. Police also charged her with speeding, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless endangerment. The car belonged to a relative and police were still trying to find out where she got the alcohol. There was none in the vehicle but her blood alcohol level was over the limit for adult motorists, police told the newspaper. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070706/od_uk_...uk_driver_child http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfufDl_DIYA
  13. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070706/ap_on_...gang_rape_teens WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Two teenagers were accused of gang raping a woman and forcing her 12-year-old son to join in the attack, then beating him and pouring cleaning solution into his eyes. Authorities allege Avion Lawson, 14, and Nathan Walker, 16, were among a group of about 10 masked suspects who forced their way into the woman's apartment in a crime-ridden housing project the night of June 18. The two were being held without bail Friday on suspicion of armed sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, sexual performance by a child, armed home invasion and aggravated battery. Both were arrested this week, but formal charges had not been filed. "Any rape case is horrible but this takes it to another level, something you can't think of even in your worst dreams," police spokesman Ted White said. According to the police report, a man knocked on the woman's door at about 9 p.m. and told her he had a flat tire. The mother and son, whom police have not identified, went outside and were ambushed by a group of gun-wielding suspects. The victims told police they were forced back into their home and beaten and sexually assaulted. According to authorities, the men raped, sodomized and beat the woman, then forced her son to participate in the assault at gunpoint, making him have sex with his mother in front of them. The boy was then beaten and had numerous household cleaning liquids poured into his eyes, according to the police report. The suspects also stole a few hundred dollars worth of cash and jewelry, White said. White said more arrests were expected, but he would not say whether authorities had identified additional suspects. The teens in custody were not cooperating, but Lawson confessed to taking part in the attack, White said. Walker has denied involvement, White said. DNA evidence in a condom found in the victims' home linked Lawson to the crime, police said. Investigators also say they found a palm print belonging to Walker at the scene. The victims did not suffer life-threatening injuries and have been released from the hospital, White said. "They're going through the county victim services for counseling," he said. Lawson lived in Dunbar Village, the hardscrabble project where the attack occurred. Walker was apparently visiting a friend there, White said. Authorities believe the suspects all knew each other from the neighborhood, but they don't think they knew the victims directly. Prosecutors have 21 days from the time a suspect is arrested to formally file charges. Lawson was arrested Tuesday. Walker was arrested Thursday. Walker made a first court appearance on Friday, after which his father, also named Nathan Walker, spoke briefly. "My son has a good heart," the elder Walker said outside court. "I can't believe my son would do something like this. I don't teach my son violence so I don't understand." Walker's attorney, Robert Gershman, said Friday he intended to enter a not guilty plea on behalf of his client once charges are formally filed. He would not comment further. A telephone message left at the office of Lawson's public defender was not immediately returned. (This version CORRECTS that police spokesman said more arrests were 'expected,' instead of 'pending.' )
  14. FOX 5 In Atlanta, GA is reporting tonight that authorities are opening up an investigation into the death of Mike (Johnny Grunge) Durham, who passed away in February 2006. Grunge was a close friend of Chris Benoit and was also a patient of Dr. Phil Astin. Investigators are looking into prescriptions that Astin gave Grunge, including one for 120 Soma tablets the day before Grunge died. The bottle was found empty. Grunge was known to have problems with pain killers and at one his last appearances, he was so incoherent in the ring that he forgot to raise his hands up to wave to his music. The autopsy for Grunge states that he died from a coronary artery blockage and morbid obesity. Soma and Hydrocodone was also found in his system. http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/myfox/pages/Ho...mp;pageId=1.1.1
  15. The Chris Benoit situation is the cover story of the latest issue of People Magazine. The article features quotes from Dean Malenko, Rick Steiner, Jim Crockett Promotions regular The Italian Stallion, writer Bryan Alvarez and Richard Decker, an Atlanta attorney who represents Nancy Benoit's parents, and others. The Dean Malenko quote is as follows. "He wasn't a monster. We're talking about a guy who, a month ago, was in Jacksonville and rather then drive down to Orlando where he needed to be the next day, he took a flight to be home with Daniel." The article also mentions that Nancy Benoit was arrested for aggravated assault in 1997 after going after her then-husband Kevin with a knife. [PWInsider.com]
