  1. I was disappointed that the Reds couldn't sweep the Brewers today. That would have been a nice finish heading into the break: two games under .500 and 4.5 back from the Brewers. The Wild Card is not out of reach, but the odds are very slim that the Reds would win it. Sabathia looked tremendous out there, throwing nasty pitches in the 9th while being at 122 pitches. So far, so good for CC: 15.0 IP, 4 ER, 14 K in his first two games.
  2. My opinion causes that reaction from you? I am exaggerating and embellishing. It would be awesome if it did that well, but why would it be a flop if it didn't reach that mark? I was commenting on the fact that no other movie is making over $35 M this week, so it looks like lower competition for TDK.
  3. The Dark Knight is going to do $150 M opening.
  4. Nice race in the NL East heading into the break!
  5. The Yankees are signing Eric Milton? Wow. And maybe Richie Sexson? WOW.
  6. That is a horrible argument.
  7. I miss all of the "________, I'm calling YOU out!" threads.
  8. I got my tickets to the midnight showing a couple of nights ago. I think they are showing it on all 16 screens at midnight at my theater.
  9. Kinda sneaky funny, right?
  10. LME is a good poster that posts twice a year whether it's needed or not.
  11. I think he meant "PWI 500 of all-time."
  12. I don't think Smith plays the same role at all.
  13. By looking at the average gross for individual actors, Tom Hanks and Will Smith stand out. Orlando Bloom has an average that is out of this world, but I think we all agree that he wasn't the driving force behind POTC or LOTR. Mike Myers understandably has huge numbers as well, and deserves a lot of credit for Shrek. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/people/?view=...ross&p=.htm Edit---As bad as I hate it, Tom Cruise still does good box office. I also forgot to mention Jim Carrey.
  14. ha ha ha ha ha ha* *It's hard to construe a sarcastic laugh through a typing medium. There were a lot more spaces between the "ha's" when I typed it.
  15. I remember that guy. I enjoyed his early work. Edit---Just checked out his posts. Might I stress "early" work.
  16. Good points and the stats to back it up.
  17. Do they have any pitchers ready to step into the rotation next year? They still have some solid bats without Fielder.
  18. The grading of that first paper is horrible. There were grammatical errors all over the place before the ending, and they mostly wrote "good job" and such.
  19. Big stretch for Cincy over these next 6 games with Chicago and Milwaukee. Even though it is a major uphill battle for them and the chances are beyond slim, they are only 7 games out of the Wild Card with 72 games to go. A good showing in these 6 games could leave them in a slightly better position heading into the break. Cincy is 3-3 against both teams so far this year.
  20. But the scoop, man. What about the scoop?
  21. Clever, JJ.
  22. Which superlative(s) do you not agree with? Do you not think Batman is one of the most recognizable fictional characters ever? Was it the Joker as villain superlative? Solid actors? Explain.
  23. Maybe I can explain it. Christopher Nolan finally gave a faithful adaptation of a literary character (comic or not) in movie form. This series has solid actors, is faithful to the comics, and is still grounded in real life. Batman is one of the most recognizable characters in fictional history. This film has the Joker, one of the greatest fictional villains of all-time, and he will be depicted faithfully for the first time on film or television. What is not to get? Your reasoning is similar to children that have never eaten a certain food before, but they state their disdain for it.
  24. Not sure if this has been posted before. My friend saw it out in Tahoe so I looked it up online.
