  1. Aries, or at least last time I saw him, and Kennedy both
  2. Kennedy was set to be part of the biggest angle of the year. One that was likely to lead into wrestlemania. Wrestlemania is seven months away, and Kennedy can still be plugged into the main event. Unforgiven is this Sunday, and I don't know who else WWE would have gone with after the hot angle they shot with Cena's father. Ultimate Vince Russo swerve tactic: Cena's Father turns heel and fights Cena Jr for the title, it was all a ploy you see, you know, letting himself get kicked in the face like that. Yeah, I'm aware how hypocritical that is after I was trying to defend Russo in a TNA thread
  3. I can't feel sorry for a man who quite clearly hasn't learned a thing over the years, and who still thinks it's 1997. Getting angry at the fans is missing the point, but for TNA it makes a great excuse to keep the blinders on. When your most diehard fans are rejecting something, it's the kind of thing that should send up red flags about what you're putting out, not be cause to raise the drawbridge and start lashing out. As for Russo's influence, just take a look at TNA since he came on board. His fingerprints are all over the product. That's true, but who's to say it isn't Dixie Carter - who wants something successful - making them come up with this crazy shit to compete with WWE and get viewers, thinking its what 'real' wrestling fans want - not the free leeching ones in the Impact Zone? Obviously, Russo is renowned for coming up with crazy shit, and like you said since he's came back TNA has went to shit, though its also gained Prime Time, and Kurt Angle and gained ideas above its station - a dangerous cocktail. Just without knowing how much input Russo actually has this time around its an easy way out to blame him for everything. Granted, he does come up with crazy shit. Like you said, if they're blaming Russo and all he does is suggest who should be in the opening match and has nothing to do with the bullshit, it's a pointless attack. Wouldn't Russo have himself on screen if he had a say on what was going on?
  4. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Russo getting all this heat for shit he probably hasn't done. I mean end of the day it's his job, it's what puts cash in his wallet. If he gets fired just cos a bunch of 'smart fans' chant 'FIRE RUSSO' whenever anything a little Sports Entertainment happens, then that's shit. Most reports coming out about TNA say Russo has had very little to do with TNA and its Dutch Mantel, Jarret & Dixie Carter. Carter being the boss and looking at what made WWE successful seems the likely choice for pushing the others to come up with 'whacky' ideas.
  5. Drugs, Sex ROCK AND ROLL!....... then man boobs, STDs and then being found coked out of your mind in a hotel room, at a guess anyway.
  6. YES PLEASE! Anything with Hydra is golden - I'm still holding out for Sharkboy v Hydra. Sandman v Hydra, what would that be - Hydra flexing his huge muscles infront of Sandman. Sandman looks at him like 'Who's this fool' then canes him?
  7. I'll check at work, but it should be soon the coming soon covers arrived today - I'm guessing 28th Octoberish (PES comes out and Fifa will have been out a little while)
  8. Is it not the stigma he now has in American Wrestling? People give him 'X-Pac' heat cos they think its cool, well, probably not everyone, but seriously the guy needs a break - though he did have sex with Chyna so yeah
  9. Yeah, that's right they did, Slash and the other guy from The New Church were in it too. Just recently watched that PPV strangely.
  10. OOH I think I'm the first to say it! Ooooh I have to, I can't resist, it needs to be said.... Sandman - TNA There we go, I think this thread is complete now. So, say if TNA did have brains - Paul Hayman - is Hayman still under WWE contract?- , The Sandman, Sabu and RVD are just floating around doing nothing, wouldn't this be an ideal time to bring them in for some cheap easy pops? Maybe divert some of the lost ECW fans their way, the TNA-UWA hardcore shows were pretty decent last year.
  11. It's the Impact Zone, they'll chant whatever the internet tells them to. I heard TNA are going to start asking people if they own a PC, or known any who does own a PC, and if the answer is yes, you can't enter the Impact Zone incase... well, not really.
  12. At a time where people are being suspended left right and center, and others are 'quitting' why would they go and sack someone like The Sandman? This is sad.
  13. DDT! This was an ok Raw, but you can feel how thin they were for numbers due to the suspensions and injuries. They played me throughout the show regarding the Son though, I was gutted when it was HHH, then couldn't help but laugh at it being Hornswoggle just out of share relief it wasn't HHH. It probably will end up being Kennedy like.
  14. Yeah same here, you've just reminded me about the 'Hall of Fame' thing, if its like Madden's it should be sweet.
  15. I heard that they were tying GM Mode with Season mode, not sure how that'll work and haven't seen details about it.
  16. Dustin Rhodes and his tame as shit pet rat is a quick entry into Wrestlecrap.
  17. That's exactly how I felt, I just thought it had elements of Dues Ex, only without the RPG storyline. The Atmosphere and graphics were amazing though.
  18. I think he asked for his release, there was a 'copy and paste' job about it somewhere, I think its in the 'Comments...' thread.
  19. Wow really? I think I'm just missing out on it, don't get me wrong, was really fun to play (I played on medium) but I don't think I could play through it again, not at the moment, maybe in a month or so.