  16. they were arguing whether or not Steve took roids. Maxim has an article called "They Shouldn't Be Alive" featuring wrestlers they think should have died already due to their lifestyle, with odds on them making it to 2008. Below are a few wrestlers whom they mention: The Ultimate Warrior Age: 48 Odds that he'll die before 2008: 20 to 1 Why he should be dead: For the better part of the late '90s, we actually thought the Warrior (his legal name since 1993) was dead. His disappearance from the ring sparked countless rumors of his demise, but the man once known as Jim "Justice" Hellwig is still alive and delivering rant-filled speeches to directionless college kids all over the country. The clip proves his brain is mostly dead, so his (probably) steroid-riddled body can't be far behind. How he'll die: Years spent screaming at the top of his lungs and tying off his joints to make his veins pop result in an explosive brain aneurysm during one of The Warrior's tirades. The Iron Sheik Age: 67 Odds that he'll die before 2008: 5 to 1 Why he should be dead: As Howard Stern fans already know, the Sheik has a bit of a drinking problem, along with a volatile temper that makes Ron Artest look like John Stockton…in short shorts. Plus, we're pretty sure there's nothing but tumors underneath that mustache. How he'll die: We're guessing bear attack. It's a long shot, but given the unlikely circumstances that have taken the lives of other professional wrestlers, it's not entirely unreasonable. Ric Flair Age: 58 Odds that he'll die before 2008: 8 to 1 Why he should be dead: We were shocked to find out that Nature Boy was born in 1949 rather than the late 1800s. It's obvious that he still has all the style and charisma that made him a legend, but he's also spent more time in the sun than the pyramids. Skin isn't supposed to be bright orange, unless it's on top of a delicious bowl of macaroni and cheese. How he'll die: Flair will tragically choke to death in a feather boa accident. During the autopsy, doctors will find that his skin was replaced with that of a beanbag around 1989. Dusty Rhodes Age: 41 Odds that he'll die before 2008: 10 to 1 Why he should be dead: Even when Dusty was in his prime, his man boobs suggested that the American Dream spent as much time with Bit-O-Honeys as he did with barbells. Now that he has no reason to exercise, he has a regular seat in every rib joint south of Delaware. How he'll die: Can you overdose on barbecue sauce? If anyone can find out, it'll be Dusty. You can read the full article at Maxim's official website.

  19. the wwe is really fucked if this whole case truly goes the way it should. The wwe deserve a royal bashing not only for their handling to preserve their public image, but for their way of running their company.
  20. Dr. Phil Astin was released on a $125,000 secured bond today, and will be electronically monitored as a condition of his bond. Doug Evans, a reporter for Atlanta’s Fox affiliate, is reporting that federal investigators have seized medical records of professional wrestlers that were under the care of Dr. Astin. Evans said that investigators seized records after they noticed autographed photographs of wrestlers on Astin’s office walls. Evans also reports that the toxicology reports are key if Astin is be charged in the federal investigation. Astin has been a doctor to pro wrestlers and other pro and college athletes for years, dating back to the WCW days. Chris Benoit took out a new life insurance policy, which listed his ex-wife and oldest child David, 14, and Megan, 10, as the beneficiaries. Nancy apparently confronted Chris about it and he refused to change it. Nancy also found out that Chris Benoit set up a new bank account in the name of his ex-wife in Edmonton.
  21. Gotta love how all the packages say "Caution: Choking Hazard" too.
  22. The Warrior is next on Hannity and Colmes
  23. Here's a link: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archiv...071benoit1.html It's a copy of the search warrant on Dr. Astin on the Smoking Gun. Now, IMO, the pieces are finally falling into place. Apparently the DEA were already aware Benoit's prescription habits from another investigation. Found out from that how much, which drugs, and who from (Dr. Astin). My theory: Benoit found out the DEA were onto him. Explains a "call home for emergency", if there actually was one. ("Honey, some DEA agents came to the door asking for you...") No one is sure when or if call was placed. Explains Benoit's acts, as much as they can be explained----threat of jail, trial, job & career loss, divorce, loss of access to son, etc. Explains why the WWE are on their hind legs trying to take the focus off steroids. Explains why WWE would quickly offer the Fragile X as an alternate expanation for Chris's anxiety. Explains why Benoit was such a closed-mouth guy who was quiet and kept to himself. Explains a whole lot. The only thing it doesn't really explain is the wiki entry. I'll think. This is just my opinion.
