Hopefully many more to come. He's my favorite player currently and rapidly approaching my favorite player all time. We are practically the same age, although I'm a bit older. That helps too. I'm also financially tied to his sucess too, as I've managed to build a nice portfolio of Miguel Cabrera autographed and game used baseball cards. It's worth about $2000 now, but if the meteroic rise in Albert Pujols cards also happens to Cabrera, it could easily be worth $8000-10,000. I saw that on baseball-reference, and I'm excited by it. He's only going to get better.

Those are some TV ratings, although I expected them to be even higher.

I've never been happier to see someone get kicked off a reality show. The girl is truly a horrible human being and she doesn't even realize it.

I've played in this stadium and I know at least Al will be interested.... The Red Barons will play baseball in 2005. That's the word from Lackawanna County majority commissioners after news the team's debt could put the minor league franchise in jeopardy. The International League contacted the Red Baron's general manager with worries about the team's debt: $650,000 in unpaid bills. It's a debt the league said could put the franchise in jeopardy if it's not paid. But the majority commissioners said they will do everything they can to keep baseball in Lackawanna County. Red Barons baseball has become a tradition at the Lackawanna County Stadium but rising debt has made the team's future uncertain. One day after writing a letter to the Stadium Authority saying the franchise is in jeopardy, Lackawanna County majority commissioners Robert Cordaro and A.J. Munchak talked about the issue. "We will correct it. Bob and I will correct it. There will be baseball in 2005. Positively, there will be baseball in 2005. ," Munchak said assuredly. The International League said it could pull the franchise: that's one extreme. The other is to leave the team alone and let the Stadium Authority work on paying off the bills. For the second time this year, Cordaro is asking the head of the Stadium Authority to step down so the county can begin reorganizing and work on the debt. Members of the Stadium Authority were unavailable for comment. The president of the International League said he considers the $650,000 in unpaid bills very serious. Cordaro and Munchak are worried that won't be the final tally. They said by January the debt could be closer to $800,000. "We know there will be more than $650,000 in bills. We don't know what they'll do in the interim," added Cordaro. The International League expects to get more financial information from the Red Barons in the next few days. It will make a decision about the team's future sometime next week. Never in the league's 125 year history has a team lost its franchise. But the league president said the stakes are much higher now, when more than half a million dollars is involved. WNEP.com - local news station

I hate Stacy with a passion. It's different than Omarosa because she was at least funny with how absurd she was. Stacy is just 100% hateable.

Buying something from Amazon is like buying it from the store. There's a 0% chance of not getting it. You have to enter your CC information, but I've never had a problem with Amazon. I've even ordered from amazon.ca when I wanted the Our Lady Peace DVD that wasn't available in the states. It's not a very risky thing to do. I'd say go for it if it's the only option.

I watched the first half... I had to turn it off. It was hard to watch. Did Pete Rose really manipulate people like that though? "Whose better than us?"

I'll leave the 35 page monologue to Bob Barron, but SNL last night with Queen Latifah was the largest pile of shit from start to finish that I have ever seen in my life. It started terrible with the debate...went downhill with the barbershop quartet, and sunk even lower by the time they had the voter "ghetto" faceoff that ended with Latifah's character saying..."Like my girl Queen Latifah would say." And then she started singing UNITY. I shut it off right there, so the greatest skit in the world could have come on last and there was no way in hell I was sticking around for it. Worst episode of SNL I've ever seen in my life.

I know... I still crack up every time I see the clip of him singing the National Anthem. Is it even humanly possible to get more into singing a song than he does during that rendition?

Just looking for information on the following prospects. Estee Harris (NYY) Kyle Sleeth (DET) Juan Cedeno (BOS) Kevin Kouzmanoff (CLE) Felix Hernandez (SEA) David Aardsma (SF) Wardell Starling (PIT) Dioner Navarro (NYY) Lastings Milledge (NYM) Joaquin Arias (TEX) Jon Knott (SD) Anybody who follows these teams have any info on these guys? In the card industry, the big names this year are Hernandez (He's only 17), Conor Jackson (ARZ), Carlos Quentin (ARZ), Jose Capellan (ATL), and Milledge (NYM). I can give an update on Jeremy Hermida that I received in the mail from the Miami Herald. I wrote in to ask about Hermida's status, and they said he's a year and a half off. He's only 20, so by 22 he can be a regular in the Marlins lineup. Any pertinent information anybody could share would certainly be highly appreciated. Or on any other prospects for that matter.

I actually thought the end was kinda lame, when the dad and his son were hugging the dog, I thought I was watching a Cialis commerical or one of those cheesy drug commercials. Then it got awesome again with Locke, but still.

Gary Sheffield is my childhood hero. Whenever a username needs a number after it, I always add a 10 because of Sheffield. I wore 10 in baseball all through little league and high school. Still the best Marlin ever, IMO. I think Cabrera will overtake him in my mind in about two years, but I still love Gary.

If you're just noticing I'm a Marlins fan now, you must not have been here last year. Just imagine a positive Anglesault. I'd say 700 of my posts came in last years playoff threads.
-
Without looking it up (!!) who led the National League in hits this year. He had 221 hits, with a batting average of .326. He also led the NL in atbats. Any ideas? Anglesault's own.... Juan Pierre.

I have Fox Sports south, which for some reason shows Orioles games. I had FSNY which showed all Mets games and another Fox Sports channel devoted to Pittsburgh sports when I was in Pensylvania.

But will that be before or after they get rid of Baldelli and Crawford and anyone else of value? I would have to say before. I wouldn't be suprised if he was a September call up in 2005, on the opening day roster in 2006. We're looking at a Pujols, A-Rod, Miguel Cabrera type of player...ready to contribute at a very young age.
-
Well, keep in mind, IMO the best player of the lot has yet to be called up to the major leagues. 2003 overall number one pick...Delmon Young. He's 18 years old and is probably going to be the major star of the Devil Rays franchise. I hope it doesn't become another "farm team" like Montreal, because we don't need that.
-
Am I crazy here, or does anyone else see the Devil Rays contending for the Playoffs/World Series in 3-4 years. Scott Kazmir, Dewon Brazleton providing solid arms in the rotation, along with Baldelli, BJ Upton, and just wait until Delmon Young starts mashing big league pitching. Obviously, they would need a few more pieces, but I can see a pretty rock solid foundation. Anyone else notice how Tampa Bay has silently stockpiled a contender in waiting?

Not gonna happen. Dr. Tom is closing the thread on Monday, unfortunately. I gave it a shot.

That was a great moment. One question, does Ichiro speak English? He seemed to be having a conversation with Sisler's relatives. Like I said earlier, I love watching stuff like this live. It's the kinda stuff I'll remember when I'm 60 thinking about the good old days, kinda like people do about Mays, Aaron, etc.
-
No... I'll do one better. They cut away from the hitter before Bonds, barely making it back in time for his at bat.
-
That was awesome. I love seeing things like that. It always gives me goosebumps. No one complaining they cut away from the game? By the way, the announcers at the Giants game said they were talking to Barry Bonds earlier in the weight room, and he said that next year he is going to be bigger, more sleek, and in the best shape of his life. Cue the roid talk, ad naseum...again.

Did the Ultimate Warrior say that?