  20. That's Toriyama character designs for ya. Dragon Ball/DBZ, Dragon Quest, Tobal and even Chrono Trigger all look basically exactly the same. Dragon Quest VIII looks almost exactly like the DBZ characters are all in disguise in an RPG. "Oh hey, there's Mr. Satan as a gypsy fortune teller! Oh look, Android 18 is a barmaid in a bunny costume!" It might have been a Dragon Quest game after all then, I can picture it in my mind, Shu standing on a rock with a bottle on his Belt, and his Grandfather behind him. Could you expand on that a little? Is the grinding indeed a problem? Is enemy avoidance as bad as I'd heard? Is the pacing poor and riddled with drawn-out grind-fests, fetching, or just general RPG-filler like that? Does the game try to be long for the sake of being long, rather than wrapping up before it's overstayed it's welcome? As for how it feels like a chore - I don't know, I just don't feel like playing on it, when I load it up, I feel like the game hasn't gripped me enough into actually going to the next village like I've been asked. Then I realize 'oh shit there's a whole other disk after this'. There's alot of walk around and talk to people type of things, as in any RPG, which I don't mind, and a few 'WALK THROUGH THIS VALLEY SINCE ITS QUICKER!' moments, even though it never is and the valley always has 1000 monsters waiting to bite your balls. The storyline itself is ok, crazy old guy has machines and magic he wants to destroy everything, he destroyed you little village you go and stop and gain friends on the way. I personally don't feel the enemy avoidance is that bad, you can learn a skill 'stealth' that makes it hard for them to spot you, as well as 'field spells' like 'barrier' and 'stun bomb' that either automatically defeats enemies you've defeated before at the cost of some MP, or stuns then for a few seconds to run around them. There's even a nice little touch where certain types of monsters will fight each other for you - Hamster eating the Nut monster, Dog eating the Skeletons, etc. Actually, this is another reason I don't feel too engaged into the game, the monster types, I'm just not 'feeling it'. That might sound like a real cop out reason for not like a game, but I'm just not feeling the Monster Types. I know they're tried and testing, but its just too generic and too clichéd and apart from the 'Monster Battle' (where they fight each other) there's nothing new to them. Same old, Same old - this game is basically like every other RPG you've played before. The shadow system is pretty cool, I'm enjoying that, though I can see why some people might be annoyed with the time and grinding you'd have to put in to get a decent selection of abilities to make a good Shadow. There's basically a 8 or so different type of dragon, each type has its own unique skills, however, you can use any of the skills unlocked to form a custom dragon. Example - Shu starts off as a Sword Master dragon, so he has all the sword master abilities, however, I switched him to guardian and unlocked some of the guardian skills, and now he's got a mixture of Sword Master and Guardian skills. Though to do that you have to level up alot to unlock new Shadow types, and then you'll have to level up General type Shadow so you can have more then 4 skills. It won't make that much sense until you play it. I like it, but again it'll require alot of time (not much effort) to do it. There's also a nice bit where you get to design and make a ring (at the start of the 2nd disk), though I'm not sure how many more moments there are like that in the game, I'm hoping its not a one off thing as it was pretty unique and felt fun - at least for me. Like I said, I think the main problem for me is I feel like I've played this game before, nothing seems fresh or new. I also could have really done without Poo Monsters, I mean I like my shit and fart jokes as much as the next person, but there was just something about having alot of monsters made out of Poo that annoyed me. I have no idea why. I suddenly felt this game was aimed at kids. A mixture of having played games for over 10 years now, and a lack of originality in general. This game IS just Final Fantasy without the Franchise Title, it would be silly to suggest otherwise. The demo will give you an idea of the game, though it kind of just throws you into the middle of the game so you won't have a real idea of what the hell is going on. I still haven't got up to the part where Kluke gets the thing around her neck.
  21. I am so looking forward to 2008
  22. I'm onto disk2 and its ok, but the achievement points on it are stupid - I'm by no way an achievement whore, but I do like to get a few hundred a game at least. The ones in BD are just absurd and annoying. A lot of grinding ones, and alot of 'oh shit, I missed that one now I have to start a new game to get it'. Which on an RPG where you have to play for hours to get to that point is shit. Infact, I'd go as far as to say right now I feel like Blue Dragon feels like a chore to play. While above I said that BD is probably the closest thing to what AndrewTS was looking for in a game, it certainly doesn't mean its the best game out ever, just the shit that's floated to the top in a weak string of games over the years. I feel like I've played this game before, there's nothing original about it. Even the Characters feel like they're from a PS2 game, or some Anime movie I might have seen - at first I thought 'Dragon Quest' on the PS2, but I checked at work and it wasn't that, but I'm pretty sure these characters have appeared in another game. Shu's Grandfather looks all too familiar. I good feature is searching the scenery around you to gain items, though that becomes tiresome after a while. POO MONSTERS? No thanks. I'll probably be trading this game in without even sniffing disk3, as Halo3 is out soon and I'll be more then happy to play the generic shoot 'em up with all the hype and online gameplay, then this rehashed and clichéd semi hyped no online RPG.
  23. On reflection (no pun) I have to say that Bioshock hasn't really blown me out of the water (pun). I have no desire to replay it, having finished it. How do others feel?
  24. They're ok, but they'd much better off early-mid 90s, they just feel very dated. And, obviously, since its just him and his mixing board alot of the, even totally different, just sound the same since its the same gear making the noise. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he uses the same crap I use to make his songs - Pro Tools & Guitar Pro (For creating backing tracks )
  25. I'm still trying to work out who that girl is in your av, unless its just some random Spring Break bint?
